Shit are they open again? Aint rode there since about 2016! Where you live man?
@apshirley92 open for like a week. And only about 7 miles of it. I can see some areas that can become a problem with ruts and stuff. Hopefully though people mind this time so it stays opened. Also I'm in barrow county
@ damn I’d have that rode in no time. Still, I’m only about 20 mins from that trail. I live in Habersham County. I remember riding at Locust Stake in 2009 back when the “bottoms” were open. THAT was dangerous lol.
@apshirley92 I think the wash from that type of stuff helped it get closed down. I know they have some posts up that are new in an area over by trail 5.
@apshirley92 I did watch some older videos. I do see why they shut it down. All that mud we make does wash into others properties. There was 2 sections in trail 5 I can see wearing quickly and getting rutted. There were 2 longer hills that had no breaks in the hills for water so it will run all the way down. They added some stuff at the trails near durhamtown to keep the soil in place in a few areas. The rest of the trails have the breaks in the hills so the water cant chew em up and they should last. This is the closest trail system to me so keeping it open will be something I want to happen.
First!!!😁
First video of this trail being redone too it seems
Went here this past August and it was pretty fun. I only live an hour from it and I had no idea this place had been there for years. Before I was driving all the way to Durhamtown which is not a fun drive. Anyways me and my buds of course went on the one day a year they do some kind of Mexican festival thing there and there were a shit ton of people. 2 people died from crashing, people were drinking and high while driving their machines and it was pretty dangerous. But that’s literally the only day they do that event. The trail directions are non existent as well haha.
@apshirley92 i haven't been in a while and avoid the crowds. I heard the did doughnuts and found someone out. I use a little herbs and go but I dont drive reckless or fast. I've offered to help em with the trail signage. Come up on a weekday and they have signs and a staple gun lol. I even mentioned using reflective ones at trail heads to catch the eye. And it is nice having an arrow every now and then. I went right after Halloween and we got lost as hell near the highway that takes you down to dawsonville. There's some really old trails over there the6 blocked off. There's even a few wooden bridges back there to cross that are blocked now
It’s been years since I’ve been on these trails. Me and my bud plan on going down there tomorrow. Is the entrance to the parking lot smooth enough to take a 2wd stock Tahoe through? I can’t remember how smooth the entrance was. Thanks! Also, I have a ‘23 KQ750. Best quad I’ve ever owned.
@@apshirley92 i take a 2wd Tacoma up there lol. Should be fine
My one pup LilBit does the same thing!! If you scratch the base of her tail and butt, she will nibble you nonstop!!
@thomasparsley8195 ive had dogs all my life and never seen this. Lol. She nibbles on my other dog wuen playing. And when I went atv riding last week I was gone for a while. She was so happy to see me she nibbled me then too. Lol
@thecasualatvguy617 I've seen it with several dogs! It's something about that area that sends them into what my wife just call "the nibbles" or "she's nibbling me!" She likes to nibble my forearms and grabs the hairs on my arm. My big dog Zephyr will do it on occasion. I think it's a grooming behavior of some sorts. It's absolutely adorable, but it can freak you out if you don't expect it, lol! I'll have to see if I can get Little Bit to do it on video and share it! Thanks for sharing her videos!
Buddy looks like my dog Bubba who passed three years ago. He was the best dog I've ever had!
@thomasparsley8195 sorry to hear that. Our neighbors gave him to us. The husband didn't get along because he ignored him yapping needing to potty and he peed in the house. Lol. I had a dog die of cancer last year at 10, his buddy dies in may of this year. So we got pepper the black dog a month after getting buddy. They are the same age and love to play. Lol
@@thomasparsley8195 he is 100% a designer dog lol
put your blinker on
@@flyersfanbob I did. I used ot when I found the off ramp to the mountain.
I blame them for the recent ufo sightings we've been gettin lol
@@romarisrogers8005 I saw one riding with a big foot in a ufo last week.
I think she is a patterdale terrier crossed with something larger like. I think my last dog max was a patterdale. He was 14 pounds with the same look and hair was a little softer. They walk the same and have the same mannerism
Imagine them at three feet long. we wouldn't stand a chance.
Her body is over 5 inches for sure.
My cat does the same thing...too funny~😂❤
I know it feels good for her I can see it in her face. She does this to the other dog when playing sometimes. It's gotta be something she did as a puppy.

@@phirakkeomeas3054 there's a pier and fisherman. Probably draws them in
The baby birds fledged the next day i believe. I saw no evidence he ate them. He couldnt climb the pole
I wouldn’t be caught dead in something like that it’s embarrassing. I would feel humiliated to be seen in something so over the top it really makes me wonder the mindset of other people sometimes
If I had money why not. My boss when I lived down there had that kind of money. He has a BOATT though vs a boat. It's bust out another ten thousand.
