My grandfather

Excellent that our industrial and social history is being logged and recorded for posterity. Does not take long for the history and memories to dissappear then we are left in the position of never having access to what went on in the past and what events, buildings and industry built our area and country.

Sad news, Bill Ball died earlier today 19 April, 2024 at the grand age of 97. Sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at the Titanium Plant Waunarlwydd where he spent his last working years.

great work going on there hope to see the old engine being brought back to life and hopefully the lift to top of Kilvey hill will encourage visitors to the fantastic view up there

Great video. As I live on Carmarthen Rd. I'd like to help out or become a volunteer. My main interest is to restore two of the engines outside rolling mill and perhaps create a short running line. I've e-mailed the museum about this and am waiting for a reply.

Oh, do I need to speak to you. My plan is to get the Fireless loco running. Both projects can share a boiler and the restoration work on both our engines can also be shared.

Ah, this was the very first rivet! The jack backing up the rivet didn't survive so we had to come up with something sturdier. Great day with a great team! 👍
