    i enjoyed your excitement! great flip through of both sizes for those not familiar with the planners. i just learned about the take a note a few weeks ago after discovering how bad the hobonichi paper has become. jetpens indicates the hobonichi paper is 47gsm. that is supposedly the same weight as last year but it just feels different/less. as you mentioned, hobonichi is not cheap. i’ve invested a lot and now i’m looking for a substitute. i have been so disappointed about my current planner situation but you certainly cheered me up with your enthusiasm. thanks for your laughter! thanks for sharing! 😊

    May I ask how long gel pens take to dry on the paper? I hate smearing and I'm worried that I'll hate the paper

    I cant tell exactly, but is the set up that the weekly comes right after the associated month? (hobonichi for instance does a separate section for months, then weeks...) im hoping this does the weeks right after the month because it would be so much easier to not flip through constantly thanks! :D

      Great question, I have a new unboxing video which goes through the A5 and B6, but to answer your question, the Take a Note does group the Monthlies together first, and then starts with the last week in December for the weeklies. You''re right about the constant flipping back and forth. LOL

    Thank you for this upload! I love the way there’s so many dashboard variations this release. If anyone here cares to know, it’s worth digging behind the 2025 to see if there’s any 18 month planners left, the ones that started in July 2024. They are 80% off and they might even be 90% off but 80% off. Disregard anything you see on a clearance sticker - and just take it right to the Michaels in-store scanner to confirm. It won’t work on your phone scanner. But I bought some of the 2425 planners for 80% off about two weeks ago. They don’t mark them or label them. They just sort of get stuck in there with the other ones, but they’re definitely on clearance.and the teacher planners too if anyone likes that layout. I’m referring specifically to the United States Michael’s just FYI.

      You are an absolute insider! I'm taking notes for sure. The 18 month planners in the past, GURL, I got those for $4, 5 dollars, but this year I wasn't so lucky. The 18-month planners are my favorite as you get so much for your money. There are still a few on the HP site that I'm hoping are still there for the Black Friday sale. Yes, the teacher planners were SO cute, I picked up that seasonal one with the boot on it for $12 I think? I always try to get a planner that is already decorated for projects.

    Why make a video but not include the information? 🤔

      Which information? The 15% coupon? I had one sent to me. They've been sending them out every other month. I hope they're doing well. It was my first UA-cam short. I didn't see where you could leave more info. "I was in Burbank Michaels on a business meeting. Popped in. Really nice store. Bought the Reading in the Garden sticker book. Clearance section was lit up!" Thanks for watching.

    Can you explain us how to order on the take a note website? I don’t understand the rate exchange of the Taiwan dollar to American dollars when I try to pay it doesn’t show me American dollars.

    • @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias
      @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias Місяць тому

      I was just about to purchase. I'm using Paypal and they'll show you the Dollar amount in American USD next to your payment method. It's great if there's any discrepancy with the merchant, of course. Last year, I bought mine for $40 from Amazon. It came the next day in the mail, easy peasy. I don't know if they're going to sell it again on Amazon (fingers crossed). I think your best bet is to use PayPal, see the USD price, and go from there. The pre-order has been extended until October 6th, so there's still a bit of time.

    I have never been consistent with planners, but I did journal a lot in the past. With my increasing responsibilities as I age and mature, I find myself planning for my weeks in a random notebook so I caved and bought a 2025 TAN planner for myself! I also want to inculcate the habit of daily journaling because I noticed the positive affects on my mental health. I was so excited when I got to know TAN because their planners are PERFECT for my needs - there’s sufficient space to journal, but also not as overwhelming as those with daily pages. Anyways, I’ve already pre-ordered and I really hope I can stay committed to using it next year. Currently binging TAN videos because I’m so excited 😂😂

      Thank you for the eloquent reply! You've gotten yours already?! You're really on it. I am hoping to pre-order mine from the company as their pre-order was extended for 2025. I hear you for all the reasons for journaling and positive mental health. I concluded that that's the reason I also got into light decorative planning. Just working with the colors, florals, and quotes, which I used to think were a bit cheesy, now it's my therapy. Almost cheaper than the real thing. lol Precisely about their pages. You can ignore the time stamping on the side and just journal that day, or you can write like I do a few notes on the horizontal weekly which begins each week. Or, write on the right-hand side some notes, and thoughts along with your journal, if your handwriting is small enough. Yes, the planners with the daily pages can be a bit daunting, but I think for light journaling the TAN is an excellent choice. I hope you enjoy it in the New Year. If you haven't experienced the 68 gsm, look out, it'll win your heart being able to use any pen you want. You don't have to be precious about it.

    I got a TAN Weeks B6 last year. And thought ... its too small in size. I can only speak for this planner but I found it had enough blank pages for me (77 in total) I liked it over the other TANs because it shows the full week not just three days. That being said the columns are quite narrow in an already petite book. But it actually worked for me. I LOVE THE PAPER, I LOVE THE SIMPLE LAYOUT, I LOVE THIS PLANNER ... that being said ... for 2025 I found myself ordering my old favourite the Koyuko DAYs and a LITE (both B6 Slim). So two planners, the plan being that one for work and one as a day to day common place. I am kinda wishing i just went with the larger TAN (like your 2024). I just thought I would need a larger space, but now I worry about the paper. The TAN paper is so so so good, you can feel that it has a bit of tooth to it (which is amazing). Especially for fountain pens. The dry time on others is just ... too long. I might, but only if there is overstock, order another TAN. I don't want to have too many planners laying around, I am already mourning the loss of potentially not having one for next year.

