My sister, apply henna to your hair to hide the grayness of your hair
My sister, apply henna to your hair to hide the grayness of your hair
Apply henna to your hair
I was feeling a bit unsure but my subs are urging me so I’m gonna go for it!!!
Apply henna to your hair
You can use different additives to change the color of henna stain, so it won’t come out so copper like on your grey strands. I have done it with a lot of success 😊.
I love the red but worry there might be too much “orange,” right?
Love your nails!💅 Why shouldn't you use metal with henna?
Idk. It’s just some kind of problem with the plant vs. the metal
Tysm for the nail compliment. I did just trim them be m cause if length 😩
🤞for good results with the bloodwork!
Still waiting! 😩
I have a greek yogurt every day, and for me that makes me regular.
Yogurt used to work - coffee too but those times are long-past. lol
I used to drink several diet cokes a day, and when I stopped it did take a while for the cravings to go away. Every once in a while I will want one, and if I do get one I never finish it. A few sips takes care of the craving for me.
It gets better each week. I notice I just don’t think about it. Maybe it’s just getting out of the habit. 🤷🏻♀️
How has it been with eating eggs again?
Love it so much 💗
How much butter do you use?
I Do about a stick for a steak or two burgers.
It took me one year of best grass fed beef to heal. Never introduce slave sheeple toxic waste food. Best for you would be lion style. But my wife can not get rid of the last carbs. So she can not fully heal.
@@gjahncke agreed. I just cut out cream and butter. Down to just meat and now eggs. 🙌🏻
@@gjahncke we can’t make loved ones try it sometimes.
Good luck and lot's of best grass fed beef.
I take Nature Made D3, I guess the soy you're referring to is the soybean oil? Fortunately it doesn't seem to bother me.
My ND told me I should buy nothing with fillers that are known “triggers “ to auto immune ppl. It was a bit challenging to source the supplements that don’t have it 😳
I lost weight with eggs mixed with sardines put in the air fryer, taste better..twice a day btw.
Sardines are super. Idk if fasts w/them are sustainable long term but interesting to try 🤷🏻♀️
Heavy whip Breve are amazing.
💯 😋
Looks yummy!
🤞🤞 I hope you continue to heal and can get to the point of not having to be so strict with your diet.
Me too 💯
Your skin looks much less ruddy, which must mean healing!
I was hoping it meant that 🎉
I love the positive signs you have so far. Hoping it continues for you.
Tysm ❤
I think learning the language shows you're willing to assimilate to the culture, and I think it also shows respect for the culture/country. Do you have to pay income taxes in Mexico, as part time residents? If they have income tax.
No. Just one country or the other. 🎉
I'm studying Norwegian, Spanish, Hawaiian, and Japanese on Duolingo. I really like Norwegian. What is the mail system like in Mexico? Is it reliable?
My friend receives her relatives postcards but I wouldn’t trust expensive things in the mail. I should do Norwegian. Duh. Lmao
SWEET deal!!!!
"Hidden Valley Ranch" packets include both Maltodextrin AND MSG~ so I'd be looking to those as major culprits, at least for myself. That being said, I do hear you saying you feel that you have clear issues w/dairy. Personally, I do not~ & I'm incredibly grateful for that, though I'm not a huge dairy hound. Beef is absolutely my food love~ 100% would be devastated if I discovered I could no longer have beef. I am a post-meno woman who has never used HRT, so now you do know of one. =) Have looked into it a couple times over the years, but fortunately the symptoms never progressed to any level of desperation or even real need. Plus, in weighing all the pros & cons, they just were not for me. Again, I also do not have autoimmune issues or any diagnoses of any kind. I am 58 yrs old, have not had a menstrual cycle for 5 yrs now. I am currently dealing w/a cervical/uterine prolapse however, which is a somewhat natural response to lowering estrogen levels in the body. Will likely need a partial hysterectomy, keeping my ovaries intact for the small amount of estrogen they still provide. Ongoing, dragging my feet a bit~ not a fan of surgery, however commonplace this one has become. No bueno, imho. The fat component has been super important for leveling things out for me, as in critical actually. Considering I ate almost zero fat or red meat for about 40 yrs, it makes sense. As long as I keep my fat intake way up, I do really well. I also take a few specific supplements that are the result of intense, ongoing research & experiementation. Latest addition is high dose B1, in fat & water soluble forms~ TTFD, Benfotiamine (thiamine)~ which I encourage people to look into for themselves. Fascinating, broad spectrum support throughout the body, & yet another vital nutrient that is impossible to supply enough of on our own. Haven't had alcohol for all the same reasons listed above, same as you spoke of here~ body & brain just don't want it. Oddly, that happened over 10 yrs ago, long before I went super low carb, then carnivore/meat based. My sugar intake went up at that point, which makes sense, & that was the biggest addiction to phase out these past few yrs. I've tried edibles several times, but they tend to make me a bit anxious~ which is what happened decades ago w/smoking it. Not sure why, but I do sometimes miss the altered head space feel of either booze or THC. Just not enough to override my body & brain's rejection of it, if that makes sense. Great updates on your progress~ it's so interesting to experience all that's involved in taking back control of our health & wellness. Quality of life is what it's all about, & it can be surprising to discover what that means for us, individually~ especially when we truly allow nature to take it's course, so to speak. Ok, waaaaay gone long again down here~ shocking, right?! Tty next time, take care & most importantly, enjoy your life dangitSammy in AZ
I hope eggs are OK for you.
