Why do they take so much when it comes to the instant pay?

The problem with job software like this and many of this type workers are no longer employees. Instead you become a sub-contractor, and you're not subject to a 1099 form when you do your taxes. The stores pay less money, a third party now gets a cut, and the worker is left earning less with no benefits. LAME!

JYVE aint nuffn but a bunch of goofies. they dont want u to work the stores overnight but them deliveries come in late as fuck. damn goofies! fuck them! the delivery is estimated for 9am. you get to the damn store at 10am and the delivery isnt there. you dont get paid for that shit either. fuck them!

Pretty much the same experience I had. For me, it remains to be seen if the pros will outnumber the cons. The main potential "pro" of that type of work is obviously flexibility. Being able to work only when you want to, is attractive to me, because I have another hustle. But it seems work may not always be available. The cons are that you don't get the benefits, protections and rights of a normal employee. The company has zero liability if you're laid off, hurt on the job, wrongfully terminated, sexually harassed or anything else.. As of January 1st, 2020 it's illegal in the state of California for companies like Jyve to call you an independent contractor and avoid giving you those protections and benefits, but it's unlikely Jyve will be shut down. Most likely, there will be some compromises. (See California law AB5 and the "ABC test" to understand how CA determines who is an employee and who is a contractor) Meanwhile, for me, it's wait and see how much work I actually get, and how much I actually make per hour, and if that's worth sacrificing the protections and benefits other jobs offer.
