@@ruthgraham4313 I know what you mean. Yes, we knew him through music, film and books so it did feel like we knew him. I really should have written someone I never met. RIP Joe
It was very cool when Hellcat came along and signed him. A bunch of people massively influenced by The Clash, but now in a fantastic position themselves and able to help him out. The whole thing went full-circle. Great example of Karma. Bet they probably shook his hand off.
Thanks, some of the best advice to live by is in this interview........ "Don’t forget you’re alive, that you’re not dead, for that is the greatest thing" I will follow his words until the day I die, one of the smartest men that ever walked the earth.
I remember watching this interview the day Joe died. There is nothing about that day that I forget, I heard the news on the radio during my lunch hour at work and it felt like I had lost my best friend. I never met Joe & yet he gave me more advice & guidance then most people I know. His words & music got me though some of the worst times & was there for the best of times. 9 years later and I'm still doing the same thing on dec 22, watching & listening to the clash
You state........Joe & yet he gave me more advice & guidance then most people....." Joe Strummer was a drug addict and loser. A most overrated "musician". See his interviews....filled with HATE. His group/friends ( he had no real "friends".....just co-junkie druggies) would go out at all hours of the night and beat people up for no reason. Thinking it was cute. MGmattbruh......you state: He gave you advice and guidance How much of a loser are you??? Looking up to this total POS for "advice"? You have to be kidding me!!!!!!
@@hellobonappetit1657 You don't get it! Back in that days of the Clash they were considered the next Beatles. If you lived back then you would know and understand the iconic presence of Joe Strummer. That's kind of ignorant remark to make!
That last quote, I heard while I was watching The Future Is Unwritten documentary. I hardly knew about the Clash, but I was interested in them. Without the last quote in this interview, I probably wouldn't be alive today. It saved my life! Rest in peace, Joe. Hopefully all of us can meet you up in Heaven and hang out around the biggest campfire there ever was.
Dear Joseph, your realism and defined morals for life are your legacy.I still wipe the tears from me given the last comments from you in this piece. You left us so suddenly..I was 35 and I cried like a baby in the shower when i got the news. Your comments at the end of this thing make it shocking years down the line. I swear, I still can't believe he's gone. That is the kind of impact he had on me.
Me too. Crazy how a stranger's death can have such an impact. R.I.P Joe wherever you are
he wasn't a stranger but if he was I'd suffer too
