    I think you guys missed the point as to why he brought this to the people. There's a history of NSA whistle blowers mentioned in the movie that were silenced and punished that used the channels within the NSA for complaints. The secrecy of the FSA courts kept these privacy violations from entering the public domain for discourse. I feel you guys missed major points like this that were discussed in the movie. oh man, I keep getting a laugh at you guys using the wrong words and making up words to express your thoughts...thiughts of which I don't agree qith. scewed reality in your minds.

      +NickSavage thanks for taking the time to watch anyways. From our experience with top secret information we found the system to be quite different from how Hollywood showed it. Entertainment is important in the media, just shedding some light on a different perspective from our side, for those who are interested.

      Ed Snowden didn't bring this to the people. It was already a point of interest. His release of classified material didn't reveal anything. The media portrayed it that way. In the film and in fact he trapped the media into writing this. Then once he saw a wave he came out riding. If the media had some more time to investigate the facts they would have seen the story already written over a year prior.

      yes we were aware of a lot of this even predating the wired article in slashdot news days talking about the ATT data rooms the NSA wired tapped with fiber optics. What he gave us was a lot of details into the program and made in consumable by the masses to start a public debate. We knew about this for awhile but anyone discussing it was labeled a conspiracy theory. Not anymore. It's garnered enough interest to create growth in privacy apps like those by Whisper Systems and thereby made it much more difficult for average hackers to launch man in the middle type attacks. He's made the world safer. criminals already knew this stuff was going on and how to avoid digital detection, now it's the common man's turn.

      Again, Ed didn't reveal anything but classified documents.

    • @bensavage6389
      @bensavage6389 8 років тому

      Your argument is that he didnt reveal anything new just classified materials and I argue that it was new to me and especially digestable by the common man after the work the Gaudian did. As for the classification designation, we operate in a democractic republic (or atleast we are told we do). We are not ruled by secret courts that overuse the classified designation to avoid scrutiny. Nothing revealed is compromising any missions and I'd argue Americans are entitled to at the very least aware what their government is up to. The question is, should these documents be withheld from the democracy in a secret court order? The NSA says they have the authority from the secret courts to fight terrorism, but when its using these secret court appointed powers to act as signals not related to terrorism and starts providing intel to DEA and even IRS, they have over stepped their mandate. I'd be happy to see this debated in the supreme court. ...Here's a thought experiment..should the Ss Nazis that ran the concentrations been sentenced to death when all they were doing was following orders? If something is wrong and violates the constitution it is your sworn duty to protect your country as a serviceman. It can be argued that this is what Snowden did, or "Ed" as you disparingly refer to him

      Right on bro. Hey take a look at the article in Wired magazine we mention. It talks about the whistleblowers and everything that Ed Snowden "reveals" in his story. When you do note the date of the publication.

      i guess living in a society where if you piss of the weong person they can abuse their powers and have you hacked or misuse their access to this data because there is laughable oversight is not a society I'd like to see us enter.

    We need to spread that mentality and really have all Americans feel that sense of urgency to help one another and not bring each other down. As funny as it sounds that whole " bring your neighbor a cookie" is what our country needs to bring us together! Great video gents.
