The wreck is laying on its side at the sea floor, so the orientation of the structures looks odd. Otherwise it's a very cool site!

we need to make all coastlines no fishing or taking for 5 miles out to sea... then maybe our oceans can recover from humanity
Wish I didn't hear that engine. So mesmerizing otherwise.
Very enchanting seascape. Thank you for sharing! 🐟🐠
Carmel has the bluest water in norcal
Absolutely breath taking! Thanks for sharing! would you mind to share what the entry point and how deep this is? I'd like to take a free-diving photography with this as the background. The problem is if this protected area, my idea cannot be fulfilled because I need to bring a big gun as props.
Entered at McAbee beach, and yes it’s a protected area.
@ thank you very much for the reply. i will ask game warden next time i see them, see if i can bring the gun without shaft, than add it in post. 🎉
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this magical scene.
There's a barge wreck out there?? How do you get to it? I can barely find the Nitriduim fields on a good day 😂
You can find the instruction here. Best to get there with doubles and DPV. scuba.spanglers.com/location/san-carlos-beach#barge
Nice scene @1:42 with crab and anemone. I don't remember see any Kelp Perch @2:14 in a Monterey video.
They seem to be common but I’ve only seen very small ones. Wikipedia says they can grow to 8 inches 😯
@@calvinwen9320 I've seen a lot in Channel Islands but probably never an 8 incher. Typically pretty small. The seem to like the kelp canopy.
漂亮
Great footage! In the last scene was it an octopus?
It’s a fish, likely cabezon.
wow absolutely magical
So many sea lions!
Lobos and Monastery are 2 of my favorite dives in the world. I feel so lucky to be able to dive there whenever I want!
interessting to see the kind of dive site in your area ! thx fot sharing
I’ve played Subnautica. I know what’s in that kelp forest 😬
😂
Insanely beautiful wow
Maybe not you're most exciting dive, but who knows, a GWS could show up any second ;-) Awesome structure and vis. Too bad the urchins got to it. Hopefully some day it will recover. Interesting geology up there, but I don't know much about that.
This area is known for the awesome structures. I wonder what they look like before urchins took over.
@@calvinwen9320 They looked awesome I'm sure.
We need to do our part to control the urchin population since their normal predators are too few to make a real difference.
Agreed. It’s frustrating that this area is part of SMCA and no take of urchins are allowed.
Beautiful dive and a great capture, as always!
Thank you!
And I had a ball watching your footage! I am slightly envious of you having Wonderland in your backyard, but thank you for sharing.
I definitely feel lucky being close to dive sites!
Love it but that scooter noise is hard to listen to.
Beautiful!
How long ago was this taken? Viz looks decent.
Just today
@@calvinwen9320 Thanks
We saw the anchovy bait ball in breakwater too! Amazing!
The music is perfect. First time seeing a kelp forest.🙏
Hi Calvin! Love your videos, I watch them while I work and dream of diving instead...
Thank you!
beautiful 🌿
Very beautiful!
this place is worth going into the water even in medium visibility. nice!
Crazy lighting is quite artful.
That was delightful. I just got certified and I'm getting drysuit certified in a few weeks. I can't wait to explore Monterey!
Congrats! Drysuit is a game changer 👍
My dad. And I keep missing the fields and then the one time we actually found them. My camera wasn't working And I didn't find out till I got home.
Beautiful video! I'm working on editing a couple videos from my dive off hidden beach off cannery row.
Been there and done that. Super experience.
Wow! Very nicely done. Beautiful!
Brings back old fond memories... Thanks from Hawaii.
😍😍
Amazing! The sea lions seem so curious and friendly!
Don't suppose you can get to this place from scorpion cove can you?
The dive boat leaves from Ventura harbor. I don’t know exactly where this particular site is.
Could you please share what underwater camera equipment you use? Been looking for something good.
GoPro 10
Beautiful footage and quality ❤
Another great local dive video. Thanks.
This needs to be made available as a screensaver for TV. So interesting how lobster react when not threatened. Top notch, Thank You
I'm hoping to go here next year. Which camera did you use to film?
Just GoPro Hero 10
Wow, so so pretty. Well made. Diving the Channel Islands just landed on my short list thanks to this.
Great play with light! Enchanting! Here are the sea slugs I could spot: 0:21 - Dirona albolineata (Alabaster Nudibrunch - my dream is to see one some day...), 2:47 Scleradactylidae (it's a sea cucumber actually), 4:29 Clown Dorid. Yellow ones are sea lemons. Cool new trend is to add these to iNaturalist portal for the record. Thanks for sharing Calvin!
Thank you!
Beautiful as always! I’m jealous for the dirona albolineata 😅. Where exactly did you find it?
@@FintasticBeasts somewhere near the coal chute cavern
Great vid!
That is a great dive todo. One of my favorites.
The "urchin barrens" are bad!!! Result of giant sunflower sea stars locally extinct. The cause is sea star wasting disease started in 2013-14. Sunflower stars were natural population control for urchins. The sea otters wont even eat them as they sense the urchins are in starvation resting mode so no "uni" inside worth eating. Smashing the urchins with hammer can be counter productive if urchins are at breeding time the eggs/sperm gets released in clouds and makes it worse!
"Metridium field" is off San Carlos Beach in Monterey Bay, CA. Draw a straight line down to bay down Reeside Ave to beach.
More videos like this please! Love diving
