today i came back for the atelier ryza collab, and try to find some clips that might hype me back up to play AS. but i dont think the hype is there anymore, i mean its never there in the first place. im a day one player too and quit after the maid dragon collab. the game doesnt scream bad or good. its just there, stagnant. the story is good, the art is good. but the gameplay is very repetitive. the modes are practically the same. one thing that i have been complaining is the tiles takes most of the screen (because thats their main gameplay mechanics) but i hope they can make it so it feels different, or spacious when going to a new map. like alchemist code, i know its a different game but they still use tile based and the map feels spacious and fresh when entering new area. idk how they would implement that but i hope they can do it. the monsters/mobs feels dull because throughout the main story + every events they will always be colorless dull monsters. im hoping for a new unique mobs thats not entirelly restricted to that concept. like ryza collab for instance, just put some mobs from ryza games in the events at least. the absence of powercreep also true, and the new characters skill isnt that much different from my existing parties anyways. its not like they have newer style ult animation or something.

Plenty lf things to do, contents and just other more stuffs to do. They also added sweep system, the main thing why i quit before was because its way too grindy. Now its aight

I love alchemy stars but one thing sadly about it is the lack of fanbase for it or marketability from it. It was really hard to even know the game existed cause barely ever see ever hear about it and same with findinf tutorial for it.

You'll need multiple teams of every element, so Nina is a very good addition for her versatility. She is a good detonator and can mimic a sniper pretty well.

My favorite game is Another Eden. There are few gacha games I consider to be underrated, the kind that aren't getting enough attention even when I think it's good, and both Another Eden and Alchemy Stars are like that in my opinion sadly. You probably won't like Another Eden cause you mentioned you don't want to play the gacha game for the story, and you also want to play the game casually. Another Eden is probably the closet gacha game you'll get to a single player Nintendo JRPG experience, even more so than Epic Seven, Granblue Fantasy, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, and Honkai: Star Rail (Most underrated among them despite being the closet sadly), but that also means there's no auto and most content has no Stamina and no coop/pvp as well as can't even add friends, but it also has no events as in all contents stay in the game forever including the collab so you don't feel like you miss as much during your breaks or for playing the game late which also mean very good free characters since they don't have to hold back since it's not limited and alot of free characters too and almost all equipment are grindable so none of them are in a banner and no duplicate system for the equipment too as well as no RNG stats not even a little like Granblue and no leader skills and also has open-world to explore but in 2.5D just like typical JRPG games in Nintendo. But this is precisely the reason why I like Another Eden so much though cause it means I can finally play the traditional JRPG games that never ends for being live-service, very little mobile data too since only thing that uses up the internet all the time are banners and auto-save, constantly adding more new mechanics too including the ones that doesn't involve combat for being open-world. The elements for Another Eden is 7 just like Genshin Impact. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, light, shadow, and ice. Just replace Genshin Impact grass with shadow and that's it. But there's also Slash, Blunt, and Pierce. So there's non-elemental, but also the combination of the 2 for both physical and magical stats like Fire Slash attack rather than Star Rail where it's just physical. And each characters also have their own skill-tree to either increase stats or unlock new skills from. Lol XD (Fun fact: The writer as well as music composer is the same as Chrono Trigger, so you may see few characters that resembles Chrono Trigger as well as similar plot and amazing music but not by the same company named Square Enix which may explain the advertising despite the legendary person plus alot haven't heard Chrono Trigger now too, writing aren't as good of course since it's not like it's the exact same team or anything but it is good, though the game may be on the slower start side sadly) Lol XD

Ngl the main reason I kept playing the game was to get my last copy of Eve, and I only kept playing until the 1.5 anniversary and got reinhardt and barton alter. But in terms of drive I wish the game gets better or starts anew with a fantasy rpg, and yes I'll play it since I love the illumina characters so much.

I left Alchemy Stars near the end of the first summer event, not because I fell out of love with the game but cause my phone couldn't support it. I haven't touched the game since but today I'll revisit it even if I don't remember my passwords 😅

