People here are fighting about Stefan's true love in my opinion, as Steroline fan , Stefan's only true love was Damon, not Elena or even Caroline. Stefan, for the sake of his brother, gave up his love for Elena and stopped fighting for her ,and he told her that he was sitting and waiting for Damon to make a mistake so that she would know his realty and she abandone him and returned to him, but after a while he stopped waiting because he loved the person that Damon had become and remembered that he loved his brother more than anything and that Elena reminded him of the things he loved about his brother because she made him happy and made him a better person +

let me tell something stefan loved caroline but it wasn't pure love he felt pity responsibile too he thought he owed caroline so he satyed by her side when there was no elena when he sacrificed his love for her to have her brother but about elena he was in love with her in a pure way in a way that he would put her first no matter what in a way that his heart got warm when he did things for elena but he did things for caroline out of guilt he wasn't completely in love with her had he ever had doubts with elena had he ever run away from her but he had doubts when it came to caroline some said it is because he wanted to have perfect relationship with caroline but they are wrong he wanted to be perfect with elena too but didn't hesitate that is the difference elena is the one for him is the love of his life eventhogh caroline loved him more and did sacrifice for him more and deserved him more but at the end of the day it is elena who stole his heart

Stelena is an endgame, I honestly don't know why the most of the fans of tvd prefer Delena. Okay, Elena and Damon had a strong bond between them but Stefan's and Elena's relationship was way better, their love was so pure. May this show is over for years now, but it still hurts me that Stelena wasn't an endgame.
