Love your work, it’s really beautiful. I went on a nature walk with a local artist and we did negative drawings and I absolutely love doing them. I bought Sarah renae Clark’s colour cube as I was really struggling with colours but then didn’t know what to do with them 😂 I then discovered Denise love on UA-cam and she does abstracts with the colour palettes. It’s been great as I’ve been using colours that I wouldn’t typically used which has helped to push me out of my comfort zone. Thank you so much for sharing this, I feel inspired!

Try putting the Meltz in a water brush, it works great!

You can also use Zest It pencil blender - it sure of the price difference but that works well :)

Those pencils look great and using the blender the pictures you will draw/paint will be very interesting

Hi Zoe lovely haul hun I have the 36 set of derwent lightfast I have the full set of derwent colour soft lumerance holbines and Neo colour 2 I want to full set of Derwent drawing and the rest of light fast pencils ✏️ I’m obsessed with colouring pencils.. I have the Albert durier colouring pencils and Pablo’s and polys they are beautiful pencils to use. I use these pencils in adult colouring as I find they are nicer to blend then those horrible cheap colouring pencils ✏️ I also have the 100 set of colour soft I did have the 72 set they brought out the 150 set but only 28 of them are open stock the rest u have to buy in the set in the tin it’s annoying cause I really don’t want to buy 1 pencil to be replaced just to get it in the 150 set and the 150 set is a bit expensive at the moment hear in Australia.. I wish I could post my adult colouring in the comments to show what I can create in these amazing colouring books that are on expensive paper thank you for sharing ❤❤❤😊😊😊xxxx

I think your artwork is absolutely beautiful. I love your colour choices and especially picking out the brights. I've been on a similar journey exploring colour. I used to draw in graphite a lot when I was younger and never really explored colour, so I too realised sometime last year that although I know a bit about line and texture I didn't have any real knowledge of colour theory, mixing and what was my preference. I've enjoyed watching various artists on you tube and exploring the colour palettes they use, like yourself I think the Muted tones are very sophisticated and beautiful but I find in my own work that I don't get such a pop of enthusiasm as I do when I use brights. The endorphins that a bright page releases for me is something to be cherished. I loved seeing this journey in your own sketchbook. 💚

I have watched many of your sketchbook tours and obviously I really enjoy them. I use you Mandela ideas for inspiration. I like your use of color and your interesting commentary. I have been painting and now sketching for the last 25 yrs and find your work to be most helpful to take me out of my comfort zone. I am doing my best to use different color schemes and different doodles. I hope to see your large art soon! Just go for it!!! It really is true that when you let go it really pays off for you.... Just keep having fun and spreading the joy!

this is so very helpful! I am going to put this into practice with my pencils and neocolors- I did it with my watercolors but never considered doing it with my other supplies. such a feeling of freedom from trying to coordinate from flipping pages back and forth in a swatch book! loving this series you are doing 😊🤗

Please don’t let anyone guilt for the art supplies you were using. I’ve been using White Nights watercolors for about 20 years and just love them, and the Durwent pastel pencils. ❤ your channel!

I absolutely love White Nights’ watercolors too and have been using them for over a decade. Don’t let anyone bully you for your art supply choices. ❤ your channel.

Your brighter yellows will probably be labeled as lemon,cadmium, chrome, golden, sun yellow or even banana ( Derwent lightfast). At least they are in my pencils.

Don't discard the watercolor you called the "unnatural green"! 😂 It's hard to know for sure since monitors aren't all the same but it looks like it could be viridian which is a great mixing color if you look it up online there's several bloggers that show great mixing colors together. I love the opera rose or a color like it with viridian it's just gorgeous and if you play around with more of pink or more of green it even does gorgeous grays. My favorite thing is playing with mixing to see what I can do with two or three colors. Of course the internet is lovely with helping since I'm fairly new. 😂 This was my first video and I'm looking forward to watching more, so glad you ended up in my recommendations list. New subscriber! 😊

Is this really the time to be raving about White Nights, a Russian company? Maybe better to support Rosa Gallery - a Ukrainian company, or Roman Szmal, a Polish company.

Nice haul! I found a set in amazon of white nights that is a mix of pastels and metallics, six each. Where I live there is a full 12 metallics set (also quite much cheaper) but couldn't find that in Amazon. Good luck with hunting art supplies, waiting forward to see more swatches!

Love seeing coloured pencil hauls! :) Derwent Lightfasts are my fave pencils, I can heartily recommend the 'Foliage' colour in that range as a beautiful natural Sap Green colour, it's my fave pencil in the range. Nice greens are also Racing Green (a dark green) and 'Basil' (a nice deep mid green), or 'Mountain Green', which is similar to Basil, but a touch more bluey. Their 'Sun Yellow' is a bright primary yellow that adds sunshine to other colours when layered and is my fave yellow in any range, the DL colour 'Yellow' is a slightly warmer yellow, and 'Amber Gold' is a lovely Indian yellow type colour that is between yellow and orange. In Luminance, I would recommend 'Chrome Oxide Green' as a nice mid green, and 'Medium Cadmium Yellow' as a bight mid yellow. Hope that helps :)

I've been loving Indian Yellow in Luminance lately, though it's not super lemony. In Lightfast I find myself using Sun Yellow and Mustard the most. Stephanie Kilgast has a video from a few months ago with swatches of *every* Luminance pencil, so you might find that helpful to look at!

Hello Zoe! I believe the yellow you are looking fir in the Luminance is BISMUTH YELLOW and LEMON YELLOW. These pencils are incredible! I might buy an entire set!! Will you be creating some art using them??

I got a couple from Jacksons and love them as well! they don't ship to the US (Pith supply) so I will have to wait til Jacksons brings in the new sizes..hope they do so soon!!
