I know for the AR15 Hexmag conversion of 10 to 30 round you need the long spring. This is for an AR10.... Did you need to use a longer spring for the mag to cycle properly, or was the stock spring good enough?
In my state 30 rounds is legal. But they sell the 10/30 ones at academy and I didn’t know it only was a ten rounder. How ridiculous is that that long of a clip and only have ten rounds. Just make a 10 round clip damn.
Maybe silly question... could you thread a screw in place of the rivet and would this be compliant or does it need to be a rivet? If it needs to be a rivet, then does breaking the rivet head but leaving the rivet in render it non-compliant? Really looking for an easy way to be able to swap springs when I go out of state and come back... Also as far as I am aware previous generations/versions of the hexmag didn't have the rivet, does that mean those are non-compliant now?
The interesting thing is *:* If someone has a CA compliant rifle with a mag lock, then the only way to clear a double feed jam is to remove the baseplate from the magazine, because with the bolt jammed back, the upper won't separate from the lower, so you have to remove the rivet to remove the baseplate.
I dont want to convert the mag, I just want to take it apart to clean it. All my mags have a rivet in the floor plate and the button cant the depressed...WTF
I found that the retention isn’t very much the same at all with the 10/30 5.56 mags Have u had any issues with that? Just asking Otherwise great video, thank you
U can just use a pair of needle nose pliers to break the rivet head off if u don't wanna scratch or mar up the base plate. Takes 10secs. Thanks for the vid! Edit : Also, anyone converting an AR 10/30 , u'll need a new 30 rnd spring also. A spring from any 30 round mag should work
Compared to the magpul 308 20 rounds springs it's about 2 coils short. Make of that what you will.
Thank You
Wanna move out of CA so bad either gotta waste money and buy new mags completely or go this route ….

It’s good for states that don’t let you have 30 rds but you want a magazine that is still that size.
I agree, congrats on leaving.
Thanks Russian Spy! 😂❤

I just want to clean the magazine but i think it's superglued down wont come off
Is the spring strong enough to fully cycle all 20 with no problem?
Congrats on getting out of California.
Perfect thank you!

You need to use a full size 30rd spring. I converted 10/30 hex mags to 10rd Beowulf, need the fullsize spring
@@joshuareynolds2421 what spring ya use?
@@joshuareynolds2421 no you don't lol just stretch out the springs and itll have retention just like it had the blocker on it.
