7:54 Wrong. Tenchu came out first in February of 1998. Metal Gear Solid and Thief came out half a year later by September and December of 1998, respectively.

You should definitely give a try to Shinobido Way of the Ninja (The best Ninja game that was ever create it in my opinion) it's really a hidden gem of the PS2 Era, you really feel like a True Ninja when you play this game, no debate whatsoever, in my opinion it's even better than the Tenchu series. ☯️

Fun Fact: I do believe the Greatest Hits release of Stealth Assassins actually comes with the opening from the Japanese version. I remember looking up the opening online and was very confused why it looked different. The Western release's opening is much more mysterious, but the Japanese version shows more of the characters including Onikage... I like it so much better

Yup and not only it's hard to do this level without getting spotted. Before you fight the second boss. I always take out the guards near the door cause even if you sneak by them somehow without seeing you. They might hear the fight and the guard on the tower will see you and will run down and join the fight as well and it sucks that during a boss you get penalized for getting spotted during a boss fight by the regular guards.

mad props for playing through this, I couldn't do it. It's because to me it doesn't have the tenchu "Feel" in terms of overall gameplay. I care more about that than the story, though I do find it funny that Rikimaru in this game was voiced by Liam o Brian, who voiced Gaara in Naruto. Tenchu Z which came out for the 360 was more appealing than this, because while the story was lackluster (and it did have problems with reusing the same level themes alot) the gameplay felt more like classic tenchu which is what I prefer. If this series comes back out of the shadows, then I hope both are retconned out of existence for something that can go off the stories of Wrath of Heaven/Return from Darkness well.

Jeez, it's been a LONG time since I played this and know most of these cheats by heart. Here's a tidbit : Using the health cheat code at 0 HP won't do anything. However, if you're hit in the air (when it hits 0) and enter it, it will work. (I remember this specifically because of Onikage's jumping leg scissor attack -_-) And here's a random bug not a lot of people know about. If you do a launching attack on an enemy from behind (crouching attack), and they land on the surface, but FLIP into a bottomless pit, they will be dead but have a HUGE pool of blood underneath them. This is hard to do unless you use items like poison rice balls. You can also drown Onikage in the final stage instead of fighting him. It's incredibly easy to do, just keep him on the screen at all times as you backtrack. ....Speaking of which, Onikage's theme is badass and iconic. It really is a shame they didn't put it in Wrath of Heaven.

im playing on the ePSXe with the European version and a ps4 controller mapped. But i noticed when i crouch and roll that the camera will flip and the charcter looks the other way! can you not roll forwards?
