It just blows my mind these gorgeous fish are swimming around in a lake. I live in Oregon and most of what we see is rainbow trout.
I dobe hundreds of hours in the lake. Never at night That is wher crocks are hunting So risky
Awesome. Thanks!

Great footage👍
Great vids! Looks like Pseudotropheus saulosi are bouncing back after being depleted?
Wow! Great to see you getting a lot of subs quickly! Already passed me in a few days, and you just started the channel😃. Keep up the great work!
He deserves a lot of subs!
Muito bom show
I love this video as I am a keeper of Peacocks and Haps.
What fish is that at 1:24? The splotchy one
Livingstoni
1:23 What are these fish and why are they not more popular?
Look like some type of venustus maybe
It’s a livingstoni
Nimbochromis livingstonii. Not popular because of their highly predatory behaviour towards smaller fishes. Need a big tank.
Great footage! Do you offer diving services in Malawi? I would love to dive there.
This guy doesn't, but if you visit aquaafrica.co.uk you will find some information on dive tours in Malawi.
@@majorbruster5916 great thank you!!
@@NoahAngelo pleasure! I dived all the spots in the southern half of the lake when I was doing a study on the fishes. My good friend Ad Konings accompanied me as we photographed fish for his big book back in 1989. He used to do study tours to the lake a few years ago, but I don't know if he still does, since he moved to El Paso from Europe.
@@majorbruster5916 Oh wow that’s amazing. I really want to dive in the lakes but am figuring out the best places and how to get out on the lake. Favorite dive spot so far?
@@NoahAngelo Many - Kande Island, Chipoka, Chisumulu. All good fish watching spots.
came here from aquarium coop
What are them circles in the sand
Fish Nests
Nice aquarium. It's huge 😊
Such beautiful fish in such murky water. I always pictured the African rift lakes crystal clear.
Well, in places they are. It depends on the time of year. During the dry season when there is little rain and wave disturbance the water close to shore is very clear, when the rains come and the winds blow the sediment is stirred up and limits visibility. Offshore, apart from plankton blooms, the visibility is like what you see in the video. This is L. Malawi. L. Tanganyika is very similar. Small streams flow into the lake and during the dry season the clarity is good, whereas in the wet season these become muddy and bring in a lot of suspended solids. Up north where the Ruzizi Delta flows in, the visibility is zero until about 1km into open water. What you see in the video is as good as it gets for mbuna.
Are all these cichlids carnivores? No vegetation at all, it appears? Cool video, never seen them in their natural habitat.
Mostly algae eaters
Although it's difficult to see, there is a thin cover of aufwuchs on the rocks which a lot of the mbuna graze.
Great to see my fish in their natural environment 😊
Great video and footage
I want to someday travel and visit the natural habitats of aquarium fish. Even thought I don't keep African Cychlids, it's a great video✌
