Hello, has your irrigation season ended? If possible, I would like to communicate with you about the cooperation of smart irrigation controller next spring. Are you interested?
Great vid
Hello! Has the irrigation season ended in your area? I'm interested in exploring potential collaboration opportunities and would like to send you a smart irrigation controller to optimize your irrigation experience.
Don’t know if you can help me, today I was turning over the soil in my raised bed. I noticed about 6 large grubs. I grow vegetables in this. Can I use the grub killer in this raised bed.
I would not use these particular products in a vegetable garden, where you would be looking to consume the produce of the plant. I would instead use a few “natural” solutions like diatomaceous earth (food grade),neem oil, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) these are a few food friendly options. I am sure that there are more, that I may not be aware of. But to be safe I would check with a local greenhouse to make sure that you are getting the proper item or maybe a product that works much better and is safer to use. I apologize that I am not as well versed in the solutions that you are looking for. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Thank you

Hello, are you interested in reviewing the smart irrigation controller? I can send you a sample, you just need to provide the honest feedback😊
Don't you need to water the bio-advanced in after spreading?
Yes you do.
@@TheHighlanderLawn I did a week ago but still see it on top of lawn - and dead lawn that Grubs killed
@@tomjones3907it takes some time to disintegrate, but if you water your lawn throughly, it is safe for your pets and kids to walk on( according to the label) but personally I’m not in a hurry and wait for a week to walk on again.
@@TheHighlanderLawn I've read now that this product is only effective for 24-48 hours after application. Is this the case?
I just got the Sun Jo and it's awesome.
That is awesome! I am glad to hear that you love it!!
Question: Will this application damage the lawn and the seeds? I recently overseeded and aerated. Thank you.
I have never experienced it messing with over seeding, but have a few friends who stated that they felt that it negatively affected their seeding process. I did respond to this a week ago but for some reason it shows that it had not been responded to. My apologies. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
A surgeon did the same thing for me when I tore my A2 pulley. Grafted a piece of tendon from my upper wrist to repair my ring finger. Good thinking :}
Nice. I hope that the surgeon did a better job than what I did on the “cosmetics” of the repair. 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
@@TheHighlanderLawn You did a great job! ... And my finger is good as new ^^
My wife screamed this morning when she was ready to leave for work. We parked our car on our driveway and this morning there was about 10 grubs crawling on the driveway (been raining this whole week due to Helene). My wife is terrified of anything that crawls. Anyway, this summer we had a ton of battles and I just thought this is kinda cool, but now my wife said you have to get rid of this issue.
My apologies for the delay in responding. I have been out of reach of technology for the last 10 days. If you are looking for an immediate result the 24 hour killer works well. Then after 2-3 weeks I put down the seasonal. And I usually put these down in May. Now I will say that this year I got a heavy infestation of armyworms which the seasonal seemed to not deter. So I did put a second round down again and it wiped them out. Seasonal product does work as a deterrent, but it does tend to be slower. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Just installed mp rotators front nd back lawn was reading the stream has to over lap almost to next head is that correct?
Yes head to head coverage is always the standard in laying out most sprinkler types. This is the even more the case with MP’s as they are a low volume GPM application to the turf. My apologies for the delayed response. I have been out of reach of any technology for the last 10 days. Thank you for your comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
The 24 hour kill did not work. Still find tons of grubs.

Thank you for the very informative video, just found your site. I put down the 24 hour killer a few weeks ago. I had read that you should put down the grub killer between July & September. They state that is when the grubs are still small. Can I use the long term killer a a preventative measure. Thank you, and I did subscribe

Thank you for your reply, I got hit very bad also. Didn’t know about the seasonal . Will be putting that down next spring.
How long did you dry your seed before mixing it with milorganite?
I allowed it dry for 24 hours from the final soak. This will not completely dry out the seed. It will definitely need to get broken out of the clumps that can and will happen. But using Milo or humate as a binder has worked very well. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
The karate kid reference made me a subscriber. I'm trying to fill a long crack in an industrial Tipper cart at work and I'm going to try this idea to try to save it
LOL...I am glad that you enjoyed it. Thank you for the sub! I apologize for the lack of content this year, I have been extremely bogged down with an entire house remodel for my daughter and it has just taken up the majority of my time. I would love to hear how the experiment has worked out. I am glad to report that I have not had any further cracking of the wheelbarrow and that it has been used on several projects since the repair. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Wish you did a results video
I am sorry that I did not do so. I will say that the pre gernination went fantastic. I will state that the homeowner of this lawn has had a TON of soil composition issues. He did get discouraged about this and did let the lawn go a little bit, and he is now wanting to redo the entire lawn with a different turf seed type. Looks like that will be a lawn renovation job for 2025. SO...basically "Help me FIX my Ugly Lawn......AGAIN!!) LOL. Even though I get the lawns looking great...staying vigilant in taking care of the lawns after I leave is a must. Anything can return to the previous condition that it was prior to the renovation if left unattended. I will be doing some results next year on that Return of THL to fix the lawn once more. LOL. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
@@TheHighlanderLawn Thank you for the explanation. You do great work! I really enjoyed the video!
