As a Sonoma county resident, this would have been devastating to us, and to your point, to agriculture throughout the state and nation. Happily, it died monumentally with a 15% yes to 85% no vote…as it should. Coming from a dairy family this vote was so important to me and my family. Bless you for getting the word out and helping to educate folks that don’t understand the intricacies of animal farming. I do fear the work has just begun for the animal agriculture industry. Years ago this measure would be unimaginable. Now the dynamics of voting and understanding of agriculture and the view of animal based agriculture has completely changed, and the loud minority is taking their radical beliefs to the streets. There needs to be more outreach to communities from agriculture to help people understand what it takes to feed America and why farms operate the way they do. Again, thank you so much for what you do here, and my thanks to you and other farmers for feeding America.

I love this episode and that you brought up wood pulp. I live in NB Canada where a large part of our economy comes from forestry and wood transformation. My father has worked in the pulp and paper industry for 30 years. There is one family in particular (the Irving's) that monopolises the industry in our area from planting the trees to shipping the toilet paper and diapers they manufacture. It's been. Interesting to see how market prices for lumber and other things during covid reflects (or lack there of) the prices we see on the shelves for these products. Great conversation!
