Randall's Little Adventures
United States
Приєднався 17 січ 2012
Life is not about working an 8 to 5 grind until we leave this earth. Take time for yourself. It is so important for your mental health. I left Corporate America and now am following my passions for the outdoors and living my life. I want to make a connection with people and show that they can carve out some time for themselves as well.

When you Actually set a Tent up Correctly
Good evening Sir! Well, it took me longer to watch this video than expected! Like someone else said, some damn good improvements to that grill! The food looked amazing! Next question, when is your next adventure in the big camper? Take care my friend!!
Thank you so much my Friend! I know there is a two week planned in April in the travel trailer. Going to hang out in the super exciting state of Arkansas.
A beautiful sunny day in the wintertime. I thought the windchimes was a perfect sound for your video.
Thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed it.
Char-Broil needs to hire you to head up their Product Development! You made some great modifications to that tabletop grill. I’m with you on much preferring charcoal. But... Those ribs looked delicious. And your sweet dog concurs. 😆
Thank you so much!, but I am pretty sure I just made their naughty list after this video lol. They were decent enough. I sure didn't back away from the table still hungry. The pooch doesn't know if they were good or not since the little bites, I cut up for her, just got inhaled LOL.
Good morning!!’ Man, I normally catch your videos the moment they post…. I missed this one by about a day. That stew looked amazing! As someone else said, it shows how long it can take to cook something outside…. And just think if it were colder! Fantastic video, I really liked it! I look forward to some cooking adventures with you in the future!! And for the record, the stew was better than the MRE on our last camping trip???? lol Take care my friend!!
Thank you so much Brother! The stew was delicious :) it was way better than either of our MRE's last trip by just a bit lol. Somehow, we need to try to incorporate a meal into a camp trip.
Looks like a great recipe that made for a great day outdoors. Have cooked stew in cast iron over a wood fire once, and like you, I think it was the best ever. You had me laughing at 19:16…That fire was hungry too!🤣 Always enjoy your videos Randall, and look forward to seeing you in your next adventure.
Now that I am fairly setup for it, I want to do more campfire cooks. There just has to be a minor disaster at least once no matter what I'm doing lol. Thank you so much for watching and the comment!
Shows how long it can take to cook outside
For sure. Plus, you are at the mercy of the elements.
Wow! I wish I had seen your dolly build before I made mine.
Yours come out a bit more complicated?
@@RandallsLittleAdventures Yes, and way too heavy, as I used 2x6 lumber and greatly over-engineered it. Also, I have to pick the whole boat up to get it on the dolly. Now I'm definitely going to build a simple, lightweight dolly like yours. Figuring out how to attach it through the grab handles is pure genius. I have the same 1232 boat as yours, so I know your dolly will work. It is even the same generation, as the "ALUMACRAFT" logo changed a few times over the years and my boat has the same one as yours. I bought it new around 2014 for $545. They probably cost 3 times that much today. Thanks again! 👍
Woah woah woah. Easy on that genius stuff. I'm just an old redneck lol. We just figure out how to make stuff work with junk that is already in the barn. This dolly does move the boat around like a dream. The best of luck with your upcoming build!
Looks like you has an adventure. I dislike the mud too. Nice gear you got. Really like the cup boiler you got.
Good Morning Sir! Yes, this was quite the test. It's pretty easy to camp in great weather but definitely gets more challenging in monsoon conditions. I love my Esbit Stove. It's not as fast as a gas stove but it is super light and honestly, I'm just never in that much of a hurry lol.
Great video! I chuckled a lot. That place was a complete muddy mess! lol
Thank you so much! Oh, absolutely the place was a quagmire of slop lol.
Sprite....wink.wink😊
Haha, nothing to see here. Everything is normal.
Cool channel. Relaxing. Thank you.
Thank you very much. I am glad you are enjoying it.
Camping in the rain doesn't sound fun, but I'm glad you had a good time. The pretzel's with cheese sound tasty!
It's more like a challenge accomplished. The cheese filled pretzels where amazing lol. Thanks so much for dropping the comment. It really helps.