Highlander!! Missed you all 2024 lawn season. Just started thatching and reseeding and checked out your video that you made over a year ago. Miss your Hunter mp nozzle videos. I installed K rain adjustable nozzles this year and love them. I hope you'll be doing more videos and your doing well health wise! All the best! Anthony
AAtta-3286 (Anthony). Thank you. I apologize for not putting any content out for the 2024 season. I recently retired (you would think I would have more time on my hands) and have been busy helping my daughter remodel her house and during the early spring and into the summer I have had a ton of sprinkler systems that I have installed or retro'd. Shot some footage but never had much time to edit and produce the vids. I should have time to get those edited and produced for 2025. I feel terrible that I just have not had the time to put towards the editing. I have always been a fan of the MP's. I have not had any experience with the K-Rains. But that would be a great content video for a comparison vid. I am doing well, just crazy busy. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Awesome video!
Thank you very much.
Why do u pick up the plugs? Most say not to
If you are not planning to do a topdressing and overseed. You can leave them. Tear them up with your mower and then water. If you are topdressing and overseeding you will want to pick them up so that the new soil and seed can make it into the holes, where the plugs were pulled. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
WOW! That young kid did a lot of hard work! That's a tiring job for his age.❤💪👍
He helped out for about an hour to 1.5. He did a good job, and he needed to do something, because he was “bored”. 🤣🤣Well I cured that boredom REALLY fast!! 🤣🤣He’s a pretty good kid. But doesn’t always like it when the old man puts him to work. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Installing sprinkler system to water the city grass strips is a waste money. I only water my lawn.
Well look at you, all virtue signaling and everything!!! You must be very proud of yourself!!🙄🙄
What rate did you use on the spreader? Milorganite and seed have different rate applications.
I went one setting above the recommended spreader setting for the Milo. The seed is using the Milo as a binder to attach to so you’ll need a little more space to allow it to pass through. If you are not getting the combo of both to come out properly, just notch it up by the next setting until you are satisfied with the Output. Thank you for the comment. I hope you hear from you in the future.
great video
Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate the comment!!
I did'nt know that moths lay eggs that become grubs
Grubs come usually from Japanese Beetles / June bugs. Sod webworms are what are spawned from the adult moths that I was showing. You can also get army worms from a different type of moth that is usually a light tannish brown with an interesting design pattern on their wings. I have experienced them twice since shooting this video and they were the most rapid and destructive of the three. Thank you for your comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

Thank you for the kind comments. Best of luck to you in your efforts in your lawn. It can be challenging and very rewarding all at the same time. I have been so busy helping others this year that I have not had an opportunity to create any content for the 2024 season. I have some footage but have been so busy I just haven't had time to edit and produce it. Helping folks is the reason I do what I do. Thank you and may God bless you everyday as well.
Do these all have the same amp. ? were the height settings the same. ? If not this can be biased. Please do this again with the current models with the same amp, same height adjustment, same width. Love to see the difference. all company increasing amperage. thank you.
The amperages on these did vary somewhat but by no more than 1 additional amp. That can make a difference but not a drastic one. In comparison of the height differences. These were the most popular and reviewed units at the time of production of the video. If one could go lower then that was to that unit's advantage over it's competitors. It's more of a granny smith apples to honeycrisp apple's type of comparison. But I am working on a new unit review that will most likely be out and ready come spring of next year just as the dethatching season is strongest. Thank you for your comments. I greatly appreciate it.
The thing you left out about the worx is that the handle is adjustable.
Thank you for pointing that out. I will do better going forward.
You're doing a great job. Just wanted people to know that the handles are adjustable. So if you're struggling with the push and pull try adjusting the handle but you're doing a amazing job. @@TheHighlanderLawn
Dude. why poison the bugs? They're just trying to make a living, and they aren't harming your sprinkler valves. You suck.
Excellent video. I love the time lapse of you changing out the filters and adjusting the heads. I'm embarking on a project to upgrade most of our rotor heads to MP rotators, including the greens on our community's 9-hole golf course. Looking forward to a big improvement in evenness and consistency.
FIrst of all let me apologize for the very late response. I somehow missed this comment. Thank you for the compliment. I have been and will most likely forever be a believer in MP Rotators. I wish you the best in your upgrading your system and the golf course. I would love to hear how it's going. Thank you for the comment.
Thanks! We upgraded six heads last week as a trial run… excellent results. I have 30 more that arrived yesterday - ready to go!
Very nice. Could the pre germinated seed be mixed with the Scotts triple seed starter fertilizer instead of Milorganite?
I have back pain and also fatigue.
I feel you. But this product is fantastic for relieving those items.
the pissing part was so funny
lol ...Thanks. I am glad you liked it!!
What was that bug that you said was the culprit for laying the eggs? It looked like a moth? I have seen a lot of those come out of the grass when I am watering. I just thought they were moths of some kind.
