How decode Kawasaki Z1 / H2 date codes 1972 1973
Kawasakis used to be filled with many date codes and it can be hard to figure out if your motorcycle is all original but hopefully I am helping you by showing you how to tell when a brake rotor was manufactured and don’t forget I’m looking for motorcycles to buy and you could email me at Oldparts at aol.com

Please reach out to me if you know of any old Kawasaki’s that need rescued anywhere in the United States and I will pay a finders fee if you turn me onto one that I buy. This motorcycle is not for sale. Email: old parts...

Looking to buy: 1980-83 KZ550A or 1981 GPZ 550. As a Kawasaki enthusiast, I enjoy finding on a the few Kawasakis of that era that had a six speed transmission. I will travel within the lower 48 states if you have one for sale. I an not after the 1982 - up 550cc "Unitrack" models, just like the "twin shock" models. If you don't have one, but find one for me, I will pay you a finder's fee. Thank ...

No mention of, 1969 CB750E. Always about the k model.?
According to Honda, they sold more K1s than any other model And there was only ever 136 K0 As there was using the parts left from the earlier models and the new parts what was to be on the K-1 All the earlier models, including the Sandcast Was just CB750K Which they named the dream. If you go to the Honda Museum in Japan, it’ll explain this.
Correct only experts seem to know this
I RELUCTANTLY SOLD MY 1970 (MANUFACTURED 12/69) HONDA CB750 K0 MOTORCYCLE WITH 45,191 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, Vin #: CB7501016269, ENGINE #: CB750E-1016228 FOR US$ 11,000 TO A CUSTOMER IN DENMARK MORE THAN 20-YEARS AGO. THIS AMAZING MOTORCYCLE CHANGED THE PATH OF MY LIFE, AND OWNED ME FOR MORE THAN 35 WONDERFUL YEARS! IT WAS PURCHASED IT IN THE SUMMER OF 1972 WITH LESS THAN 4,000 MILES ON IT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER FOR $935.00 (PLUS "USE TAX" AND "TRANSFER FEES", THOSE STATE BASTARDS!). BECAUSE OF A DESIRE TO PRECISELY MAINTAIN THIS MOTORCYCLE, I WENT TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER (KOLBE HONDA) AND ORDERED THE FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL. I LOOKED AT THE REQUIRED TOOL LIST AND SAW THIS "VACUUM CARBURETOR SYNCHRONIZER" AND WENT TO THE KOLBE PARTS MANAGER WHO TOLD ME THE PRICE WAS $387.00! SINCE THIS WAS MORE THAN ONE-THIRD OF WHAT I PAID FOR THE ENTIRE BIKE, I RODE TO THE LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AND PURCHASED FOUR VACUUM GAUGES, 3/16" RUBBER VACUUM LINE, "BUNDY" BRAKE LINE TUBING, AND FOUR METRIC SCREWS THAT MATCHED THE PORTS ON THE CARBURETORS. LOOKING AT THE SMALL PHOTO IN THE MANUAL OF THE SYNCHRONIZER, I REALIZED I NEEDED TO PURCHASE FOUR "NEEDLE VALVES" AT THE AQUARIUM STORE TO DAMPEN THE INTAKE PULSATIONS. I BUILT A COPPER MANIFOLD AND ATTACHED THE FOUR DISASSEMBLED GAUGES TO A VACUUM PUMP (AN OLD REFRIGERATOR COMPRESSOR) AND LEARNED TO CALIBRATE THE GAUGES SO THAT THEY ALL TRACKED EACH OTHER, THEY DIDN'T COME THAT WAY FROM THE FACTORY! I CUT THE BUNDY TUBING INTO LENGTHS, AND BRAZED IT TO THE METRIC SCREWS THAT I HAD DRILLED AND ADDED RUBBER O-RINGS. AFTER COMPLETING AND TESTING THE PROTOTYPE, I WENT BACK TO THE PARTS MANAGER AND SHOWED IT TO HIM AND HE SAID HOW MUCH FOR A QUANTITY OF TEN? AFTER NEGOTIATING A PRICE WITH HIM, ON MAY-15-1972 (MY 20TH BIRTHDAY) I FORMED MY FIRST COMPANY, THE "FOUR DESIGNS COMPANY" TO MANUFACTURE MY FIRST COMMERCIAL PRODUCT: THE "VACU-TUNE" CARBURETOR SYNCHRONIZATION GAUGE SET FOR HONDA FOUR MOTORCYCLES (I SOLD MORE THAN 3,000 OF THE GAUGE SETS). I SOLD THE COMPANY TO MY JR. HIGH SCHOOL FRIEND AND IT IS STILL IN BUSINESS, NOW RE-MANUFACTURING ELECTRONIC TEST AND MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENTS, SEE: WWW.FOURDESIGNS.COM). I KNOW THAT THERE IS A LOT OF INTEREST IN THE ORIGINAL PRODUCTION RUN OF THESE MOTORCYCLES WITH THE "SAND-CAST" MAIN ENGINE CASES, BUT AESTHETICALLY, I ALWAYS PREFERRED THE FINISHED LOOK OF THE PAINTED DIE-CAST CASES. I DEFINITELY PREFER THE LOOK OF THE K0 MODEL WITH IT'S MATCHING PAINTED SIDE COVERS, AIR-BOX, AND HEADLIGHT BUCKET. THE K1 MODEL JUST DIDN'T HAVE THAT UNIQUE LOOK THAT THIS ORIGINAL MOTORCYCLE IS FAMOUS FOR.
Nearly done with my full frame-off resto of the same bike! Will be concourse quality. Great video! -Kirb
Thank you, for the information.
Bad ass!!!
Bought a second hand 1970 Peacock Grey H 1 in 1979 .It made some of the greatest sounds under full throttle .Sounded like a huge vacuum cleaner .Friends would know I was coming as the electronic ignition would scramble their TV.

