When game came out it was revolution in 1st person shooters

HEV suit perhaps too verbose. Standard messages are very minimalist, maybe something like "Warning! Low temperature detected! Auxiliary functions disabled. Suit heater online. Seek shelter immediately." would be better. Add beeps to taste.

I knew of 29 of them. I like how Half-Life had so many side passages. One thing I never did was hop into murky water to look for dead guys and ammo.

Wtf, I'm still missing all the secrets, I mean, after 13 years of playing Half Life 2 and episodes, I'm surprised that in every "corner" there are supplies when I only took and completed the ones marked with the Lambda symbol, only knew some secrets by accident. Good content SM!

You better show how you access medikit in the beginning on a big lift (unforeseen consequences) How you access Medikit & HEV charger using barnacle in "Blast Pit" and how to reach far wall with 2 batteries next to big lift in Blast Pit 😂 That's Challenging

>opening up your locker is a secret id be much more surprised if nearly everyone didnt do that. but now that I think of it, a newer playerbase might not do that. when this game was played new, we were much more impressed with searching every single detail of the game because it seemed so ahead of its time.

Started playing Half-Life again the other day and was startled when I interrupted a scripted sequence where a Bullsquid is dragging a marine through a crack in a wall. Shot the marine by mistake and he was immediately broken from the scripted sequence and started shooting at me

the most useless video about hl2 that you can watch, the guy spends half an hour climbing around showing where the ammo is on the levels, they have nothing to do with the title of the video "secrets".

Surface Tension at the dam chopper part. The ledges along the canyon river that lead to the closed gate after you do the valve in the dam. No clip it while the canyon is still empty

Also there's a secret in Ravenholm - when you're in the room with the green turbines (inside the building that you first meet Father Grigori), on top of one turbine is a vent, if you go through you'll find an SMG grenade. It comes out in that courtyard where everything is burned.

I was just 8 shy of the 43 shown here. Office complex 3, Blast pit, On a rail 3, 4, Apprehension 1, 2 , and 3, plus Forget about Freeman 1. It's a bit strange to know there's 8 places in the game where I've never looked, dispite having played it all the way through at least 20 times over the last 25 years, and for 3 or 4 of those run throughs I've played it precisely TO explore every inch of the maps to see if there was anything I'd ever missed ! I guess using a barnacle as a lift never occurred to me. 🤔

Well, I've played through Half Life and all the HL2 games......... An excessive number of times (plus literally just finished them all yet again in the VR mods), and thought I knew most of the hidden stuff, but the ones I definatly didn't know about were Route kanal 4, Water hazard 5, 7, 8 10, and 11 (I mean, from 7 to 11, who's going to stop to snoop about with a helicopter gunship peppering you with rounds. 😃), Water hazard 16, Ravenholm 1, 2, 5 (Always loathed the Ravenholm chapter, so I've pretty much always speed ran through it after my first play through), Sand traps 2, Anticitizen 3, and the one near the start of Our benefactor. So out of the 57 here it seems I'd missed at least 13........ Not sure if that's good or bad? 🤔

Something EVERYBODY misses here: When you take a close look at exactly that wall at 6:11 you will see the Name "Riller". You have to move very closely to the wall, then you can see some very thin brushwork.