      (I'm sorry I didn't reply sooner. I didn't get an email about your comment) Yes, the B6 is in my cart. I wanted to try it out for weekly list-making. Lots of possibilities! Thanks for the recommendation and review of the B6. 77 is a lot more pages than the A5. LOL The too many planners things, yes, I feel that all too well. So glad you found the Days and LITE to work for you. I've used their notebooks and have found them in Barnes and Noble recently. The soft ring kind and love them! I love books that just sit flat!

    I love the Take A Note - I have been using mine as what I am calling my Journal of Positivies - a riff on a gratitude journal - and love love love it. The neutrality and paper and layout are fantastic. You are right about the pens!

    • @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias
      @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias Місяць тому

      Cool concept for a journal and a use case for the Take a Note! I have pens, caddies, and a carousel in three separate rooms. The fineliners, and markers do not die, so why would I throw them out. I'm trying to collect Tombows, bit by bit. I don't know if it's the paper manufacturing, the non-Sanzen 68 gsm old school paper (I don't see another planner that has it), but it's buttah! It's the little finer things in life in a hectic world. The Hobonichi paper has some kind of coating to it that must be perfect for fountain pens (but I don't plan with fountain pens but gel).

      Thanks for watching! (My previous reply was on my phone., LOL) Ok, I so highly recommend it, BUT do keep in mind that not seeing the whole week at once and just three at a time was a criticism that I heard before I bought it, as opposed to the Hobonichi's weekly. I weighed that and learned that the wider columns allowed me to write two separate lists: one for work, the other for household. Win-win.

    Where can I get the additional 15% off coupon? 😅

    • @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias
      @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias Місяць тому

      I hope the company is doing well because I have been seeing more of these extra 15% off Sale coupons from them in my email. I have received one every two months or so. It's Joanns that often offers an extra 25 % off coupon through Coupon Cabin, or better yet through the Edge browser automatically looks for coupons for you wherever you go. It's the only way to shop these days!

    Thanks for your thoughts! I pre-ordered the minute they put them on the site. Had a timer and everything. 😅 I found that it was better for me than the hobonichi because i felt terrible wasting all of the daily pages and i have a lot of wider nib fountain pens and the narrow collumns made it difficult to use them. Im excited about their new dated weeks planner too.

    • @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias
      @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias Місяць тому

      Yes, exactly...some days are just so busy that journaling every day, missing pages. I'm the type that would fixate on the empty pages! LOL If I could paint, that's one way to fill 'em, but they're meant for writing.

    The snoring dog in the background was everything <3 I really like the layout of the take a note. I like a horizontal for my weekly which it has and the verticals are perfect for daily todo-lists. But the only reason why this is not in my lineup is the lack of note pages. I wish it had more. I know some people use a separate collection notebook, but I've learned the hard way that if they are not in the same book as my planner I don't remember they exist. Thanks for the lovely video.

    • @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias
      @TheDailyPlannerMichelleMacias Місяць тому

      Yes! Precisely. It does lack the note pages, whereas the ever-popular Sterling Ink Common Planner has more than enough. (I saw the price of the SI Planners I wanted, and it was hard to justify it...this week as I haven't made my Take a Note order yet. They (Take a Note) have a B6 Slim biweekly (TN size) that intrigues me for around $14, I think?) It wasn't a long review of the planner, but I also would have showed how sturdy it is. Even after 9 months of daily wear and no leather cover, it's REALLY sturdy. I've been doing the notebook thing, so having the Take a Note and a few A5 notebooks is perfect for me. You're welcome. Thanks for watching!

      I have a TAN Weeks B6, it's not a slim but a bit shorter. I wrote my comment about it. It does have 77 blank pages in the back of the book. All numbered and gridded. For me this was enough, but I am going to a Kokuyo DAYs and LITE for next year (which was my 2021-2023 planner). just to have the extra inch in height but also to have more space. I am already not sure about the paper change. I love the TAN paper so much. I have used ink and HEAVY ink (think large Faber-Castell PITT brush used as highlighter amounts of ink) on pages, IN FACT same page once on the front and on the back, experiencing zero bleed through or paper pilling. Paper also doesnt really crinkle as much as the others will almost ... onion skin. Year is still long, I might get a TAN for 2025, but have told myself only if I see my one local having pre-order over stock. I am even thinking about getting the same one I got this year, the tiny yet mighty B6. I am 87% sure I will get a TAN for 2026. I am not happy that the DAYs has gone from a two book system to a single book, a feature that I did not know about prior to ordering. I think it will just be bulky for no reason.

      This is what I was thinking too, but I was planning to use a hobonichi cover for an A6 TAN, then slide a A6 lightweight MD notebook in the back pocket for notes. Then it's still in one package, lol