On another note... Did ther seem to be any hammock trees at the camp sites?
The trees we tied the tarp to would make an excellent hammock area.
Sausage gravy and biscuits! Dude run down to Brookshire Brothers and but a few packs of the food club sausage gravy mix and a bag of cheap tortillas. Make the gravy as the directions say but add about a quarter cup more water. When the gravy's made add three tortillas cut up a little strips. Let that set for a minute and you've got sausage gravy and biscuits. For about 2 bucks.
That sounds amazing! I am going to have to give the a whirl sometime.
Fort Boggy is a really great park. My wife and I did a backpacking trip there on December 6th and it was a rainy night then as well. We were in site 3. I didn’t hear you say but yall looked like you were in site 2 just from what I remember of the park. You are right about the cabins, they are nice as well as the bathrooms. I want to take my wife and boys there in March and stay in cabin 4 and do some canoeing and fishing. Great adventure brother. Keep it going.
We were scheduled for site 5, but as we would have needed waders to stay in it, we backtracked to site 4. Shockingly, no other people had reserved a site, so the Ranger let us choose whatever we liked. Thanks so much for the support brother!
Good morning and welcome to Randall’s Wet and Wild Adventures!! lol. In all seriousness, this was a great trip! Thanks for helping with this awesome adventure! Lots of lessons learned too! Take care my friend and I look forward to our next trip!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you braving the weather and joining me on this mud slide of a campout. I am looking forward to the next one!
Glad you got a company take notice of your channel 🎉
It was definitely a surprise!
New ferro rod. a minute or two with sandpaper and the cobvering is gone..
That would absolutely do the trick. My main issue was not cleaning the petroleum jelly from the cotton balls off my hands before I touched it. Took me a minute to figure that out lol.
Good morning!!! First, it’s really awesome that Odenwolf sent you those knives to review! Your channel is getting more visibility, and companies love that! Next, those knives look great, and seem to be solidly built! Great and honest review! I really enjoyed hearing about the good things Odenwolf knives are doing for wounded warriors, an even better company! Great stuff as always!!! Take care and have a great weekend!!
Thank you so much! I have enjoyed these knives, and they are durable. The way the tip held up to being hammered on was fairly impressive. As always, thank you for your support, and I hope you are having a great weekend.
Hey that looks like quick recharge rate.
It certainly is. Only problem is that it is from ground saturation due to rain rather than actual ground water coming in. Made a pretty tough job to begin with, all the more fun lol.
Good evening Sir! So, what I have learned here is that it’s a ton of work! Lol. The bailer is awesome, that thing worked great! Take care my friend!!!
It is a ton of work, but on the upside maybe we will have an unending supply of water in a SHTF situation. Thank you Sir!
Awesome video man. T%hose are some very good tips
Thank you Sir! It may be summer before I get to finish this little series. It just dumped another two inches of rain.
I can see where the color is supposed to be
yup, there was one on it when it wandered up. It was way too tight and choking the deer. It should never have been there to begin with in my opinion. The whole experience was just so random lol.
@ Really cool tho, wish I could pet a Deer
A friendly friend there! Lol
He loved the green shirt I had on. LoL
The 50' well at my Grandparents house was dug in '59 by a man and his wife, according to my Momma. Momma said they were more worried about the bucket of mud falling then a cave in.
Oh, you are referring to an actual well that a person digs down while in it. I did that one time when I was a teenager and never again. That's some scary stuff but back then you had to do what you had to do. Thanks for the comment!
@ Crazy dangerous! Any old home site will have one ( probably filled in now ).
Man, those damn beetles are thick out there! Are they like that on all of your structures? Take care buddy!
Yeah, they were all over the house and just flying around. Can barely wait to open the camper. I am sure it is full of them.
“Well” this was an awesome video! So, what you have accomplished, you’ve done “well”…… lol Seriously, damn, that’s a lot of hard work! Super cool seeing an old (but still effective) process! Looking forward to part 2!!! Get some rest, I think you will need it! Take care my friend!!
