Decorating for Christmas 2024 - NEW video (Modest Swedish decorating)
Merry Christmas or God Jul. Watch me decorate for Christmas. This is a video of what I would call typical modest Swedish decorating. Some may hade more decorations than me but I think this is just enought, or as vi say in Sweden "lagom".
I love Christmas movies. Please leave a suggestion of a new Christmas movie for me to watch in the comments!

Here in Germany a lot of people are watching 3 hazelnuts for cinderella (3 Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel) at christmas time. I really like Polarexpress with Tom Hanks, Groundhog Day and Scrooged with Bil Murray. Me an my husband are watching al Parts of Harry Potter at the moment. Today it will be time for the Order of the Phoenix. Wish you and your family a calm and peaceful christmas time.

Hi! I have been looking for Nordic farming videos such as this for quite some time. I am not a farmer or gardener (yet), but I am looking to move to Sweden soon and I am very seriously considering starting a small-scale farm when I move. Thank you for producing such a great video. I will be looking through your other videos too as I am feeling very inspired by this. I'm trying to research the landscape of Swedish farming, getting an idea of climate zones, what foods can grow, how long the seasons typically are, how to extend seasons etc. I'm fascinated to see you can grow corn! I would like to grow that but was worried that the short season and lots of snow and cold would make the land inhospitable for corn. Just a thought for your corn, have you considered making corn tortillas with it? I think corn flour lasts well in the pantry, so it could be another use for your produce... will go well with a salsa from those tomatillos and beans lol! Can I ask, are you northern or southern Scandinavia, and how long is your typical growing season? Thanks again, I'm feeling super relaxed and inspired!
Thank you so much for your nice comment! I hope you find our own place in Sweden soon. We live in the middle or center of Sweden. Growing zone (växtzon) 4. We normaly have our last frost in the middle of may and can expect some cold nights in the beginning of october. So to grow "warm" crops I always start them inside. In the south of Sweden I guess you can start corn outside but where we live it's not possible. Yes, making tortillas could be an option! I could always try to dry some of the corn and try 🙂
This was so beautiful thank you for sharing you have such a adorable lovely home

I used to cast pine cones in aluminum and bronze. I used casting plaster to do the pouring. I would clean the cones and seal them with a spray of polyurethane. I would then mount them on a wax base that would also act as the 'sprue' where I would pour the metal in. I would then cut the bottom out of an old food can and set it over the cone assembly. I was using a fine grain casting plaster like jewelers use for casting. You mix up the plaster and then we would vibrate the plaster to push a lot of the air out of the mix. I poured the plaster over the cone so that I had at least 25 mm covering the bottom. We had a vacuum chamber in the building so I would put the wet plaster mold in the chamber and turn on the vacuum pump; a really good vacuum cleaner would probably also work. This lowers the air pressure in the chamber and the bubbles will rise to the top of the pour and pop......kind of like watching pancakes cook on the stove. When the bubbles stop you let the plaster cast set up for a couple days and then put the whole thing in a ceramics kiln where it melts the wax and turns the cone to ash. You blow it out well and then pour in your metal. I think the same process would work well with your cast epoxy. Epoxy was something I worked with in high school casting plant and animal specimens for our biology class. That was way back in 1965 and very early in the use of casting resins. I appreciate watching you work. Keep going what you do now will be very interesting memories in your future.
Wow that sounds very interesting! I bet the pine cones looks fantastic! They will certainly last forever to. I must try something similar in epoxy 😀. Thank you liking my DIY- attempts! Or should I say: - Tack för att du gillar mina gör-det-själv-försök?! Since you name in EnGammalAmazon (med lister o krom?)
