Ice Stops Play | A Frozen RHTT Train
Very cold overnight temperatures forced this Rail head treatment train (RHTT) to return to base as everything was frozen up, loco detached and the train put in a warm shed to defrost sorts it out.

Unexplained voice on the viaduct….
Переглядів 40910 місяців тому
On an everyday ride out on the bike , I visit Lambley viaduct on my own. As I was filming looking over the viaduct saying “it’s a long way down” a voice seems to agree with me saying “yes” I can’t explain it but never heard anything when I actually filmed it , only when I was editing at home. Please leave a comment good or bad as I would love to here the theory behind this, there is probably a ...

Riccarton Junction - Then and Now
Переглядів 4,2 тис.Рік тому
Riccarton Junction, in the county of Roxburghshire in the Scottish Borders, was a railway village and station. In its heyday it had 118 residents and its own school, post office and grocery store. The station was an interchange betwee n the Border Counties Railway branch to Hexham and the North British Railway's (NBR's) Border Union Railway (also known as the Waverley Route). The settlement of ...

Really Good at the Smoke Rings 😅
For some reason this reminds me of a Kazahkstanian news program
perfect , Clag and smoke rings, great way to start your day
I was around 9-10 years olf 1 Christmas I managed to sneak into to the sidings at Blackpool North I tried the door on 1 of the Deltics it was unlocked my heart beating like I could see it bouncing around in my chest I started messing with switches pressing buttons the engine started making noise I almost filled my pants running away thinking back how did I manage? Do they not have keys to lock the doors or for the ignition?
did you press a button in the cab or engine room ?
smoke rings 🤣
Why do i love this
My favorite loco.
My parents worked and lived there , I was born at Hawick after a train journey to Hawick 10th May 1941 now 83...
Wow you will have seen some changes , and not for the better !
I like how it blows rings
What a good thing we don’t have hundreds of these starting every day any more!
Yeah met office would need to put smog warnings out 😂
This is near me.
Starter motor must have took a hammering starting these beasts
Sounds like it's got asthma!
Smoke rings haha
I feel its pain and im the same every morning I struggle to fire into life😂 What a wonderful sight to see one of these old locos still alive and a testement to British engineering👍
I bet you could cook breakfast on that starter
16 cylinders. They aren’t sure witch one wants to be first ha ha
lol 👍
Absolutely awesome , Class 37 s scared me as a child, now they amaze me . Even Greta Thurnberg would love them , especially a cold start
Four main faults on the 37, Oh Fuck Wully Baxter, translated to oil, fuel, water, blower motors!
Correct 👍
I think I can I think I can lol
Good old Mossend, drove into it many times from Motherwell TMD to pick up wagons. Class 37 is still my all time favourite locomotive, cab heaters were shite though!
long coat needed in winter to keep the legs warm 🥶
It looks like the Hammer and cairn are on a hill called Black Preston,is it meant to be a secret,i doubt if that was the purpose.
No it’s just not a popular visitor location , so off the beaten track and easily found 👍
Good day mate 😂
What makes the loud clonk sound that starts around 1:53?
Multiple cylinders deciding to wake up and start firing, causes a weird firing order and sends vibration through the gear train and so on and just clunks around.
Great sound, but, u wouldn't be able to effect a quik getaway from a bank robbery. The bobbies would be on u lickety split :-)
Certainly not. 😂😂
I love how they smoke a ciggie first before even thinking about starting 😂❤
It was just chillin 😂
that doesn't look like a touch and go, more like a go around
Yeah they nearly touched , more a training flight lol
Have a great holiday. Never seen a take off from Liverpool before, great views.
Thanks this was last month lol and we did 👍
What must be the strain on starter motors and batteries to keep cranking
Built to last 💪
cool video!!
Thanks
Not hard to see why the Class 37 is is the greatest little loco that could... My all time favourite...They are beautiful, can go 'anywhere' with a great RA and still in service after many many years. We shall never see the like of these again.
That sound in the beginning could be in a horror movie! 😂😂😂😂😂
👻👍
Good clean energy.
Absolutely 👍
What type batteries?
Awesome👌🏻
Thanks
I think that the cylinder bores are rather worn therefore the PSI at TDC is below spec causing sluggish starting and white smoke, the exhaust smoke is ladened with unburnt fuel so it probably would be best to avoid smoking a cigarette with all that white smoke in the air.
luckily I don’t smoke then 👍
How can a three minute clip of film be so sad to watch, yet be so uplifting,, like opening a time capsule if you will.
Thanks for watching
Know exactly what you mean. I traveled this line many times between 1956 and its closure and remember this station well.
As a 74 year old who can remember the steam train, these kinds of video are sad in a good way. Sad that a way of life is lost forever, good to see some still care about what we lost. Long may they continue.
Yes it’s my way of keeping the line alive , looking back at old photos and videos 👍
Yet another grassy knoll station
Sadly yes
Why was this place abandoned? In the old pics there were houses
It seems that once the railways left so did the community, there is a few houses still lived in today but not the numbers like before.
From the Cross, which track takes you to the hammer please?
Head north out of Bewcastle up the hill ,then turn right onto the bridleway at Crossgreens. Follow this up towards Black Preston and you will find it 👍
@@Xpl0r will give it a go soon. Thanks
With a very heavy workload preserving and restoring old trains, and medicine I take for nerve and joint pain, I keep coming back to this video as a visual of what getting up in the mornings is like. Especially on three or four hours of sleep a night for weeks on end. At least people have what the locomotives don't: Coffee.
Why the diesel is not preheated? Smokes more than a steam loco and causes poisonous gases.
Needs new injectors though.
Enroute, in the middle of nowhere in particular, yet a halfway house, stopping off place to water up, take a rest, change of Locomotive as may be required. Still an idilic rural setting whatever your point of view. Certainly worthy of restoration and some working preservation.
All rather sad, we used to change trains there going to Scarborough for holidays and change again at Newcastle.
Yes , it must have been great travelling and changing at this station back in the day . All sadly gone now !
Im suprised trains like these dont hsve block heaters for the winter
0:36 huge smoke rings are great!
A poignant reminder of what’s been lost, not just the railway but a thriving community
Absolutely , gone in an instant
