I disagree w/ no 2. prayers can be so powerful. you probably didn't have the chance to utilize them well

I actually found the Boss at the Snowy Mountains to be rather easy. The regulars enemies there were hard though. I did the Three Faiths Boss (the one with the acsending platform) first. Didn't have any health or fervor upgrades. Took me over an hour but when I beat it it felt awesome. I was ready for the next hard boss. Then the next 2 bosses were pretty light.

The snow area was the last one I checked in search for the 3 bosses and it was still a menace even with all the hours of gameplay I already had at that point. I had tried getting to it earlier in the game and quickly noticed that it was too difficult, so I turned back and went a different way

Lady of the charred visage was my first tough boss and then i wondered why the other ones werent as hard 😭

Telling players to totally disregard Prayers is wildly bad advice.

4years later and i can say i did beat the winter arena first and was 1vs1 the Boss for 2h dealing no dmg and actually beat him

i see that many of us started in the hard boss, but i dont regret it, actually i enjoyed doing the hard work first

Did the game change that much since release? Prayers have either been clutching me through difficult spots, or nicely added as utility to trivialize boss fights (F you Isidora...Kidding, l love you). Not to mention how much stronger and lasting they get with the proper Heart and beads equipped

It happened to me as well, I went to the Lady of the Carriage Visage first and cost me that much, that afterwards the other two first bosses seemed like nothing in comparison

you say you read the descriptions of the beads but it doesnt tell you what theyre for? literally the last sentence of each one says what effect it has...

Most of the things you mentioned are why I decided to give Blasphemous a go, and regarding your final piece of advice, following that advice will (temporarily) lock you out of an area due to "failing" a side quest. To me, you taking on that mountain and overcoming the boss sounds like quite the accomplishment - pretty sure you felt like royalty after that. I'll also say that those effing spikes suck. Miriam's questline has taught me to sincerely hate them.

I wish I knew that prayers existed before encountering Isidora. I wanted to beat her not for the third ending. I also even didn't even knew that there are different endings in this game. At that moment I killed all of the bosses except Isidora, Crisanta, that easy final boss and that snake dude. Yep, I killed them all without magic. Moreover, I haven't completed any of the quests. So Isidora made me learn what button activates the prayer, she made me upgrade my healing bottles to max and to upgrade Mea Culpa to the final 7th level, which means to complete at least three quests to reach that 7th level... And yep, I killed her. Then I went to other three bosses and absolutely destroyed them all. At the first try of beating the final boss I was sooooo disappointed... I made him kill me (≈80% health) while he had almost 5% of his health bar. That's only because I wanted the second (good) ending and at that moment I haven't completed all of those stupid statue challenges. I thought that the final boss would be much harder and decided to try beating him only out of curiosity... Well, now I'm trying to get 95% => 100%. Wish me good luck and patience!

tbh the first dark souls game was a metroidvania itself

It's funny how i went to Snowy Mountain after going to other locations. you may ask why? The only reason is "by accident" i just got lost when exploring the game and didn't pay attention to what he said about places😂

I find Jondo first by accidently opening that invisible door in albero. This was my first metroidvania/souls game and I still had the curiosity of if there were invisible walls in the game 😂

The prayers are so over powered in a lot of situations. Especially with that bead that makes them stronger. A couple of the spells completely trivialized, what would have other wise been very tough enemies and bosses.

These tips make you sound like you have never played a metroidvania before...

My first run I ended up using a prayer build with only the lighting and very first prayer you get and just putting on all the beads that buff the prayers. Absolutely melted bosses, you just have to know when to pop them and how to use the environment and spacing to your advantage. If you can get it to hit more than once you’re golden.

As much as I loved this game, am I the only one that thought the explanation to unlock the real ending was very convoluted? With how hard the game is,I was rushing forward as much as possible and in the end I found myself finishing the game without unlocking half the stuff and when I read what I had to do to finish the game properly I thought "no way".

I’m playing through this now. Loving it so far. Finally just beat the bro/sis duo on the bridge and progressed the story. Just got a lot harder. I did the charred visage first. It was a bit of a challenge but I think it got me ready for the rest of the map before moving passed the bridge.

Blasphemous is by far my favorite metroidvania, i love everything and the music is so beatiful. I love the two titles each one by itself, it's so beatiful and perfect
