Conan's Casio Corner: EDC Episode 1- "The Overlooked"
So, I've been excited to start doing these Casio videos. Having built up a fair collection over the last several months, I've gone down the rabbit hole and found some great stuff that not only makes great additions to EDC loadouts, but also are just GREAT pieces to own in general. I've got more planned to sprinkle in randomly, but if have a request of what to carry for "what if", let me know! It's hard to beat the price, the quality, and the variety of what Casio has to offer, so it's of course immediately become my favorite brand.
Feel free to reach out any time on one of my videos or email me at conanthelybarian@gmail.com
Thank you for spending your time with me!

Some fun ones here for sure! The holiday is coming, and I've been thinking A LOT about gear and stocking stuffers. Hopefully these help you check off someone on your list or just help you treat yourself! Kind of a random one here, but I'm always excited for new flashlights and a random beater knife. Also, like I mentioned, the day I filmed this, the channel hit 1.5 subs!! Thank you so much! I'l...

Back again, and this time with probably one of the most useful EDC items- PENS! Still stuck on the Victorinox theme for this one. There are some HUGE savings on Amazon right now, so it's the perfect time to pick one up! There really are combinations and tools for anyone on these. Especially on the larger load outs, and even on the 58mm models. Hopefully this actually helps show off what these different features look like and why they matter. Also- totally forgot to mention...

We always used a sewing needle to dig out a burried splinter when the tweezers failed. I would say the toothpick is a handy substitute because you are less apt to lose it.

I have seen small bags like your using on Amazon, that are much heavier duty with a zip loc type top that hold up way better, and you can stuff more in without the sides busting out. Also I knew a guy who worked for the red cross, and he said that the kitchen spice Alum works like the stop bleed, only it hurts more.

Sorry, its a great kit, but let me return you to reality. An urban edc should help you in some real life cases, and, unfortunately, we are not safe now. An experience of Ukraine when people with european backround suffer from orcs could help. The first thing that you need in urban EDC is a cash. Than - an id card or, at least a copy of it. Then, probably, a gas mask that can help you to leave a place in a fire. Then gloves to do some strange things. A lot of painkillers. After that we can think about signaling if we are safe. Whistle and flashlight. After that knife and matches. And then it can be a sewing kit to repair pants ))

hello there! i can't believe there aren't any comments on this. I'm a dad, and as I was perusing UA-cam about EDC stuff, I came across this video. I have to say thanks a lot for the idea of a child-entertainment-oriented carry. I have a 3 year old boy who gets antsy when we're out to eat. so thanks to your video, I'll be looking into things I can put together to make a similar kit. thanks a lot!

This was my first Civivi knife. I really love it, and carried it for a while until I got the Elementum II. Now it's living in my drawer, but it's still one that I have good feelings about. One of my friends is just getting into knives, so I think it'll be a gift for him.

I (almost always) carry atleast one small powerbank for my phone. Especially with longer days where I use my phone more often (long train rides and so on), battery life on phones, laptops etc can really run out quiet easily. I like to game while I´m on a train ride and you can imagine it kills the battery easily, That´s why I always carry one. Thank god they exist and are fairly affordable. Couldn´t imagine living without one. Definetly an essential "tool" as you mentioned. Also glad I´m not the only guy who "collects" them :D

Great kit. Really awesome suggestions throughout and inexpensive. I really liked the flashlight, and LOVE the Kershaw Cinder. I bought one and thought it was a cute package opener, but I added a snake knot lanyard to it and can get a full 4 finder grip. It sits next to my keys on my way out the door and I grab it all the time.

One minor but interesting thing I learned during the Texas/Northern Mexico Winter Storm power outage (yes, even some Mexican states, like our neighbor Coahuila, lost power too) was a need for a night light. Glow sticks take up that job perfectly. (Bet the media nuts and Conspiracy-turds didn't tell you that Mexican states lost power as well.)

@ConansEasyDadCarry If I get any lighter, the tornados will whisk me away. I am familiar with HVAC Budget...and others. No idea what he has to do with this. As you exoerienced, those SAK scales are very fragile. The blade profile on SAK knives is wrong. SAKs do not have good files. The SAK scissors have a very fragile spring. It is always broken, or goes flying somewhere else. SAKs have mostly useless tools. SAKs come preloaded with a limitless supply of nasty oil. SAKs have veey cheap, shiny steel. A tool is required to extract any implement from a SAK. Victorinix' warranty is not workable, abd covers almost nothing. Anything sent in for warranty takes more tgan a year...and counting. I own almost 50 Victorinox products. More than 30 of them are at Vixtorinox. All of them broke the first time I tried to use them. Vuctorinix keeps sending me half-fixed SAKs. It wastes my money, having to kerp sending Victorinox junk back to them. I should not have to pay to fix their mistakes. Most of the SAKs were given to me by well-meaning, albeit ill-informed and brain-washed people. Most birthdays and Christmases, someone has gicen me a SAK. Every time, they stupudly think that this one will be better than the last. The SAK invariably breaks the same day. Bad design, bad implementation, poor quality, and no backing. After a litany of constant failures wuth SAKs, there is bothing left to like. No positive attributes with SAKs or Victorinox. Having disassembled both Victorinox and Leatherman tools, Leatherman are easier. Victorinix SAKs require more parts to re-assemble. Really, they should only need to be modified to correct mistakes. For Victorinox, the scales, frame, and just about every implement needs to be corrected. It would be easier to start from scratch. I used to make and selll knives, so I probably could, but the knives I made were fixies, and much larger, and my equipment was sold 30 years ago.

  • @googleuser6635
    @googleuser6635 3 місяці тому

Rather humorous. You struggled with replacing the scales on a victorinox, yet seem to think you have the skill to customize a Leatherman. The anslogy would be that, since you managed to tie your shoes, you figured you could make a shoe. Actually, Leatherman multi-tools aren't for show. They are tools. Although mods aren't difficult, they require attention to detail. Many people don't modify their Leatherman tools, because mods aren't needed. Victorinox SAK mods usually require pin replacement. The scales break and fall off constantly, with any real use. I'm not into toys and such flimsy, tiny, useless items. You might want to do whatever you are talking about on camera.

Lighten up bud 🤣 All I said was that I'm *capable*. Definitely don't have the skill or know-how right now. But I AM super good at tying my shoes! And there's actually a pretty big community of leatherman and multitool modders out there. You should check out Hvac Budget! He does some cool stuff with different tools. Sorry that you don't like SAKs. I think you're missing out. But everyone in EDC has their own preferences- that's what makes the conversation interesting.

The one thing I'd add, having raised a son and been a tomboy, would be a tiny sewing kit. You know, The kind with a small card (1"x1.5" ish) and 4 different colors of thread, a needle, and a threader. I noticed you already have a couple of safety pins. My SAK has better scissors or folding scissors aren't bad.