What part was that on??
Was an older trail that used to be muddy as hell. Down from the atlanta overlook and 2 lefts I think.
Ok I found the area. About 4 mins in there's a busted kawasaki on the trail. We were in this area. You may be able to find it from part 1 video. I will see if I can find a daytime example. I just know leaving the aylanyw overlook you went left right down the hill. ua-cam.com/video/xUINoc2SSn0/v-deo.htmlsi=2PsW4hpSa3CNx_xI
that is funny keep making pepper and buddy videos this is Liam love you and the trip is already fun.
Is the other pup named Salt? 🧂😊
No he us named buddy. Our neighbors gave him to us. He didn't get along with the husband. Lol. I did have a white shit szu that died in April. I made jokes about that. Buddy is a $2500 designer dog we got for FREEeeeee!!! Lol. They called him a teddy bear. He's hypoallergenic even and doesn't shed.
Update us if you upgrade tires! You have any idea what you would go with?
I put on some kenda bear claw htr tires. I've put 1400 miles on them and they haven't worn much at all. I run like 6 psi and I grip on everything and they absorb even more bumps.
I'm planning on getting one. A 500 or a 750. It's weird because I've heard on a couple of other videos that it's suspension is a bit stiff, even on the softest preload setting.
My dirt bike riding buddy said it's like riding on a pillow lol. I couldn't tell ya is this is the only one I've had adjustable. It's comfy for me and handles good. I've gotten more comfortable with how it corners and reacts.
There is something there it's a spirit. That has come to visit. They see spirits
No. I've had then weird me out before like that. The screen fell is all. She barks at my racing wheel or anything new out of place. The screen is usually pulled back and it fell open. Anything nee she checks out.
No offense, but the music is annoying, but that's my opinion, though. If you could turn it down, the video would be way better, my opinion. And you don't need the music on the whole time. I appreciate the video.
I don't use it anymore. I just talk shit lol
lol
275 hp turbo killer, lol
sounds like 275 hp, 4 cylinder behind you
I heard it the whole time behind me lol.
Damn i can hear that car motor rzr behind me in every little jump. Lol. Maybe next time i will take a couple of laps in it. I am trying ti get my seat time back to where it was a year ago or so.
Love the KINGQUAD! 😎😎. Just curious, do they have truck trails?
I think they have a jeep and side by side area to the left of the main trails. Across from the woods course entrance. Iron mountain in dahlonega is truck and jeep friendly. I think I have footage of a side by side turning around in a rutted area there. Esp in the winter it gets more rain in the mountains.
@@thecasualatvguy617 thank you!
@ethannorton1560 I know in my iron mountain vids I go by trucks and jeeps in areas they left bad for the mud. They didn't really make any ways around it so I stopped going as much. That's one thing I would do differently there and at durhamtown. Have a rutted muddy hard way, and cit an easy way around it using higher elevation so it doesn't turn into a muddy rut. Lol. They have some nice hills and trails I just got tired of certain areas to make it through. My poor rims and fenders don't like laying on a mid wall because of a rut. Lol. The state trails I go to are also fun. Beasley knob is one I woukd say take a jeep/truck or SxS.
@@thecasualatvguy617 Yep! And also, Iron mountain has that clay mud that you can barely get off your vehicle😭. I’m just waiting it I get 33s to do Beasley Knob. I’m wanting to try : Flatlands rd GA. It seem to be a good trail. Anyways, thank you for the info!
@ethannorton1560 durhamtown has the same type mud. I try avoiding it at both places as it takes forever to clean. I did Beasley on my atv, except the rock crawler trail. Lol
Love the KINGQUAD
It's a comfy riding machine which is what I need. Has plenty of power. And goes 67mph. Plenty fast for me. How fast can you really go through the woods?? Lol
@@thecasualatvguy617 ya, you can only gon so fast in the woods lol! Super glad you like it. Me and my family have 3 Suzuki, we love all of them. (We have: 250 Ozark (2006), 250 quadsport (2007), and 2019 king quad 400 axi.)
How wide are the gates there
I think 52 inches. I'm 48 stock and my tires now stuck out a little on each side. I dont have much clearance. No SxS allowed there. I wanna gi bsck this summer sometime
The whole area near the bridge in the thumbnail used to be totally muddy and rutted. It isn't that way anymore. It's been smoothed out and dried up
I wish they would had kept it a little more challenging for me anyways, thanks for the info!
@ethannorton1560 I like to just cruise there. I'm sure some of those areas will get rutted again. Do you go to iron mountain? The side by side and jeep traffic there makes it much more interesting.
Why would you take up the front rack with a big light bar? Can never haul anything up there now.
I ride for fun. Not to haul shit lol
never seen a 750 leak coolant before.
