She's a beauty 😍
Its called fury for a reason 💀
I wish I had a 59 Desoto. Alas, I am a broke college student LOL
@@ewbait you’ll get there!
@@TheFinFarm Thanks!
Here's to Virgil M. Exner Sr. (1909-1973), and my friend Gordon Davis, still with us today, who is on Facebook. Gordon did detail work on the design of the 1959 DeSoto in 1957, working for the Exner design group. I am amazed that you folks have managed to save this many '59 DeSotos, all in one place! Parts are the big problem, but there are a lot of support groups for these cars now, and if you can't find the part, either used or NOS, you have to fabricate it yourself or have an expert machinist craftsman do it. Where are you located?
@@TheDejael we are good friends with Gordon, know Virgil Jr, and a couple of the other designers still left. We have been doing Desoto’s for years and collect what we can to keep our hobby going. We’re located in upstate NY.
@@TheFinFarm All my best from Texas! Thanks for your reply! How many are running and driveable?
@@TheDejael 4 run and drive, a couple are projects, the rest are parts cars to keep the others alive. 😅
Fun trip! Thanks for sharing!
We had a great time! Thanks for watching!
Love those fuselage C-bodies. I have yet to add one to my fleet, but I have it on my list.
Looks like we just added another to the fleet! More to come!
W song choice👌🏼
Just curious, where are you guys located? I knew of a guy in Maryland, north of Baltimore (Bel Air, I think?) who had a fetish for the '59, and had a bunch of them in various states of condition. I remember one of them was a Seville. He also had a '58 Firesweep that he wanted to sell. I would have bought it, but someone else beat me to it. This was back in 1995.
@@andreg4460 we are in upstate NY. Not too far from where you’re talking about.
Love videos and the commentary! Thank you so much for bringing me along, I've been able to watch this Charger turn from junk back into a real car again. All thanks to you! How exciting!!😀🥰
Cool video, thanks!
@@dstragand thanks for watching! ☺️
Very nice indeed. That's a great sweet ride 😊❤❤😊 long live. The 1958. Plymouth fury and. Christine 😊😅😂😊
🍀Very cool 👀✌️
Nice video, ive just recently acquired a dismantled '69 Charger that im intending to make a General tribute. God speed to your projects.
@@steveanderson6353 that’s great! Thanks so much for watching! I’ll have more Charger content coming. We just went to the Cooter’s 25th anniversary in Luray, VA. They had 50-some general lee’s there including 3 original series cars and a 2005 movie car.
Cool video Jess! Keep 'em coming..
@@gordcu4655 thanks, Gord!
If it doesn't have the Rebel flag it's not a General Lee. Period.
@@dpz9872 I disagree, but I guess that’s the privilege of having built one from the ground up.
@@TheFinFarm Congratulations on your build. I'm not the type of guy to get punked out of flying a Rebel flag by a bunch of idiots living off my taxes while smoking out sucking on 40's and listening to gangster rap. To each their own though. 👌
@@dpz9872 I can respect that opinion. 12 years of building a car changes that perspective when you realize it only takes one unhinged person a few seconds to undo a lot of that hard work.
@@TheFinFarm Yup. Like I said, I don't bend. Fly my American and USMC flags daily all thru Commie-Fornia and don't give a damn. Nice car either way. 🍺

both beautiful cars

I just wet myself that is the most beautifulest car
So beautiful 😍
Love the canned hams.
I can feel the grin on your faces.
My Desoto lineup is meager in comparison, but my 56 and 57 Firedomes still make me feel complete.
There is not much in this world better looking than an Exner era piece of art!
@@steveanderson6353 I agree!
Beautiful car.
Would this happened to have been in New York? Nvm I just now saw the description 😂 I got to have a photo of me sitting her!

That old dodge proubly never been as fast as y'all was pulling it home that's why it was falling apart.
You are probably right that it likely hasn’t driven on the thruway. 😅
DeSoto heaven!
Thanks so much for watching! ☺️
Great Video Jess!
Thanks gord!
Definitely following this project!
Awesome! I’m glad you found us!
1959 Desoto fins mounted onto a radio flyer wagon built to haul our kids around car shows and swap meets! Celebrating its 10th season this year! 😊
my buddy Mike Pettinger here in Nevada is interested in that green Desoto. He has a 59 Imperial 4DHT Crown I think it is. Plus other Forward Look cars. I do as well but Im into my Plymouths and 57 Chrysler Saratoga. He's just excited about this car. John Fowlie will have to come get it from you guys but Mike has been pestering me about finding your channel and I now have lol Very cool stuff!
I’m glad you found us! Jeff has been corresponding with Mike on the phone about the Desoto. Hoping John will be able to make the trip out here to get it in a few months!
Ohhh such a candy
Sold for $150,000 I think it was.
😮
275000
That's cool Jess! One step closer....
Thanks, Gord!
I could see if it was a rust bucket but there is a lot missing so I kinda understand but at the same time drop a hellcat engine in damn I'm dreaming
Rusty cars aren’t good derby cars, unfortunately. But I agree and wish it was able to be saved. The car was owned by someone else who gave us the opportunity to strip a lot of good, useable parts before crashing it around. Thank you for watching! If you stick around, we have more cars that are going to be saved. ☺️
@@TheFinFarm as much as I say I'd like to see it saved I fully understand not so much the derby part but the restoration end with parts missing and costs it might not be feasible for that model so you do what feeds you best and good luck with the farm
So sad. I may have bought it.
SAVE IT! These cars are amazing!
We saved what we could! Thanks for watching!! ☺️
@@TheFinFarm I know we can’t save em all…. It’s just sad….
You should save it. You could make a Christine out of it.
Pass the red paint!
Do any of them have the Bendix electrojector electronic fuel injection?
No. That was an extremely rare option for 1958.
Just stumbled on this video and subscribed! I have a 1959 desoto firesweep that I'm looking to restore here a link of it ua-cam.com/video/M8QjuoMiF9E/v-deo.htmlsi=T08Ja0X2wUpzi86o
What percentage of Chrysler's total production of De Sotos would you say this represents? De Soto was more or less on the way out in '59.
Per google, 45,734 total Desoto’s were produced in 1959. That would make our representation very much less than 1 percent! 😅