I'd love to own that bike. Nice video, well done
You can't drag race in loafers anymore. You have to have lace-ups, at a bare minimum.
Ahh the nostalgia while watching this. Bought a 1981 just like this (my first bike), and it's great to take a trip down memory lane. Thanks for posting.
Stunnnnnnnning. Absolutely love this classic machine !
C'est triste de laisser une aussi belle moto à l'abandon. J'ai acheté une h1 en 1972, elle est encore maintenant comme neuve.
I had the Kawasaki 350 for my first motorcycle. Wish I still had it.

Is it for sale
This has been fully restored and sold! I am completely in the market to find others like it if anybody knows of any. I will pay a finders fee.
Hi do you mind telling me how much you paid for 65 Triumph Chopper T120C 650? I am looking at one in similar condition, but hard to tell the market value on it
I bought 5 years ago when bikes were cheaper and paid $600, the sellers full asking price.
@@joeveal1 Thank you appreciate your response. Yes, prices are much higher now.
How much are you asking for the sl 350? Where are you located? Ken
This particular one is SOLD but I routinely find classic Hondas as I travel the lower 48 states buying motorcycles. Let me know what specific models you want as I am currently out of SLs.
Hey, I have a 1981 cb750f. Looking for a tank and does another year fit? Thx
I do not have any newer than 1976 and mine will not fit
Is it for sale?
No, I am desperately looking for another.
Not until I find another more original MKII to replace it with.
@@joeveal1 i can appreciate that. I have owned several rare bikes. An h2, 82 gpz1100, 81 gpz550, now have an 83 cb1100f but my daily driver is a zrx1100 in Eddie green. Love them.

Hi Joe: I have a cb750K limited 10th anniversary edition that I got back in 1979. Its different than other 750K's. In 88 I put her away while my family grew up. During Shelter in Place I restored her this past year.. Now its the nicks and the dandruff on the tank. What's left is matching the Burgundy metal flake, and the red ( cherry ) metal flake as touch up paints or pens. Joe could you recommend where I can find these - Thanks, OKD -
I need a set for my 1977 KZ 1000 if you have any for sale...

My favorite of the early paint schemes. In Japan they call it a "yellow tiger".
Looks like the full Doremi kit, awesome. My friend Wendy N knows a gent in SoCal with the Doremi 4/4, she says it's REALLY cool.
This was filmed on my phone at Doremi Collection headquarters and was a prototype set. Now they offer chromed sets. The roads awes awesome in Japan. I want to ride the west coast roads in CA.
Thanks Joe. There is a similar setup available from Delkevic, who also produce stock-pattern replacement mufflers for the original Z-1. I've asked a couple tuners about how they'd expect a 4/4 to affect performance. They say it typically hurts power at higher rpms but may give a small boost in midrange.
@@RickyJr46 Don't discount looks. I think Kawasaki missed the mark in certain ways when trying to capture the look of the 1973 Z1. Doremi immediately provided (when the Z900Rs was unveiled at the tokyo motorcycle show) parts for the Z900RS to make it look more retro. The 4-into-4 pipes, a proper 18 inch rear wheel, a longer plastic tail section, etc etc.
Looks are important! I'm impressed at how many oldtimers, including guys who've owned early Z-1s, mistake my candytone green and yellow 2020 for an original. Upon hearing the Z900RS specs they all agree it would run rings around their old bikes. Those gents always leave very impressed by what Kawasaki put together! They really dig it. On mine, the only cosmetic changes are the blacking-out of various silver trim pieces like front fender brackets, radiator side plates, side cover extensions, and boot guards. Doing that really highlights the quality paint and chrome. The bike looks so much more purposeful and businesslike.
A good friend raced a '72 H2 750 in AFM events at Sears Point with excellent results. Kauz was AFM #818 and a genuine wild man!
