«Mother Rat» is a one-woman band from Novosibirsk, Russia, formed in 2024 by Olga «Mother Hel» Nikolaeva. The band's work is dedicated to C.S. Lewis's «The Chronicles of Narnia» series and combines the sounds of synthesizers and gusli, a traditional Russian folk instrument.
The album «Just Beginning of The Story» was recorded in the author's home studio and is dedicated to the first book of the «Chronicles». It tells the story of the creation of Narnia and the emergence of a connection between our ordinary world and the world of magic. Digital and analog synthesizers, as well as gusli and Finnish kantele were used during the recording.
