The theories presented by this channel are woven not only from text descriptions and lines of dialogue, but from the wealth of visual evidence in the game. Using methods inspired by real world historians and archaeologists, we can thoughtfully analyze the art and architecture of the Lands Between to answer questions like “Who built the Divine Towers?” “When was Farum Azula destroyed?” and “What really happened on the Night of the Black Knives?”

Rauh: The Original Alliance of Night and Flame | Elden Ring Lore
The Alliance of Night and Flame began with Rauh and the Smithing culture, who evolved into the Astrologers and Fire Giants. Rauh originated the idea of the “wisdom beyond stone”, the technology underlying the golems. The Astrologer’s conceptualization of the primeval current originated with Rauh. Their culture was responsible not only for controlling the flow of water in the Lands Between, but for controlling the flow of the spiritual energy cycle through life, death, and rebirth - the journey of the spirit through Night.

The Ancient Elden Empire is Revealed Thanks to a Road | Elden Ring Lore
Переглядів 99 тис.5 місяців тому
The Gold Road runs throughout all of the Lands Between and is a remnant of an ancient Elden Empire. New information from the Shadow of the Erdtree suggests that the people in the Shadow Lands were part of this empire. Excellent video
Don’t go chasing waterfalls please stick to the river and the lakes that you used to.
Amazing work on fleshing out the Rauh civilization,I thought they were like ancestors of the hornsent since you see alot of their kin here. But clearly they just refurbished it as their new home before messmer killed them. Another thing to note is that the Rauh civilization were so adept at infusing spirit into stone that the lands between residents later had no idea how to create the golems we see everywhere. Most demigod factions repurposed these golems to be guards and soldiers in their wars thus the golems we fight are the last of their kind. The fact that 2 golems exist at the base of the ruins of Rauh makes it pretty clear this civilization created them.
This is so great ❤ i love elden ring, ill never forget this
i think you’re def onto something. would be funny if miyazaki came out and said “we really didn’t think that deep into story and design, we just kept making up new abstract lore to explain some game mechanics”
Very well done.
Oooo something new! This is exciting!😮
I wonder if Radagon will ever be connected to the Rauh civilization
The weakest part of the theory is the context around the putrescent lake. The game appears to be conveying that the single broken stone coffin is leaking into the chasm beneath, creating the putrescent knight in the process. It doesnt seem like all of those coffins are intended to leak their contents into the chasm. There isnt much evidence of that being an intended process.
Watch tarnished archaeologist
The Tarnished Archaeologist also investigated this road and has his own hypothesis.
Thank you for this! Keeping track of all these clues is burdensome and one of my biggest questions is where does the Shadow Realm fit into the already established lore and timeline
Aaaand Radagon was a smith with red hair
Loved your content, voice, accent, everything! Looking forward for more lore videos!
I'm not a big commenter, in fact I can count on my two hands how many times have I ever written a comment. But I really hope this channel will do well 🙏🏻 and I felt that I had to express my appreciation for it. I would watch a video of this quality even if it was hours long while about the most mundane topic ever 😃. One can immediately tell that there was a lot of thought, time and effort given in the process of making this content. Seamless narration, a nice mellow sounding voice as a bonus, unique view of the lore, interesting remarks, there's no volume fluctuation throughout the videos whatsoever (sadly it's a rarity), carefully selected beautiful and eye catching shots from the game. Overall impact on par with professionally made documentaries in my opinion. Your work, extraordinary ... The mark of a true creator. Hope your endeavour will be rewarded. Thank you! ☺️
This was superb.. The quality of content, pacing and the background music.. Can't wait for the next one. Already subbed.. Thanks for all the effort put into this one..
U have that perfect audiobook voice! hope u know that! also great video, pls make more!
So this may be interesting (or a total red herring), but the floral inlay shown at 7:52? There's a similar pattern on the floor in the Theatre of the Divine Beast. Exact same flower in the center, concentric circles. Beyond the second ring the details do change. Edit: lol, nearly 20 minutes later this was mentioned, I was a bit enthusiastic there.
Alright amazing work you've convinced me of the alliance/cultural ties of all these groups
Hey, take my engagement, I hope you continue to grow! I enjoyed you video
1:50 so elden ring is Pokémon
I love archaeology and i can’t wait for the road video part 2 including SotE. If you lay the maps over each other it’s clear that the land of Shadow was once a part of the lands between, so you could probably find gold road connections.
Love you, you have a lovely voice dear.
AMAZING JOB & COMPILATION MY RESPECT AND FOLLOW 🌟
ymir is not a woman though
14:49 I think that Serosh played an important role in this alliance: he's referred to as "lord of beasts" in the hammer given by Gurranq, and there are some decorations in the shape of a lion head in Farum Azula (18:16), so I think that he was once a vassal to Placidusax and the lord of the beastmen. The beastmen have five fingers so I think that they built Farum Azula for the dragons, so it makes sense that their lord influenced the architecture of the new "elden capital" Leyndell
Well thank you youtube for not allowing me to post my comment...
Farum and Lyndell being linked would also explain why Gransax, Fortisaxx and Lanseax beelined to Lyndell when Placidusax fell as Elden Lord
Voice is so hawt
Now what's the link between spirit stone and the meteorites? hmmm
working on it lol. i do have one. something something black hole & gravity
We know an ancient culture came to the Lands Between through the ships in the ancient stone pillar reliefs in the Ancient Shaman Ruins and near the Ancestral Spirit Moose skeletons. These people also were believers in the Bull motif on the Stone Ships scattered across the lands between, but also believed in a more Animalistic Pantheon, but once here at aome point split to Ancestral Shamans and whatever became the path of the other side. The now-missing fork were said to have embraced the Twinbird, Eiglay the Snake, and others still, and were those who believed in maintaining the multiple facets of death, this would connect air /flow/ and their arrival and then Burial ships being near Charo's Grave and in other Rauh areas likely implies theyre possibly the ones who were the Water side of things. This also was the birth of the Astrologer culture so Rabbath's Rise being in the Shadowlands where they firat arrived, and that being the initial astelrologer's rise makes a ton of sense there. Likely landing in the Cerulean Coast and that also connects the bats and such to thw ruins. WE ALSO KNOW The Nox were descendents of the Numen, who are said to have come from across the waters, so this means the anvient Numen, huge humans like Renalla/Rellana's people, the ancient Albinauric women, Marika/Shaman, Godfrey, etc all being of that ancient lineage that entered an area where they quickly allied and learned from the local peoples and together prospered for a long time
I had actually heard a different explanation for the Ancestral Shamans. My friend told me Hawkshaw has a video about it, but that the Ancestral Shamans may not be as old as we think but rather they may a group who rediscovered and revived ancient shamanistic cultural beliefs and practices. They are a revivalist cult. The best piece of evidence is that a description says that they "eschew" letters and metalworking. "Eschew" means to purposefully avoid/not use. So its like they have chosen to go back to a former age's practices, which is a theme that Miyazaki has incorporated into a number of his games. The desire for a simpler age long past.
One thing very interesting in all the Elden Ring lore is seeing the parallels with, and analogues of, a lot of ancient history that Miyazaki himself loves to bring into the games. The "Giants" we know of IRL have some level of genetic connection to interbreeding with Neanderthal and other Hominid species in ancient times, which grew much larger in the evolutionary tree and had used Fire, Bone, and Stone tech much earlier than Sapiens, but also had understandings of controlled burns, crucible purification/shifting, and they had things like natural Resin pourings and chemical mixing and thus a lot of natural-material industry - which we are only catching up learning about because such tools would decompose over time - these technologies were shared in some capacity with the Sapiens that entered thwir areas later, but generally Neanderthal societies stayed inside Cave systems and up in much higher altitude areas. There's also a lot of history pointing to other hominids, almost all of which preferred higher altitudes it seems, all had stories of raining and rebirthing fire, serpents holding great sway over life and death, mass flash-floods from flash melting ice and river redirecting, and such. As well as a penchant for drilled holes in stones being centerpieces of toolwork. Love how deep Miyazaki takes everything! And great seeing people recognize those influences and story beats!
Oh damn I did not know that the Neanderthals were so advanced in their culture. It's so rude that we use their name to mean stupid. Also super interesting that they mainly stayed in cave systems because underground cave systems are a huge pattern in ASOIAF history, many underground cave systems in that universe's history, and I could never figure out why. There is also a race of hairy men, I wouldn't be surprised if that could be some nod to the Neanderthals. And yes I have heard of how the serpent motif goes back thousands and thousands of years. I think a very ancient conserved myth motif is the idea of a thunderbird vs. a water serpent? that is a very old story from native american myth but we also see a powerful serpent living in water in Jormungandr, Greek Python, the Naga in Hinduism, oh that one from that Mesopotamian myth that I think Tiamat fought... but yeah its all awesome. I am obsessed by why these stories and motifs continue to be important to us
Anyone tell me the name of the intro music?

