Echocardiography is an essential tool for the modern-day cardiology & routinely used in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients with suspected or known heart diseases. We believe critical care ultrasonography resources should be available and readily accessible to providers worldwide. The primary goal of this video is to provide a forum to promote learning, knowledge sharing, and propel providers to utilize ultrasonography at the bedside to improve patient care. This video walkthrough of a focused transthoracic scan has been made primarily for the benefit of trainees within the department who are studying towards the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) accreditation and Focus Ultrasound in Intensive Care (FUSIC) accreditation. I have tried to follow the structure laid out within the minimum data set level with a few minor alterations which reflect the departmental teaching and practice. Wherever there are differences these are stated explicitly within the video.
