2017 Porsche Macan Rear Shock removal
I think he was big enough brother!
THANK YOU so much for the video, I changed out my water pump and it's back up and running perfectly! I would suggest using some flux when you solder your new leads into the motor. It helped me so much control where it went and stayed. Thanks again!
Thanks for your video; it helps me understand the shock mechanism of macan.
Same issue. I’ll tinker with it tonight to see if this is the fix. Thanks for the video

Harmless garden spider, she will catch all the mosquitos for you!
Your skills set is impressive. Is there anything you can't fix?
@@Barbiemom007 Thanks, obviously I struggle with getting audio right.
If when you are trying to remove the cap on the reservoir side it starts to untread from the bottom? How do you hold it without crushing the thin aluminum tube?
Have not had that problem but I would try a strap wrench around the tube. Being careful not to crush the tube.
@@The-Old-Dude I tried that and damaged the holes in the blue top with the removal tool, by appling too much force. I even heated the threads to see if that would help. I think the company that rebuilt them for me years ago put lock tight on them. so, I'm ordering new shocks, and then I will see if I can get these apart again. thanks
My bleed screws/bolts on top keep leaking, recommendation ?
Only things I would think is that there is something in the bottom of the bleed screw hole that does not allow them to seat properly or the seat or screw is damaged at the seat end.
Have a Vevor ice maker and noticed that it's virtually the same product just rebranded. $300 ice maker cant even last for half a year on the stock pump. Glad I found this!
Good to know as ours has a new problem I am struggling to fix.
Ah, the good boys of summer 😎🏊♂️
Got to love them!
So glad I found this! Ours just died today. Your description of the issue was EXACTLY what ours is doing. Ordering the replacement pump to now will get this fixed up once we get it!
@@Meetthefurbombers Good luck.
Beautiful Dog!
Thank you very much!
Looks like the same deseign as the $500 GE Opal ice maker. It was Chinese junk too. Not a good one on the market.
@@squirrel3200 This one takes some maintenance to keep it going.
Good video man keep it up!
Appreciate it!
We are waiting to see what we get drawn for in 2024

Thanks
Pretty dog❤❤❤
Thanks
he is swimming away from the 80s hair rock!
No way. He is a rocker!
That is the first time I’ve ever seen a dog without putting his nose in the water and over his mouth 😅he was so cool😂❤❤❤❤
He a waterdog and loves the pool.
I miss my Rottie... anytime i see a Rottie in a video & no Vick brothers, it's an automatic 👍🏾!
They are great dogs. Now that I know people are interested I will be posting more of him. He is a blast.
He’s waiting for you to be the alpha and lead, you goofy
You are likely correct. He likes to race me across the pool and gets irritated if I win
@@The-Old-Dude Oh, so he just wanted a fair race then haha. He’s a smart loyal boy. Love it
I think this is the problem we are having on our drivers door.
This is the 3rd door on this truck that has had this issue. Not bad for 180K miles and this door has been opened the most.
You sure the tensioner it is the best?
Got to be in the top 10.
Beautiful Rott!
Thanks
cool video dude, looks great!
Glad you like it! I have noticed that as my knees get worse I like these steps even more.
Gorgeous Rottweiler and beautiful pool, I'm super jealous especially on these hot days lately
Thanks, Axel, that is the dogs name loves the water. However he appears to be camera shy.
That pool looks so good. My xl would love it. I'm pretty sure she got some fish dna from somewhere!!! ❤🐶❤️
@@Nev-we2bb Thanks, Axle loves it. He usually swims laps on his own but was not feeling it this day.
I wish you would have shown how to get the sides off…. For the life of me I can’t get mine off
Good Point. If you will go to about the 16 min mark I detail how all this goes back to together. For removal just reverse this process.
Thank you that helped! I was able to get it apart! Now just waiting for my new pump to arrive.
@@tannerg2433 Good luck. For additional reference you should watch the video I made more recently when mine started leaking water. I had to take the ice slide apart which would help with the pump removal as well.
I have a slightly different version (GIMN-1000C) and I can’t get the sides off bc the screws from the on/off section go right through them so I’m unable to remove either the on/off section OR the sides completely
@@amyerickson449 you have to take the screws out of the top of the on off section and then lift it up and there are screws through the front of the machine that hold the sides on behind on section and behind the lower trim, I guess what you call it, at the bottom of the front. I show taking both off and on because this was the hardest to get off.
Could you add a buy link to the motor DM45DS-20/14, can't seem to find it.
If my memory is correct I cover this in the video somewhere,. Basically we had to order this part from the RV store. www.lippert.com I think
I'm soldering quite a bit as I'm fixing whatever I deem worth saving from the landfill. What I'm recommending is that you use solder flux. I like the paste though you need to warm is up with the tip to soften it. Twist the braid then dip it in the softened flux. Insert yout shrink tubing if you got some, otherwise use some tape later. Then dab a bit of flux on the solder terminal. Now make hook or make contact both items. Dip your soldering iron tip in the solder paste and melt a little solder on it. Then apply the tip to your joint. It should not require more than 2 seconds. Check that the joint is strong by tugging gently. Then cover the solder joint with your PVC insulating tape or heat shrink tubing. Voila! Easy-peazy!
Thanks for the tips. I have come to realize this is not one of my strong pursuits.
You didn't mention which side the red wire faces on the pins, is it the back pin or the front pin. Thank you
I am not sure this matters because of the way this pump works. However I like to put thing back just like they came out and If I recall the red wire goes on the terminal across from the pump inlet. Check out the vid around 7:45 mark for a visual.
The red buttons are to remove the dust canister and cyclone for better cleaning. You should do it every 3-6 months only use a damp cloth. Also the filters that came with your unit are washable. I would not throw them out if I were you. To clean the top filter correctly I would remove the see through top with a flat head screw driver to clean it out better. You’ll be shocked at what you find in there, lol. Don’t forget to let them dry for 24-48 hours. Thankfully you got the extras to use in the meantime. Don’t forget that using the vacuum on “Max” damages the battery cells quicker.
This device is all new to me so I appreciate the info. FYI the cheap filter broke about 3 weeks in so I ordered a couple of official Dyson filters. They do seem more restrictive on air flow but defiantly fit better. As a plus they are also the correct colors.
Wish you had posted this a year ago. We had something similar happen to ours but just purchased a new one. Guess we will never know.
Appears to be a common issue.