Thank you so much Sir! It is a ton of work and still plenty more to go, at least when it quits raining. Thanks for the support.
It works, but man that would wear a man out lol. I do like the idea of being able to make a well with no power required
I decided I had one more well in me before I just couldn't do it anymore. I think doing projects like this is a great preparedness tool and also to shows how much work it used to take to get anything done. Those old timers where monsters back in their day.
Thank you for checking out Part 1 of my hand dug water well videos. Has anyone tried anything like this before?
Nice video…23 this morning and 6 with the wind chill in lower SE Michigan…that’s Fahrenheit so that’s like -15 in Celsius not super cold yet here…have fun stay safe.
That's a nice day for Michigan! I am glad we don't get super cold here. Our houses just aren't built for it. Thanks for stopping in!
Gatewood cape Carry one for years still carry it in my EDC bag I've had friends they have outlasted there better campers in colder weather 🌡️🌡️ and I still use my gatewood cape
I checked that out and it looks to be a great bit of gear!
Love your sense of humor. A lot of the survivalist types on UA-cam take themselves far too seriously. New subscriber.
LoL Thank you so much. I make way too many questionable decisions to take myself too seriously!
Glad you survived. Those cold nights without being able to keep a fire going can be rough as it gets.
You and me both lol. Learning how to stay warm without the help of a fire is a trick but I slept all the way through the night.
Great video. Enjoyed it
Thank you so much!
Good evening!! Happy to hear the gear worked well!! I’m with you, maybe upgrade to that 20 degree sleeping bag. Warmer and gives you a little more range in temps. I also think that sheep pelt makes a huge difference. Great stuff and I’m glad you survived!!! lol. Take care!
Yeah, I really do need to order that 20 degree sleeping bag. It's hard to do when I would ever use it maybe once or twice a year. The sheep pelt is the bomb. I want to get a single pelt so I can put it in my chair. Thanks for the continued support. I'm glad I survived too!
Hey there, Randall! Sure did enjoy this video. Looks like your cot tent / sleep system combo is really coming along. It’s always such a good feeling when you get your gear dialed in to fit your needs and the end result is a positive experience and a great night’s sleep. Doesn’t get any better than that. I think what cinched your success was the knit hat your mom made you. It’s a fantastic pattern, a perfect and it kept you warm. You gotta know she’s smiling about that. 😊 Thanks for another fun adventure. Always look forward to seeing what you’re up to.
I am so glad you enjoyed it. I have always had camping gear, but it seems that it is truly getting custom fitted to me instead of just random stuff. Sleep has always my biggest hurdle to camping. That cap should last me the rest of my life based on the amount of cold weather we get here lol. I hope so because its awesome. Thank you for all of the support!
If we have learned anything from P-Diddy is that you can never have too much oil :D Handy little saw. Work smarter not harder as they say.
Ha! I didn't see that one coming, but I guess I have to, because there it is. Thanks for the support my friend.
@RandallsLittleAdventures you are welcome 😊
Good morning!! That little saw is badass! I have a Ryobi 40v 14” saw and it’s great. However, that size you have is definitely more packable! Thanks for the review! Take care my friend!!
Good morning, Sir! I have been using it all around the yard now and it is just handy as hell. So much easier than dragging out the chainsaw. Thanks for the continued support my friend.
You will be disappointed trying to shelter in that poncho. Have fun stay safe.
I have no doubt lol. Thanks so much for stopping by.
2 bouillon cubes
I have carried bouillon cubes in my bags previously. Wouldn't be a bad thing to add back.
lol, Im a bag whore too!
😂😂
ya know... back in th e 80's, probly 84 to 86, I bought a hand full of the ww2 camo colored plastic style ponchos from kmart for about 99 cents each. I just opened and rolled up the last one the other day to put in my get home truck bag. they are comparable to the size of the tin foil loooking blankets, but het they are better than wearing a garbage bag.