Yes. I introduced them this morning and a-ok 👌
Since I retired I have my main meal in the middle of the day. For the most part that has helped me eat less in the evening.
I just intuitively seem to be hungry earlier then not so much [comparatively] later.
I'm definitely going to try the braid headband.
I just love it. And you can see - I never even tried it before! <3
We all must know that eating bad(GREAT) food is NEVER healthy, but for your own mental well-being. And that is debatable. In Moderation. Eat fish, veggies, etc.
Thanks so much for your thoughts 🙂
I think the hair stick could also be used as a shawl pin.
That’s certainly interesting. My friend G loves shawls and gave me one to use 💕
@@Tamara_R_Blodgett I should probably specify it would work best with crocheted or knitted shawls, it can be put between the stitches.
I do like the braided headband.
Not bad for a first time try 🤷🏻♀️👌
"Brick tongs"
Absolutely digging your vids on MX. I'm your age and have had the same goals of living down there for decades. Finally got our temp res last year. Haven't decided where to land just yet, not sure if we want to handle the summer heat on the coast. In Maz what quality of life would you say $2500 after rent/buying could a couple expect to have? Have you considered sharing your alll in budget not including your purchase costs? BTW into the carno diet also but haven't watched your vids yet. New sub keep it up.
Thanks so much for your comments 🙏🏻 I have shared a lot with regard to budget especially with the casa but since Hubs is more private than I I thought it best to keep a few deets for our current abode private. After rent or buying if you had 2500$ still? You’d be golden in Maz but I could not speak to other areas at this stage. Tysm for subscribing!!! 💟
Are you saving the fat?
I pour it back over the top. 🎉
Yum! Can you do a short showing your supplements bottles and regimen?
Yes. I’ll probably put up a vid just of those. 😁
Seed oils sneak up on me later~ never right away~ camping out in my cells, planning my destruction. They're evil, imo. Some people have no issue w/them. As much as I liked mayo, I gave it up until I could come up w/a homemade one that tastes exactly Best Foods. We all have our ride-or-dies, Best Foods was one of mine. Love that stuff. Interestingly, when I gave it up a couple years ago, it was like anything else in that it simply faded out for me~ like diet soda & iced tea. I did try homemade mayo a couple times, but found I wasn't wanting/using it enough to care anymore. We each find our own way w/such things, for sure. I love trying it all out, & then doing it some more, things do change over time- we know this. I've been using coconut aminos for a few years now, love that stuff too~ even more than I loved tamari or soy sauce. You might try it & see what you think. Great for teriyaki, honey mustard, various meat marinades, etc. It's so interesting to experience palate changes, appetite shifts- all of it really. Most of all, I love being in charge of my health overall. It's awesome. Sounds like you're experimenting with plenty these days~ interesting to hear your updates. *Btw, absolutely agree that nutrition can & does heal 90% or more of what ails us. It's a fascinating, ongoing quest for me- forever & ever, Amen. Can't imagine living it out any other way. See you next timeSammy in AZ
Sammy I love your thought-provoking insights. I don’t use mayo much but when Hubs performs magic in the kitchen - I step back and take it in 🍿 we will see where I shake out in regard to weight loss but just having the proper meds for thyroid makes me feel more at ease and the “assurance” that if I continue to eat this way (slow reintroduction of non-inflammatory foods) I should see my antibody number go down. You guys keep me honest. Love ya 💋🥰 ( you make me smile with your emoticons) 💯
Doing yard work uses different/more muscles than walking. I've also found out I sometimes get more of a work out digging holes to plant than walking 2 miles. Could the nausea be from the thyroid meds? Your skin does look much better.
