When I lived in England in the 80's with the USAF, I was always going out with girls. British guys hated us! Spent HELLA money like it grew on trees and had a blast. I actually find this interesting. To be honest, the experience(s) you had are more likely "regional" rather than "across the board". In the midwest region of the US, I would think you ladies would have been treated with a lot more respect. Granted, I am a bit older than the two of you, but were I actually single and closer to your ages, would still show you the respect you deserve as young ladies. Were you to have say.... visited a club or such, well, you could definitely expect to be hit on by guys, but not in the open street like you are some sort of prostitute or what not. Having (and still) visiting the state of Florida frequently, it is a given that one will run into tourists from around the globe, and I for one am always happy to meet them and try to put a "good foot forward" regarding our country. Most are rather standoffish, likely because they have been warned about crime etc here, especially in some regions. (ie Large Cities). But again, I am always fascinated to speak to folks from other countries. The only place I caught from your video, that you stated to have visited was San Francisco and I would have warned you away from that crap hole of a city and would have directed you to far better visiting destinations etc. As for American men having "more confidence" from how you related it, I wouldn't actually call that as much confidence, as I would brazen rudeness, like you are some sort of sex object of the like, but again, would credit that to being a more regional thing. Last, I think I can speak for a lot of American fellas in saying that we love the ladies Aussie accents! If you ever decide to come back, you need to take in one of the National Parks etc and stay clear of the entire west coast cities etc and I would be my next paycheck that your experience would be far different.