I didn't find any leaks so far. My Honda used to do that after the jug got a few years old. I could never find a leak in that. Since I had the servicing included when buying it they had it last so I'm betting one of them messed up. A coolant leak on that hot engine you can smell asap.
@@thecasualatvguy617 yeah I always have radiator related issues on my KingQuad 700
@@FullsendOffroad like what? What should I look for. I'm thinking someone screwed up at the dealer as the coolant looked new. I had no smell or no trace of anything. The overflow reservoir looks sturdier than the honds ones. Lol
@@thecasualatvguy617 I don't know. It just overheats and smells like water going on the rad when I go through puddles.
@FullsendOffroad since I didn't run mine much over the winter I noticed a different smell that didn't last long. Like dust and spider webs burning off lol. I did get the dried mud smell at durhamtown. You get kid there all year, well except really dry patches in the summer. I've seen that whole area down by the swimming hole dry as a bone only one summer.
Glad to finally see you uploading again!!
My back got messed up in the fall. I was walking crooked for like 2 months. Lol. Then it got cold.
@@thecasualatvguy617 dang, that must have sucked. At least you're back on your feet.
@FullsendOffroad I'm already limited with my neck and back from other people hitting me in cars. Lol. That's why I usually go and chill and usually why I get quiet towards the end of a ride. I start hurting from it. It's therapeutic too go for me. Lol
@@thecasualatvguy617 be lucky you don't ride in Central Eastern PA. There the rocks are huge and the trails are really rough. It's so rough in fact that almost any quad I ride I'll get fatigued in my back and hands. Only my Yamaha Grizzly is so far an exception, its suspension is really built well. I never even complained about my KingQuad's suspension, which still does really well, but it can't soften out the bumps like my Grizzly can.
@FullsendOffroad mine has the adjustable suspension on it. My buddy with the dirt bike says it's like riding a giant pillow lol. Wind rock is not far from and Beasley knob has a rocky ass trail. I stay off if those. Some of the mountain ones have sections with some rocks. Even flint creek in Alabama had some rocky spots. With my suspension and tire psi being lower I don't feel it as kuch as the stick tires. Plus they are 8 ply.
Good shape for that mileage must not be in woods much
Where else do you ride em?
@@thecasualatvguy617 alot of ppl in WV ride on road everywhere
@immachine1565 not here in ga. I try not to sink it in mud but everywhere I ride I record and post on my channelv
Are you still happy with your ride..
Yes I am still very happy with it. I don't go as much due to gas prices and my schedule etc, but I went to tatum lead last time. It's still holding up strong. I changed the battery and that's it. I didn't use a tender the first 2 years either like a dork.
Oh wow he really did leave
Almost brought a tear to my eye
Sound ugly
I was trying not to get his tag up close as he was leaving. Just an FYI on the camera angle
City of Winder isn’t what it was years ago. That whole area is changing fast. My wife and I have a couple of 500 King Quads and couldn’t be happier. Currently we’ve had to settle riding the woods around our neighborhood but looking forward to hitting some of the trails around our corner of the state soon and maybe down the road do a Atv trip out west if the budget permits. I’ve ridden many dual sport miles out west back in the day and know for sure there’s prime atv riding out that way. But for now the southeast will be a good start. Thanks for sharing your rides as it helps with deciding where to ride next
The city made a place near me into a park that I used to ride at. It was nice to be able to just go over there sometimes.
Good looking atv.
Thanks. I wish they had the blsck rims the year i got it. I think it would look better
Nice
I have never had a dog get into the tv so much. Some notice things on it. She was really trying to figure out an interview with Shaq kn it yesterday.
How many miles on it now ? How is it holding up ?
2600 miles. No problems so far. The last year I haven't been able to go as much as before. Still runs great. The area I put angle iron the install the rock lights vibrates a tiny bit. I gotta tighten that down is all. I went to tatum lead last time.
Probably been days since he ate somebody’s cat.
Maybe. He tends to stay closer to the woods and the lot with heavy weeds. I think he knows my dogs are back there
i kinda look like that too when i dont shower for a single ass day
where at in sc? im from james island
This is tatum lead near Chatsworth ga. So west Georgia. Enoree is south of Greeneville on I26 I think. Closer to the ga state line is parson mountain and another trail. I have video of all 3 on my channel. I live near Athens in ga
Good stuff. You ever get back over to Iron Mountain?
No. I enjoy the non side by side rutted trails. Lol. Plus the fed trails are cheap or free to ride on like tatum lead
lol, I hear ya. I've been wanting to get over to whissenhunt. I believe it's the next closest trail system to me (50mins) after iron mountain (40 mins) @@thecasualatvguy617
Been looking for a place like this. Nothing in nc like it!
Wayahuetta my buddy says is good. We are supposed to go there sometime soon
