This was our first time visiting and I can say without a doubt that we will be back! I would love to hike further back into the wilderness and get closer to uncompaghre peak!

@DrifterJourney Yes, if you hike up to the pass after the road ends, you get a spectacular view of Wetterhorn Peak.

I was looking at the map and really wanted to head up there but it's pretty far and we didn't have the gear for it with us. Next time!

Absolutely! We bought some peaches that were delicious! I was pretty impressed with the ridgeway farmers market, it had a lot of really cool stuff.

Thanks for watching! It sounds like the Ford can only hold 75lbs (I think that was the number) on the bed rails without adding a part that costs a couple hundred dollars. Seems dumb that they didn't just have it come with it and tack on that money to the cost since most people would probably want it.

Thanks for watching! I was telling Kevin that I'd like to see it without the back dinette (essentially shaving off 4 or 5 feet). 24 feet is still a little long but would be more manageable. I think the height is the real issue. I'd love to see something like those with a 2 piece top on a lift system. Also something much more affordable.

@@DrifterJourney The M1 is quality built. Better than the other pop-up toppers. Shawn, the founder, was there and answered all my questions. I heard your name "Drifter Journey" come up in conversation in the group checking out the Tune. Other campers that caught our eyes were the teardrop trailers. I was surprised at how they're built out with a lot of comforts of home. But then you have a trailer you're towing around. Keep up the great vids!

​@Snwjnky we completely agree about hauling a trailer behind. We've thought about it a couple times but it becomes limiting in a way that wasn't going to work for us. We're glad to hear that we were coming up in conversation. We love our Tune and are always looking to partner with them. Those conversations may lead to partnerships in the future. 🤞

Thanks for watching! Using the stake pocket seems like a good idea. The fix they did for us is holding strong so far. The Tune definitely has the disadvantage when it comes to the cantilever and weight for this style of camper. The space inside made up for that for our use and we're hoping the bed holds up from here on out.

Thanks for watching! Just know that this tent is large and fairly heavy so it might not be the best if you're looking to hike with it. Our favorite 4 season tent was the Mountain Hardware EV3 (doesn't look to be made anymore). Looks like their current model is the ACI 3.

Congratulations on your purchase! We find that ours handles pretty perfect so far. My only complaint is the rear end sag that we get (worse when fully loaded for a long trip). I wanted to keep the ZR2 suspension stock but have been thinking about swapping for an expedition leaf pack to hopefully eliminate the sag and keep the stock feeling. I'd probably add some sumo spring bump stops at the same time since we liked their products on our previous vans. Keep us posted on any changes or new findings you have.

Thanks for watching. We also like the 50 inch width to open up additional trails around here for us. It feels great so far and has not felt tippy yet. I'd say the only downfall for us is the small bed for hauling wood (although we still get 3 huge logs in it at a time) and the front seat space when we're hauling stuff. It works but is tight with 2 people and a big dog up there.

Thanks for watching! The vent fan setup is standard. I believe they do it that way to accommodate for different power options that folks will use. They might be able to to something special if requested but you'd definitely need to inquire with them. The width is amazing. There are a few others that are doing it now too.......but I still don't think they're as good at this point. Competition in the space is great news for everyone though since they'll all be trying to step it up a notch.

Yep.......I believe you are correct. The signs were confusing up there saying that you had to be 800(?) feet away from the Animas buildings. There were no signs up at that spot but looking now it seems it may have been a claim right next to forest land.

It really depends. I think most of those are technically open year round but will be blocked by snow from late October (?) usually into late June or July. I heard some years they never fully open.

@@DrifterJourney Amazon has plastic ones with wire teeth being the best for ten bucks. We make our own with wire teeth. You will get leaves and unripe berries mixed in but dump in a bucket of water and that'll float off. Next time lol