Different muscles?!?! Hell yes. Lmao. I am Still Sore haha 💕
You can make your own mayo and use olive or avocado oil.
I’ve tried that pre done Costco brand and man - no me gusta
Ironic connections...I have a similar story, though I did it all solo, after my children had flown the coop. In 2008 I left Oregon in the snow, piled essentials in the back of my Toyota Tro in 2008 and headed south in the snow....towards the border. San Miguel was my destination due to a Waldorf school there. So, I have been there for sixteen years, first in a permacultura casita and recently closer in. I once drove back to Oregon via El Espina del Diablo, ending up in Mazatlan, which appeared very touristy at first glance. I have a longing for the sea, but a fishing village on the coast is preferable, if not the Hebrides. Looking through the lens of Estados Unidos, I see Mexico with clarity and looking through the lens of Mexico, I see the clarity of Estados Unidos mas claro. Amazing parallels to our journeys; and yes, the saga of what led to it all and the sagas since then are worthy of being told around a fire ring, not online!
Absolutely. Though in talking about the [sometimes] intimate journey it is equal parts cathartic and perhaps is a help to others. I wake up once in awhile and am overwhelmed by all I’ve done, lived through and accomplish and feel grateful to have a full, busy vibrant life that’s filled with the unexpected. Tysm for your words 🙏🏻
Keep at it! I am hearing in many forums like Dr. Judy Cho and Kelly Hogan that we need to add more fat and as frustrating as it is,also allow the healing before our bodies will shed weight. I know from your other videos you are also big on getting outdoors amd walking, getting sunlight amd enought sleep...also important in lowering cortisol, balancing hormones and reducing inflammation. Anxious for an update on the supplements your naturopath had you start.
Hi :) I do think adding fat is the answer, though it "feels" counterintuitive! My cortisol is good, thank God. I just began an HRT strategy from my ND that I'll try for a time and see if the improvements are significant enough to stay with it. I am so anxious to TAKE anything! That's been the biggest challenge so far. Check out my vid tonight. It's uploading atm. Thanks for your thoughts!
Right there w/you on not wanting to ingest artificial, off-species hormones. I figure I've made it this far w/out HRT, no way am I going that route post meno, by 5 yrs now. I am however still researching various natural alternatives, being quite deep into it again these past couple months. I like the idea of a "multi"type supplement w/hormone balancing properties, yet still must dissect each component, since most of them are geared toward active phase of menopause. So far, not a whole lot to be found for us post gals, other than the basics like DHEA, magnesium, boron, etc~ which I currently take seperately. I've also been supplementing fulvic/humic acid for various reasons, mainly that our soil is drastically depleted of these & they are critical it seems for a variety of things; immune health, digestive, skin, allergy, anti-inflammatory & more. So I take a liquid form that I'm happy with the sourcing & testing of. Might be something of interest for you to look at. ANYhow, yes~ it's an ongoing odyssey for sure. Would love to just eat species appropriate & call it good, yet I'm not convinced that's comprehensive enough for every single one of us. Women tend to run a bit more complex, overall~ makes sense that some add'l attention be given to our body's systems in this 2nd half of life. Seemingly on our own, considering the paltry findings among available medical/scientific studies. Happy August up there~ hope you're enjoying your summerSammy in AZ
Sammy, you're ALWAYS so wise and I never tired of hearing from ya! Agreed, there seems to be a superficial, "skim-coat" for us primal older bitches! I only wish we knew more. Since we are designed to carry children, certainly we would possess a more complex system. That's just the facts, jack. I want very much to support my body with the proper consumables so it has the raw material to function well. I don't think my elimination protocol will be short-lived. Figure I've got at least 90 days. And I am still experimenting with my lean/fat ratio so my subs can have data for their own journey that might prove successful. Thanks again 🥰
With all the issues with HRT in the past, I'd be very cautious about doing that.
I know it. That's why I'm not quick on that draw!. I figure HRTs are a BIG default with docs, regardless of their discipline of MD or ND 🤷♀
@@Tamara_R_Blodgett When I went through menopause, I think my dr. mentioned HRT but didn't recommend it at that time because I wasn't having any issues. She's not mentioned it again. But I've been lucky and menopause was pretty easy for me.
