In this video, I am going to explain how we can create macros that allow us to convert field codes into plain text and plain text including codes into field codes.
I will show you first why we may need this. For example, I have this paragraph. I want to copy it to ChatGPT in order to make some corrections, but I don’t want to waste time re-inserting all the fields manually. So, I can simply:
1. Change the field codes into text, then
2. Copy it,
3. Make the corrections using ChatGPT,
4. Paste it back,
5. Change the text back into field codes.
To do this, we need to:
1. Copy the macros available in the link in the video’s description.
2. Go to View, Macros, View Macros, specify any name, then create.
3. Paste the copied module into this window.
4. Close this window.
Now, this macro will be available. To use it, we can open the file that has a paragraph with grammatical mistakes,
1. Apply the first macro to change the field codes to text.
2. Copy and paste it into ChatGPT and ask for corrections.
3. Copy the corrected paragraph and paste it back into the file.
4. Change the text back into field codes using the other macro.
