A genuine opinion to anyone reading this:- PLEASE DON'T TAKE A DROP YEAR. It isn't worth it unless you are extremely prepared for the mental tuffness. i scored 72 percent overall in 12th pcm and didn't perform very well in jee either. I was about to switch to either BCA or BBA, most probably BBA cause i was very intereset in management or buisness related works and investing or trading stuff, but i also was interested in some tech stuff(APPLE was my dream company at once). I don't know how stupid I was to take a drop year and enrolled in a very expensive coaching but trust me, i didn't get a single word from them. I wasn't able to understand any single thing and was scoring very badly in mocks and not able to solve questions. on top of that, i am a very heavy procastinator and massive ADHD and was never able to concentrate on anything. I took even big risk and ended up leaving the institute in September realising i was only wasting my parents money, i resorted to self study from youtube and i am able to solve some questions on board level but mains or advance is still far from my reach. My parents are extremely fed up from me and have became extremely unsupportive now after so many stupid decisions of mine. If I was living in some European or North American country, I would have been kicked out from my house and ended up jobless or on the streets working on wages. this improvement exam in 2025 and and jee mains in 2025 will be my last hope now. If anything goes good, then fine but I really don't see any hope. My primary target is April attempt and boards improvement in 2025. else i will do BBA most probably and immigrate to a better country for a better future. My parents don't even know that I am addicted to smoking and slightly alcoholic at the age of 18 just to cope with all the mental stress I saw this year. I considered myself athiest all these years and grew up in a really normal household but I literally started going to Gurudwaras and Mandirs and even mosques to find some mental piece which is slowly working but not a very great pace. All my friends are enjoying in college doing there courses whereas I am rotting at my house badly regretting all my stupid decisions. I wish I had taken up BBA earlier and worked on my future and followed my interests but today I wake up and look myself with a massive guilt in front of the mirror and I feel so bad for my parents on how I am just wasting my father's money, even though we live in an upper middle class family but the money I am wasting, i still feel bad about it. I might also prepare for IPMAT and try for joint integrated courses in BBA and MBA in IIMs, but still I am slowly giving up my jee hope now. This year was extremely depressing for me and I have no idea what's coming next year. I am extremely depressed and suicidal from all my stupid decisions. Please pray for me everyone and good luck everyone who is preparing for all these competetive exams. Good luck and Good bye