Beautiful table, thanks for sharing. Would never make fun of Buc-ees shorts.
Thanks
Your audio capture would benefit from using from using a lapel mike (remote mike) instead of the phone/camera mike.
Thanks I have been looking into those and will be trying them out on future videos
Laws of Physics - that made me laugh. Even better, if you turn on CC, torquing becomes twerking… Thanks for the video.

I'm enjoying this process. It's cool that you can involve the family and making an heirloom that can be passed down.
That is what makes all this worth the effort.
Bottom looks beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished table.
Very soon!
Excellent video. Im about to service mine.
Glad it helped
Great video! Thanks! I’m in Houston too. And have the same problem on the same motor Drivers side rear stud. Do you wanna take on fixing it for me?
Sorry, that is not something I do, I only work on my own stuff.
I’m glad I found this video! Thank you for your help!!
Glad it was helpful!
Glad it helped
Just did this on my twenty year old liquid cooled diesel Walker. Was shown by a mentor all the in's and out's of the jackshaft, bearings and collars. #1. If you emery cloth and clean where the bearing fits into, you won't need any special tools. #2 Old shafts will have wear and cause vibration and will take out new bearings. Always replace the jackshaft when doing the bearings. If you feel the jackshaft housing after running it you will feel heat. That heat wouldn't be there on a new jackshaft. #3 The center of those collars are offset and to tighten them correctly there is a little hole where you pound with a dowel, opposite way that the pully turns. This tightens the bearing in place with the collar. Then tighten allen screw. Nice video! I've always fixed my own stuff. If you've got a dealer like I got you avoid him at all cost's!!
Thanks good to know. This is why I like UA-cam, sharing of knowledge.
What is the Amazon pump model or if you may have a link thanks
I will have to find that recipe, hang on
I would like to know how much are the bearings I swapt a hole jackshaft assembly it was almost 300.00. They are expensive and know pullies come with it.
And that’s why I work on my own stuff. If I remember right, those bearings were about $30 each and I used the time can bearings I would not go cheaper because it’s too hard to work on so I want to last
Great video, I'm was torn between the Crown and the Dorman. This is the first video I've seen with the Dorman. I think I am leaning that way since my heat shield is rusty and needs replacement. The Dorman comes with all the parts, shield, gasket and down pipe bolts other then the 6 manifold bolts. Thanks for making the video.
This one has worked well, zero issues.
Thanks for the detailed video! I even went a step further and drilled a few small holes in the bottom portion of the cover, so if an water did get past my silicone seal job, it would drain back into the bin.
That crossed my mind as well, but I could not figure out a way to clean that space. Need to remember this is an ice machine and mold is a an issue on any ice machine that is not inclosed in a freezer.
Do you remember the thread pitch for the IFP and for the cap on the reservoir?
I have no idea what IFP stands for. Nor do I know the thread pitch for the cap at the top of the shock body but the top of the reservoir is held on by c-clip if my memory is correct.