The latest update to the game has changed a lot of emphasis the game originally had in regards to having just 1 good team. Now you need a minimum of 4 good teams but it can go up to 8 teams for a certain game mode (anyone who played the game knows a good team isnt just 6 star maxed out units put together but any rank unit that synergize their skills to generate flawless combos, something i have yet to see in other games that simply discard lower rank units as obsolete as soon as you get a full set of random 6 stars). I dont think it has gotten boring, a bit hectic maybe but definitely not boring. The problem is that i occasionally do check out other gatchas that are released time and again and the whole experience comes down to three factors: 1) how taxing the game is on battery life 2) how much control player is allowed in clearing a game. 3) how much the game emphasises pay-2-win mechanic. Gatcha games are an exclusive genre of online phone games. Enjoying a game thus comes at the cost of battery usage. Many gatcha games like the top ranking genshin impact use high quality 3D rendering reminicent of PS2 jrpg games. But not everyone has the same. Specs on the phone which can cause components to wear out faster and use the battery life quickly. Alchemy stars for me sits at that perfect spot in terms of hardware stress and battery drain that any phone can run it with little to no effort. The second issue is "control". Touch screens are very awkward to use compared to keyboard & mouse or even controller pads. In order to alleviate the unweildy nature of touch screens where you can't contact more then 2 points on the screen at any given time, practically all games evolved an automated play mode. Many games don't need players to do anything but watch the screen while an AI plays the game for you. You literally just sit there and watch the AI show the talents of a toddler as it tries to deep-six your game session on purpose, unless you adapt to the AI's blunders and plan what little you can control accordingly. I am not a fan of automated game. There is no point to a game where you are not in control of the situation. Even genshin impact due the troublesome nature of 3d rendering that requires a third touch point to control camera angles (besides movement and action) also utilize automated movement and action where your avatar simply follows a mission map line taking it from one mission location to another while you just sit back and give it advanced instructions or bail it out of an AI blunder that could potentially end your session. Alchemy star lets you control the game, the strategy and even the outcome of a session. It does have an auto system but fans will admit they don't want it if it could be helped. It was so underused that the devs had to force players to use it by integrating it to the resource mission boost items. But they did not press the players further and let players enjoy all other modes of play with full control of team building, strategy and field movements. Infact the games appeal is due to these 3 elements being completely in the players control as it should be, as it has always been before online games became a thing. Lastly, how much of your game is pay to win dependant. This unfortunately is an unavoidable factor in every phone game as the developer studio need an income. But applying it to any game shows to what extent a studio values its player base. From the ugliest and most offensive pay walls equating player's very game ranking to how loose their wallets are in games like diablo resurrection and raid shadow legends to just plain annoying paywalls in small independant games that stunt your game progression behind a premium account requirement or interrupt your gameplay midway to show you 1 minute long ads that dont even apply to you. Alchemy star also has pay walls but they took an approach that i have never seen anyone else take. While alchemy star does use pay walls for items it is for anyone who wants to progress faster and does not bar players from any item that they might need to progress ingame. Even items of the highest rarity that many games reserve for premium users or lock it behind unfair slot machines is attainable for free in alchemy star with a little patience and diligent playing. The only exclusives they lock behind paywalls are unique skins and side stories pertaining to those skins which is basically like the good old days of gaming where their purchase was not necessary for game progression but would give you bragging rights if you did. I have been an avid follower of nerfa me channel as it was among the first to provide guidance on this game that even now has very sparse video guides on youtube even though their new updates recently that have brought new challenges that need guides. I am sad to see nerfa channel is no longer covering this gem of a game anymore but i will continue playing as even compared to many new game releases, this game is the perfect balance of everything you could ever want from a touch screen online game and even genshin impact fails to match its practical and engaging design. Now does anyone know how to defeat that accursed forsaken augean in desolation codex.

The sad truth about Alchemy Stars is that it isn't very profitable.... The game will probably work better as a paid game like Disgaea. It's a real shame as I really love this game

Man i miss this game, the art and the music really good and hit the mark, my heart just melt. But i couldn't say the same about the gameplay, the loop is wasting my time and killing me inside. I feel really sad for all the waifu/husbando that I leave behind, even the new unit and skin are looking great, feels bad but nothing can be done

as a first day player, its an ok game, at best, at least i didnt follow the meta for the first few months and it definitely worsen my account because i can barely clear the content marked as "extra" but figured even if i had, my enjoyment from this game is purely just from an art perspective, a few pulls wont help my gaming experience or the company at all any kind of theorycrafting misses over my head, and any kind of autofarm/grinding gave me brain damage due to how steep it is then i just stopped playing, i still do wish people talk more about it, but there's not enough things to make the game feel more engaging and at that point i also left the community in that regard

I still play every day, but all I do is farm ascension materials, do daily quests and leave. It takes too much to level characters imo, especially with the amount of characters in this game. Your videos helped me out a ton when I started though, so thank you for those and I wish you all the best for whatever the future brings you 😁

The day you get MBT X-converters is the day you turn off brain, even in hard event stages. What's the point in playing with RNG based converting when you can just colour 1/5 of the field with only one character and let your already META team destroy all enemies with all Preemptive strike ? META's frozen since the 6 first months, don't get me wrong, I loved this game but... Hiiro, Migard, Sinsa, Charon, Azure and some others just breeze through anything. Why would I need to pull others then ? Gameplay just becomes... Uhhh "Oh, I have fireflies, what can I do ? *Looks at all A3.80 units* Oh, guess more XP farm" Adding characters is good but some of us want actual characters fleshing, I've been away from the game since Persona Collab but didn't dare to uninstall it. Then after 3 days, I couldn't take it anymore as gameplay was the exact same, no new enemies, no fleshing out, no new good characters. This was the end for me, it really hurt when I pressed the uninstall button but I just couldn't play this game anymore.

Man, I got emotional watching this video. I've been coming back occasionally to the game. I mean AS is such a F2P-friendly gacha game, IMO it's the best F2P game. I got a lot of 6-star characters just by playing this game for the first month and that never happens to me in other gacha games. Maybe I'll be sad if they decided to close the server and I'll never see my lovely character again. Because recently there is a lot of gacha games that I've been shutting down. Yes, the gameplay is good, characters are beautiful, has nice storyline but still cant keep me playing the games. Maybe i'm just bored of something that i dont know what it is. I'm stick with Azur Lane, NIKKE and recently Eversoul for now.
