Hi, The foam is an open cell type, it is breathable and allows moisture diffusion allowing timbers to breathe which prevents trapped moisture and subsequently rot. Depending on the type of application, in some instance a vapour control layer will need to be applied before the foam is covered by plasterboard, also in some instances the foam could retain a small amount of moisture given specific conditions with temperature and humidity but it has the ability to dry out, a condensation risk analysis should be performed for each job to determine the risk of interstitial condensation and the potential need for a further vapour control layer, these will be determined by the type of material the foam is applied to and the location of the property based on climatic conditions along with a few other factors.

Hi, First fix would in most cases be done prior to foam, you could create a service void with counter battens as well or cut a small Chanel in the foam as its soft and flexible it would be simple to do so. Same with any down lights a small section of foam could be ripped out by hand if required.

Hi, That is a very good question, I raised that with the manufacturer and unfortunately they could not give a definitive answer, I would advise against installing in high radon areas unless we had insulated the floor with our open cell foam that acts as an air barrier material in the sub floor, we are lucky that the area we operate in is mainly a low radon area but we will be checking the radon maps before installing.

The worst case scenario is that you need a new roof, possibly including rafters. This may not be as expensive as you think (plus you get a nice new roof).