@@NamelessSingerEldenRing by the way this is a great video from such a new channel. I subbed I hope you release more
I loved this video! So insightful! I'm working on a video about the links between ancient Mesopotamia and Elden Ring and to back up your claim, in one of their creation myth they mention that in the beginning there was no earth or sky but only an underground ocean. It really first with all the Rauh theories here!
So, I just now realized that two and three equal five and that there's some sort of significance there. I had not made that connection previously. I have done the big smart.
sometimes when we look too closely at the details we forget the basic stuff, like math! yeah definitely something something five fingers
The amount of headcannon going on in this community is reaching critical mass
ooooh "mass", i have a video coming up about that!!
@@NamelessSingerEldenRing lmao
I just found your channel and i have thoroughly enjoyed the content, i can't wait to see more and hope to see the channel grow in the future
I am on a big writing kick right now so that the next set of videos released will all be related to one another and build upon each other. i hope you will enjoy! give me a few weeks
@@NamelessSingerEldenRing I understand, ik these types of videos take a while to write so I'm not going to be trying to rush you , take as much time as you need don't stress yourself about it
Wooooooow Holy crap, I found myself here by accident, It was just on my recommendeds but.. I'm not disappointed. Just earlier today I came to the conclusion that I could start peacing together a timeline based on the fact that farum azula broke apart after the roads were made. I think there is a lot of really good connections here that are going to strengthen a lot of already ongoing theories that got a lot more clear when the dlc hit. Great job! Im really impressed that this is your first video because the quality and execution was mind blowing.
I have been doing lore since the game came out but I waited until I felt I had enough to make high quality content, and then I tried out a bunch of video stuff until I felt I had the right quality level. I hope you the takeaways from this video help you in your timeline! There is much more to come
@NamelessSingerEldenRing it really has! You, tarnished archeologists video about a great flood and a video I found about the fall of the sun realm from someone.. I think they were called occultonion I'll have to check whe. I'm not at work but those two videos absolutely shook my knowledge of what I thought I knew about the game lol I highly recommend giving them a watch they are very very recent
Can you imagine being the creators of a game a watching the fans piece it altogether. So much pride
god i would love it if they did. i wish i could translate this to japanese but idk how to go about that besides paying someone lol
So, it all comes back to Sacred Geometry
its definitely a big part! even bigger considering how many of the secrets to our universe and physics are about geometry, no doubt those patterns will continue to play an important role and we get deeper into the lore.
This was great!
