I love your videos, but every now and then can you flip your phone sideways and record a video in landscape mode? I like to watch on my 65" TV to admire the fine details of your work, but when you hold your phone vertically in portrait mode, your video is only about 12" wide on a 65" screen. :)

I used Helsman Semi Gloss Oil Varnish

When the weather gets them which would be in about 6months or so you just lightly sand them then respray and they'll dance forever

How do you maintain the ceiling and beams afterwards?

I've been following your videos for a while now, I'm about to restain my Cedar plank outdoor patio ceiling, I don't know what they put on it when it was new, but it's been 5 years and it's fading, I'm going to use sodium per carbonate (oxiclean) to clean it. Then I want to restain and seal it with polyurethane or varnish or something, but I would prefer to do a single coat brushed on. what do you recommend that will seal this cedar so that I can let it go for another 5-10 years and still look good?

Do you not have to mask the windows and the door off when spraying the urethane?

Quick question brother How did you prepare the ceiling ? Did you apply sanding sealer or just applied straight vanish after sanding ? Also for all around as well the timber and post ?

Did you light sand after first coat or it’s not necessary?

I ran into this issue, the walls were wood panels . I used an orange gel,.. it was slow going. I used hot wayer and a sponge ,this worked better, then i used a small 4 inch painters scraper. It was a pain in the utt because it had vertical wood details every 2 inches.

You are a great painter. I'm amazed. It seems everyone is painting latex over oil on wood trim and metal. It's insane! Rubber paint on wood and iron? That defies reason.

I am building an outside patio. I would love to do the ceiling with these boards .however I am concerned with cleaning and moisture on the boards being outside. My contactor recommended siding for this but I really want rhe wood boards. Please help tell me they can last outside and be cleaned.

Thanks for the info. I have a question if you don't mind me asking. I dwell in a mountainous area where winters are harsh owing to knees-deep snow and roofs are invariably made of wooden planks with plastic and soil on top. I want to polish the undersides of planks without having to install ceiling in a bid to get a natural wooden look. Could you please recommend a finish PU/Oil that would suit my situation the best? Thanks in advance!