*would love to see the hamstring workout! Previous comment was before hearing that part. Also, your hair is looking shiny and healthy!🎉
Thanks for your positivity! I've really been struggling with my health and have now gotten *serious!!! I will be chiming in with my updates as I go along. Again - day by day. Tysm for your thoughts!😍
The more people I speak to that are treated with naturopaths the more I am hearing how many supplements and products they are pushing along with all of their fees. Similar to docs with their big pharma kickbacks. I almost wonder if I/we wouldn't be better off consulting Dr. Elizabeth Bright or Dr. Benedetto(I will check this name, just started followimg his fb group amd lots of testimonials from others under the comments) or one of these other doctors that are educating us on youtube and still taking patients via call or a google meet. I'm not sure about eggs either. I need to get some of those patties! Another page I was following Isabella Wentz(hashi's sufferer, Root Cause author and 'Thyroid Pharmacist') recommended selenium and myoinositol(she listed the specific amounts) to lower tpo antibodies. This is all SO much to navigate!
I just got her book (The Root Cause) and found it to be a bit tough to get thru and slightly outdated but I did glean things to adopt. The ND was better this next time but I still feel like it’s a racket and not too diff than a traditional MD in their styling of how they “treat.” I do feel that NDs think outside the box and are coming from a different/ angle or view things they a different lens …. Tysm for your feedback 💟
If you were not married, i would have asked to meet up with you when i come visit early next year
Thanks for that - I think. Lol. Have a great day 🤩
Re: wearing hair down, I think in medieval (?) times, wearing her hair down at the wedding signified the bride was a virgin. Whether she was or not probably. I find I miss walking if I don't too, and my pup can be more ornery if she doesn't get her walks in.
I’ve always hated “the trudge” but find I miss it, which is weird lol. Braiding a lot more now. I’m actually impatient too. Haha
Ypu make me chuckle with some of your blunt comments. 😂 Here for the Hashi's stuff and any little tidbits of info. Will check out the other channel you mentioned and linked. .I will be 54 in August and am also sick and tired of being sick and tired and do not plan to use my day as a free pass to eat favorite foods either(first time). Also, THANK YOU for keeping any political stuff off here and saving it for your Rumble(I had to google what that even was).
I don't mean to offer comedy but I guess it slips out anyway. haha. I've had a teeny bit of positive progression since I began the thyroid protocol (I expected this but I'm not sure how fast I'll see bennies), my bday was a little bit less "fun" but it's about weighing what's really important, long-term. Sure, politics aside - it is difficult for us to affect change as one person. Talking about the state of things is more a catharsis than an actionable dialog and I prefer to keep my content on YT more delineated. 🤷♀ Thanks so much for your thoughts! 💙
Look into Thyrotrophin PMG by Standard Process. It acts as a decoy from attacking your thyroid which allows it to heal. I just started it and in 3 months I’ll have my bloodwork done to see if there’s any improvements. I’m also doing carnivore but mostly lamb rib chops.
I will. I'm nothing if not Ms. Try-it-all-Queen. lol. Really appreciate your thoughts and help 😁🙏
I totally get not wanting to do the synthetic meds. Right there with you. Have been pretty strict since mothers day of no gluten, grains, seeds, seed oils and need to recheck labs but sugar and chocolate have crept in lately so I need to reign it back in. Did you know you can do a telemed consult with Dr Bright? Also, sorry to say eggs MAY need to come out until you get your autoimmunity under control. It is so hard to navigate all of this. Eat the fatty meat(ribeye, burger, chuck roast, decaf coffee if you keep going with coffee, and the sardines. Also follow Lisa Carnivore Doctor. She is great. Anita of Ketogenic Woman. Sending you healing vibes.
Also BACON...
Tysm for all your insights. I guess I was pretty emotional. I have done a strict elimination diet of 30 days but I will perform another beginning tomorrow. My aim is to take coffee out completely at this stage as part of that rigor. I will look into a consult with Dr. Bright bc I trust her. She seems knowledgeable and grounded. I’ll also look into who you’ve mentioned here.
How were your tpo antibodies?
They're quite high: 752
Do you think you'll continue with this doctor?
No way. I'm going to get what I need accomplished in the short-term and not return. Maybe all that she has put forward will work and that would be GREAT, but I can't stand how much she cost for the time-value. Bleh.
