In my view, I like the left one for having the details in the highlights, while the right one is killing it, although its brighter, its killing the actual brights, like the sun and the sky around it is all blown out. If I wanted to use the footage for something, Id try to get it as close to the left as possible through whatever process that is required for the result. If I had to brighten something up, Id probably increase the lower mids and keep highs same or lower them to compensate. In a digital footage, you can bring the highlights down to see the actual bright areas, especially whites, that are hidden in the brightness otherwise. But in film, it gives you perfect highlights. so you can only turn up the lower mids if its too dark. But thats my personal take without actually being a filmmaker, though, it depends what YOU want in the final look. I dont know the actual process of making a print for the form for use, but whatever is brightening up the sky too much, could be controlled, if you want those details

i dont understand the technical difference. like the left one is a lesser color graded version and the right one a better color graded ? once you scan a negative film you have to color grade it. do you mean the first one is a negative scan with a post-color and the second one is a color reversed ad scanned ?
