They've always been amazing, fantastic! I've been a fan since their "club" days in/around the Boston and New England area, when they used to be "The Dream". And Gary, the lead singer, is not a "new lead singer". Just older, as well all are, and still has that truly awesome voice! Nuno is still rock guitar God! Honestly, all the guys are at the top of their game!

I finally got to see them live this February in New Hampshire. Absolutely incredible show. The entire crowd was on its feet for the entire show! Can't wait to see what comes next from the guys.

This man hit the genetic mother load! He is an EXTREMELY TALENTED and EXPERT musician and songwriter like his dad and to a point his uncle. His production and mixing abilities are great. AND he can act just as GOOD as his mom!! And just a handsome, but different to his dad! He quite literally got every talent gene both families carry! Then you had his intelligence, humor and humble nature too it. HOLY SHIP BATMAN!!!!

“1, 2, 3, 4, Parking Lot!” The most fun an audience can have is being served by the Maids! 🤘🏽 Kanami’s riff in this song reminds me a lot of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades.” Band-Maid blends genres like a Ninja Blender I’m a bassist also, and MISA’s tone is just killer. I’d like to recommend “DICE,” official music video for your enjoyment. One of her absolute finest bass tones of any song, along with a tasty solo feature handing it off to Kanami to finish off.

In person this song is even better. TBH this show’s mixing/recording doesn’t capture the magic to me. During the US tour, Saiki never sang the woah oh ooh because the crowd was loud enough. That doesn’t come through in the mix. Nor does the crowd lululu x2 or any other crowd bits. I actually prefer fancams to this video. Song is such a banger. I just wish this video did the song justice. Still great, but trust me when I say it’s way better in person.

Miku, the rhythm guitarist and main lyricist, didn’t know how to play guitar when she formed the band (yes, the band is her idea, her concept, her creation. She’s their leader, and effectively their manager). She was the original lead singer, but after recruiting the other members decided her voice wasn’t right for the sound she wanted, so she demoted herself and found a different singer (Saiki) with the help of their record label. Kanami aka Mincho is the lead guitarist, and principal songwriter. She’s the true musical force behind the band. She started with classical piano as a 3 year old, took up violin later, and began playing guitar in high school. She writes the majority of the melodies, and then brings her compositions to Misa and Akane (bass and drums, respectively), who then write their own parts based on Kanami’s ideas, and of course adjustments are made as needed as part of collaboration. While Kanami never went to music school and is mostly self taught, Misa and Akane are music school graduates who also play a wide variety of instruments. Saiki was the last to join. Unofficially, she has final say on all songs, working with Miku to write lyrics, and Kanami to find the right key she can sing. It has happened in the past where Kanami wrote a song that was on the edges of Saiki’s vocal range (Alone, for example), so now Saiki has a sort of veto power

"Other Side of the Rainbow" is a great song , probably my Guitar Solo Of The Year, and I also love Mammoth , the song Mammoth is a great song .

Saiki, the lesd vocalist who doesn't appear in this video, actually came up with the concept for this number. BTW she had to have surgery on her throat at one point. She had to take care not to overwork her voice, so it's useful for the band to have a few instrumentals so that she can rest a little during their live performances. ❤️👸

Kanami, the guitarist usually comes up with the song base, which Misa (bass) and Akane (drums) tweak. Miku (rhythm guitar) writes the lyrics. Saki, the singer, has lately been taking on writing lyrics too.

The rhythm guitarist is relatively new to the guitar -- she is a singer by background ... and the founder of the band, and the lyricist, and the ambassador, and the intermission comedy show, and ... So she need not apologise for being the least experienced of the musicians here. She is the unstoppable force behind Band-Maid. She is doing fabulously just being able to hold up her head in the company of the lead guitarist (her teacher), the bassist, and the drummer. She didn't even want to play guitar, but she learnt anyway, and now she is a competent rhythm guitarist. Re composition: the lead guitarist composes, then the bassist and drummer work up their parts from the tapes the lead guitarist sends out. The rhythm guitarist and the vocalist write the lyrics.

Its so crazy.. My 2 favorite female drummers (Haruna from Lovebites and Akuna from Bandmaid) are from japan. And also my 2 favorite female bass players (Fami from Lovebites and Misa from Bandmaid ...) It must be something very awsome with the rythm section teaching and the women in Japan !!!

You’re right. Miku (rhythm guitar) only began playing after the band had formed and started in their new direction after the success of “Thrill.” Prior to that, she was the band’s founder, vocalist, and promoter in chief. Miku’s unwavering commitment to her dream combined with humility moved her to find a stronger vocalist for leads as the band wanted heavier musical compositions. Miku supports with beautiful harmonies. Because they were going heavy, Miku decided to play rhythm guitar. And she practically went from zero to hero under Kanami’s tutelage. I believe your musical ears are sophisticated enough to appreciate “Blooming.” No spoilers. I anxiously await your analysis of that one.

The lead guitar player, Kanami, is the main songwriter and the rhythm player, Miku, writes most of the lyrics. The way the members explain it, Kanami composes the basic song structure including guitar parts, a vocal melody, and programed drum and bass parts to a give sense of what she feels the song needs. She creates the backing track and produces a deme. The base player and drummer work up their own parts based in part on the programmed tracks provided. They have a lot of creative input but mostly limited to their parts. The lead vocal contributes to the vocal arrangement and gives everyone feedback. Kanami owns the work in progress, adding the parts as they are completed and produces a final demo.

"From Now On" carries on a fine tradition of B-M instrumentals. Btw if you wanted to give me one of your Miller's i'd happily have a can with you. I'd probably drop a shot of whisky in mine tho cos us English folk like our beer a bit stronger. Kanpai.🙂🍻
