Have carburetor issue or fuel issue in my 300 it's a 1977 Ford f150 custom of changed everything from the carburetor to the mechanical fuel pump to the fuel filter solenoid battery oil oil filter air filter ignition coil spark plug spark plug wires and for some reason I can only get the truck to run on starter fluid

@@travisdavis7110 nice truck, have you tried unhooking the fuel line going from the carburetor to the fuel pump and turn the key to see if the pump is pumping fuel. Just because it’s new demand it can’t be bad, or perhaps you could have a clogged fuel line. If none of this is the issue, then I’d check the air/fuel ratio screws, turn them in all the way then back out 1-1/2 turns and that is your starting point and you can tune from there. There is a fuel delivery issue somewhere, so I’d start with those things and see what you come up with. Hope this helps, good luck. Thanks for watching.

I know I am hopelessly old school, but it's my fundamental understanding that electric choke 12v power should never come directly from the alternator, battery or distributor. Switched 12v power is all over. Just find one of those. I know everybody does it, but the ground is not good at the carburetor either. It's an aluminum carburetor and maybe even an aluminum intake manifold. That would be weak ground at best. There is probably a great frame ground on the firewall, or find something steel on the engine block. Most never know how well an electric choke really works because they wire them wrongly . . . well like you suggest.

@@jakeborgatti9807 that’s awesome that my video helped you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Nice car too by the way, love these cars. Even though I’m more fond of manuals myself, you could probably fix that C4 really easy. C4’s have a second gear band, they have been known to break before so you lose second. This happened to me in my 76 ford truck, so I pulled the oil pan and valve body down and turns out that sometime in the past it broke before and ford had installed what they call a snap band in it and it had broken again. So I ordered a new snap band for it and it worked perfect, drove it until the old transmission finally just gave up from old age. You don’t have to remove the transmission to install it either, it can be done in the car and it’s real easy to install. Just something to think about. This is a late note, but the loss of brakes with pedal travel to floor has been known by Ford and no recall was done. The problems seems to be in the ABS module; it has happened to my 2013 Edge three times; the pedal travels to the floor and requires firm pressing on the pedal to get braking action.. then, the brakes continue to work normally... until the next time you lose braking action, and if you are dealing with a sudden stop when it happens, it could make you waste seconds and increase braking distance so much that you could crash. Ford extended the Costumer Satisfaction deal until November 2025 regardless of millage. But they will only change the brake booster and people are saying that their brakes continued failing in the same way because it appears that the ABS module is the main culprit, but Ford is not replacing it. I read that this problem is also affecting the Journey and even some Chevy models. Call your dealer.

@@GeezerGold thank you for your input and response, fortunately this has only happened once with me, been working perfect ever since. The only braking problem after that I had was the brakes were sticking and wanting to lock up, I took it to the dealer three times and the idiots couldn’t figure it out, one time I even drove it up there with the brakes smoking and told them it’s probably the brake booster, they didn’t want to deal with it so I took it to another small business shop and he changed the brake booster and never had another issue. Sorry your abs module kept messing up though but I appreciate you reaching out and letting me know about the extended warranty, and glad you got yours fixed as well. Thanks for watching.

@@user-xn9it8df3s I just thought about something, I had completely forgotten about. If it’s the original transmission or original style for your 65 then it has what they call the cruise o matic. Your shifter should have P,R,N,drive, then a green dot, L. Those transmissions are the exact same as the traditional C4 except the valve body. Those cruise o matics start off in second gear and shift to third when in drive and shift from 1st,2nd,3rd in green dot. They stopped that in 1967, in 67 they made it how we know them today with P,R,N,D,2,1. I think this may be your problem, if your shifter doesn’t have the green dot then someone probably changed the shifter some time in the past without changing the valve body. So if this is the case then just put your shifter in 2 and it’ll shift all three gears. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Have a question about the 68 torino I had in 1974 ,when I was doing the heads on my 289 it was a 302 block and I was sure it had never been worked on before. Heads stamped 289 and the block was 302 stamped, has anyone heard of this just wondering 🤔 💭

@@stevehusk6215 great question and cool car by the way. Well the 302 was introduced in 68 so sometimes when the factory was assembling the engines they would just grab whatever was available and since they still had some 289 stamped parts such as blocks and heads they would get put together.