They are the adult stage of sod webworms aka “lawn moths”. They are usually busy laying eggs in your lawn that will hatch and their young look like a caterpillar more than a worm. They feed on your turf grass and the damage they inflict will cause your grass to look as though you just dropped your mower too low and “scalped” it, as well as brown patchy spots. You can use the products in the video to help in controlling them. I hoped this helps. Thank you for the comment I hope to hear from you in the future.
@@TheHighlanderLawn thank you for the information! I had no idea about this kind of bug. I always see them coming out of my grass when I am watering. I threw down some Triazicide because I noticed a lot of cockroaches at night! Then I noticed a patch of yellowing grass when I was watering. Noticed a June bug came up because of the water and I determined that grubs are the culprit. Is Triazicide good to kill these insects (moths, cockroaches, grubs)? The package says it will kill them but was wondering your opinion on it.
@@mslisasierra I don't deal with cockroaches here as much in Utah!! (Thank goodness). I have used Triazicide several times and have seen decent results. My biggest culprit that I deal with most is sod webworms (moths), then grubs from time to time, and I have had one attack of army worms that nearly destroyed my front lawn in just a couple of hours. I have used the Bioadvanced (24 hour killer and Complete season long styles) and Scott's Grub Ex as well as using Bifentherin (mainly helps with mosquitos but does help kill off other bugs and pests spiders, etc.) but be careful if you use bifentherin, it will kill honeybees just an FYI. Thank you so much for the reply. I hope to hear from you in the future.
What type or where did you get the bagger attachment?
To date every dethatcher I have purchased comes with a bagger. But they are honestly an absolute waste of time to try and use them. There’s too much debris. It will fill up in 3 seconds flat.
I would love this mower thank you.
Good luck!
Just bought but the 90 degree and anything less than 90 degree similar to the corners of your inner driveway did not work very well. Coverage without going greater than 90 degrees was poor. The middle 180 degree ones work great. Traded them back out. Wanted them to work… corners seem to be an issues.
I am sorry to hear that you are having issues. I have not experienced the problems that you are having. I have only had issues with the 3500 series. Haven’t been that impressed so far with those. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Greenworks has a model that’s better and more comparable to the SunJoe. 13amp 14” and has a bag and scarifier also
Yes, that model came out after this review was filmed and posted. I will most likely be doing another video next year on them. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
Great information. ❤
Thank you. I am glad that you liked it!
I heard on the SunJoe, the air vents clog and the morons put 4 screws on the top but still doesn't remove the top??? WTF.
There are some screws that are hard to get to. One is located under the SunJoe emblem sticker on the front. Pretty foolish if you ask me!! Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future!
I giggled at spotty dumps
Most do!! Dethatching or not!! 🤣🤣🤣
Hi, do you recommend the Turf Blue Pro or the Turf Blue HGT?
I only have experience with Turf Blue Pro.
Hi. Have a question. I'm in Michigan with very sandy soil. Is there a benefit to putting down the RPR / HGT Bluegrass combo or just seed with RPR and then overseed this fall with the HGT Bluegrass? I should have my irrigation system functioning by early July. It's probably too late for Bluegrass seed, right?
I also plan to put down 3 inches of topsoil before I seed with the RPR in July.
It is possible to seed in July with KBG. But you are then committing to watering like a “crazy person” 🤣🤣to keep that seed damp enough to push germination and for a couple of weeks thereafter to maintain the seedling development . I love my Turf Blue Pro with the RPR combine, I put down. I have also repeated it on 3 others yards this year and we are seeing amazing results. I have not used the HGT KBG but have heard great things about it. So bottom line…you can seed in the heat of July…it’s not easy and will take more attention to the moisture level and obviously MORE water. You can also Pre-germinate the KBG (as long as it’s not coated with the Yellowjacket coating.) I put out a video on that in 2022 in my ugly lawn series for that year. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
@@TheHighlanderLawn Thank you so much for confirming what I suspected. I'll seed with the Barenburg RPR in July.
Thanks so much for this video. This has answered so many questions for me and most definitely sooo helpful
My apologies for the extremely late response. It has been an absolutely crazy spring. I have had a TON of renovations and sprinkler renovations and installs that I haven’t had time to put out anything more than my 2024 intro vid. But you are MOST welcome! Glad I could help!!
Warning !!! The AJ805e does not sell the replacement dethatch cylynder. The AJ801e does have replacement dethatch cylynder. Big difference.
Good to know thank you for the heads up.
These are some really informative videos. I tried getting a Sun Joe detacher but it’s unavailable everywhere. I ended up getting a Hyper tough detacher/scarifier from Walmart. It’s very easy to use and picks up a lot of debris. I think it will give the Sun Joe a run for its money. This should be your next comparison video.
I will take a look at that it’s good to know. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
That is good to know. I will consider that in the future. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
the sun joe is not available anywhere.
My apologies for not replying earlier. I have been crazy busy at work. This time of year they always seem to sell out with the spring rush. I know that the Senix dethatcher on Amazon is the exact same unit as the SunJoe AJ805e. If you shop several online retailers usually have the ability to set up alerts for when these items come back in stock. I am sorry that you haven’t had much luck finding one.