I don't have high hopes for the cheesy poncho, but if I can get a use or two out of them, that will be good enough for the purpose. I have worn a garbage bag a time or two. Not very fashionable but slightly better than nothing lol. Thanks for stopping by with the comment!
"the gun crowd", you mean the guys who talk 45, shoot 9mm and carry 38 spc.. lol
Nailed it!
Hey, Randall! Great video! I appreciate that you audit and edit down what you carry based on your real life situation and needs. And also that you’ve had the common sense to do that more than once. The result being a comfortable, wearable pack that contains what YOU need to get home in one piece. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hype of what the “pros” recommend. And I’ve done it. But being the over thinker and Safety Sally that I am, that’s just left me carrying a 31 pound pack into our woods just to enjoy a lunch of soup and crackers. Good exercise. But not exactly bright. So thanks for the reminder to skinny down to what’s practical and necessary. Also, if you’re thinking of breaking down and getting a multi tool, I’d recommend considering a Gerber Dime. I’ve carried one for over 2 years and honestly a day rarely goes by that I don’t use it. It’s small, affordable and easy to carry in your front pocket. Just an idea for ya.
First, Thank you so much! I let the "what if" thoughts get away from me sometimes. Sometimes more mobility is an important prep all in itself. I will definitely check out that multi-tool. It appears I need one more than I realized I did lol. I hope you have a wonderful day!
I couldn’t agree with you more on the importance of ease of mobility. Sometimes that doesn’t occur to me until I’m attempting to schlep and legitimize and absurdly loaded pack. 😆 Regarding my recommendation to check out the Gerber Dime…. Some multi tool purists may scoff at that model because of its size. (It’s very small) But it really is a practical tool. It’s durable, handy and affordable. I use the spring loaded pliers all the time. They’re handy for lifting pot lids off the fire. The tweezers are well angled and precise. Great for extracting splinters. And the bottle opener is super handy for opening premium beers that lack twist off caps. 😁
I am definitely not stuck on Leatherman or nothing. If it works, it works. A person could buy 6 of those Gerbers for 1 Leatherman. A non-twist off cap?? You are just gettin high falooting now lol.
Nice bag. I think having a lighter kit you don't mind to carry is a good idea.I would add an m95 mask for dust issues goggles for your eyes and a plier based multi tool. Other then that you got a nice set up
I may replace the mask idea with a bandana which is so versatile including dust protection. My friend, you are in a long line of people suggesting I get a multi tool. I guess I am going to have to break down and get a decent pair. As always, thanks for the support my friend.
@RandallsLittleAdventures you are very welcome. To be fair I am a pro multi tool person. But it can even help you with fishing. Makeing tackle to removing hooks. Why I suggest m95 is how small it can filter. I was thinking from what we learned during 9-11. But ultimately it is your kit and I think you did a good job over all.
You just sold the multi tool as a fishing aid. That seals the deal lol. Thank you again!
@@RandallsLittleAdventures Lol glad I could help. If you want a leather man thats good but not over pricy I suggest the rebar.
Good evening Sir! All of what you need, nothing you don’t! These bags should be designed to supplement what you already have: your EDC, clothing for the elements, etc. Your bag checks all the marks. I would consider adding some aqua tabs (for quick water). Great stuff as always! Thanks for sharing and take care!!!
From a prepper point of view, it's hard not to bring everything along with the kitchen sink. From just this one dude's perspective, I just need a few items to keep me going. It's a constant battle with myself to keep from adding items to any bag. Thanks for the support, Brother!
Great for getting home from town.
Thanks exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
What a waste of 27 minutes!
Sorry I interrupted your productive day. Thanks for the comment!
Really cool! I have a cot with a mini tent as well and it’s so cool
I think it is so versatile, that it is going to be hard to beat. Thanks for stopping by with the comment!
@ You are very welcome! I agree!!
Good evening my friend! Well, another epic little adventure! Super cool trip with the Ram Monster, the new cot/tent setup, and the Grayl! Thanks for taking us along, and I’m about ready for another adventure myself! Take care!!
Thank you so much! All the gear worked as it should, and I was happy about that. We definity need another trip!
