I find old postage on envelopes, postcards and letters to be quite interesting. I find them often to be very historic and aestheticly pleasing. I like the old lined engraved stamps. You'll see that some have multiple postage stamps and some have multiple postmarks or both. Here is a group, notice I focus on the postmarks and the stamps. Plus some very early postage near the end of the video. En...

Vintage Glass Insulators II
Переглядів 1,4 тис.10 місяців тому
I review some of my insulators made by various manufacturers, including Mclaughlin and Maydwell. I found new interest in the insulators made by these "other" manufacturers. Insulators at Night took place outdoors in the dark, the insulators could only be seen by the light eminating from vintage lanterns. This was fun to make, enjoy. -Gil

1966 Plymouth Fury III - On the Road!
Nice bunch of vintage tools. Glad to see the motor run.
Hey, just found your channel. You got some very cool stuff. Good video Ill check out some more of them. That Motor is super cool.
I find them all the time I bust them up and put the pieces in my tumbler to make sea glass
That's a pretty good sounding radio! 🤗
The crackled insulator was done by heating the piece up in an oven and then running cold water over it. Most of the time it will simply crackle them, but they DO explode and can be very dangerous. I am a long time collector who started in 1979 at the age of 8, am a member of the webring ICON and set up and sell and trade insulators at the Springfield Ohio insulator show every November. I am not sure of your location, but if you can make it to the Ohio insulator show at Springfield, you will be blown away by the size and great people in the hobby at this show. If you look closely at the aqua Hemingray-42, you'll notice that the E in HEMINGRAY and the E in MADE are missing the middle bar. This is a nice, less common embossing error piece.

I have my grandpa’s want to work on👍
I've owned somewhere North of 75 vehicles. Sometimes 2 or 3 at once. I had one of these in Chrysler green 383 4 bbl. It was my friend's mom's before she bought a Merc Marauder. I bought it because I knew the car and how well it was taken care of and then found that it was a wonderful daily driver.
Anyone know where the kill button wires into the engine. TY, Bruce
Cool! I find these old glass (and ceramic) insulators facinating. I like to think how they lasted up on the poles in all kinds of weather for who knows how many years! You jave a nice collection of them. I enjoyed your video.
Sure are making much of that wooden knob, eh?
Hello bhaiya jaldi comments karo jaruri kaam hai
The wood grain dictates the way you use the drawknife and spokeshaves. That was a particularly nasty diagonally cut piece if wood! The 2 wooden handled 'rasps' are body files for dressing down lead body filler, used in car body repair, before polyester fillers came on the market.
You was using that drawknife upside down
Beautiful engraved stamps! And as you said: amazing detail! I especially liked those with the trains and sail ships. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, I really like the big steam locomotive. Thanks!

2:52 😕 I thought you'd show this more in-depth. It looks like it's not a typical screwdriver.
Great show! Love that Elgin! Just found your channel. It's very nice. You wouldn't happen to know what the color on that motor is called? I'm working on a project and I think that's the exact color I need.
Neat stuff! I have many antique/vintage tools either handed down from great-grandparents & in-laws or gifted to me because I build and restore things, mostly wood but some metal pieces. I have a few tools that I had no idea what they were called. Now I know I’ve got a cross-cut bow saw-so I can research them a bit. I also have a pretty large collection of files and haven’t ever heard the round ones called a rat tail file, but that does makes sense. I reckon I’ll call it that from now on. Cheers and thanks for sharing-would love to see more videos on old antique/obsolete tools :-)
All the Best!🔧🛠
Wow! That is a gorgeous Fury! Absolutely beautiful! Back when these were almost new, a girlfriend of my sister used to pick me up at my bus stop in her fathers white '66 Fury III four door hardtop with red interior. What a great feeling to have this attractive girl, about 3 years older than me, stop to pick me up in front of all the other kids at the bus stop! Woohoo! That Fury was just like yours except in white with red interior and no fender skirts. It was in that car one morning on the way to school that we first heard the Beatles song "Hey Jude". I'll never forget it. A real nice memory. Enjoy your Fury!!
Todas las estampillas las tengo
I've the exact same ride, it was kool watching you drive it seeing what I must look like when cruising in it - MOPAR !!!!
I just love the these cars from the 60's !Nothing like cruising in them and all the smiles and joy they bring to others around you!
The 64s were a favorite for sure. Just looked strong modern. I've owned quite a few Fords with 289's, always performed well. Have fun with it.
Sunbeam and Flexible shaft co So many until mid 80s products made by Chicago companies.
Is it for sale?
O many of old stamps $
Our family had that exact car, brand-new in 1966, fender skirts and all. Light blue with blue cloth seating. 318 CI V8, 2 barrel carb. Learned to drive in that car and it was the first car I got to solo in. We also had a white 1965 Fury 3 the year before. Loved hearing the cry of that starter motor again. It brought back so many good memories. Thank you!
I have a few scattered around my house here in western West Virginia. Apart from the occasional antique store, they are almost never seen. Fascinating collection, Sir.
Great information on a nice collection. Most cellphone young folk will not know what these are?
That video is really a work of art! Enjoyed it. The thunderstorm added a lot to the video. I used to have some, but the only ones I have left are two CPR ceramic insulators, white with blue lettering, and I don't even know where those are. Stored somewhere.
I spent a decade or more as a vintage collectables dealer. Theres tons of these out there, but that shouldn't be seen as a bad thing. The ingenuity and craftsmanship of the forst half of the 20th century is so Iconic! These things get re purposed, used as decor, as weird whiskey glasses lamps you name it. Its a fantastic thing. Thanks brotherfor sharing.
I’ve been collecting insulators for about 50 years. I still get excited when I find one. I have quite a few, but never enough!
Interesting ,thanks for sharing info on these Hemingway insulators ! I'm from Canada .Common names of insulators for the province of Ontario are Armstrong and Dominion.
Nice! I'm 50 years old and still own my late father's 4 door 1964 Ford Galaxie. When I was born I came home from the Hospital in it.
How I can send you about pictures stamp
That was shortly after Chrysler switched over to column shifting. Wise move. If you got Airtemp A/C, you got confort right up your alley. Put a 383 4bbl motor under your hood and you moved briskly down any road. Like the modular design.
0:26 tenho um 6 hp,jonshon 1969 motorzinho macho.
Sweet ride, I have the exact same car, except your factory radio still works . Beauty
The 1965-66 C body Mopars were some of my favs. That Fury 111 would be awesome with a 383.

I always liked the this styling cycle. My family owned a 1965 Plymouth Fury III that I used when I was learning to drive. Great car...comfortable, powerful, easy to drive, and nice looking
Nice collection sharing
Your Three 3 cents stamp is a rare one of value. "It has to heave the 'thick' line under the leaf. The one on the left at the bottom. "It was the secret water mark." There are other ones which look like it but they do not have the thick line under the leaf. The ordinary one is a 'thin' line. Check it out at auction sales for ones which have been authenticated and sold at auction. "Yours is in 'good' shape." Good luck.
I will check that out! Thank you.
