Sisi, if we say God is consistent, unchanging and dependable God would not choose for some and not others. That would make the concept of the nature of God being Perfect completely false. God never imposes anything on anyone, if God did than why do we have to choose Salvation and it not be automatic? God gives guidance through our intuition (aka Holy Spirit) but the choice is always ours whether we realise it consciously or not. Think about that for a moment🙏🏽

Quran 5:116 And ˹on Judgment Day˺ Allah will say, “O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you ever ask the people to worship you and your mother as gods besides Allah?” He will answer, “Glory be to You! How could I ever say what I had no right to say? If I had said such a thing, you would have certainly known it. You know what is ˹hidden˺ within me, but I do not know what is within You. Indeed, You ˹alone˺ are the Knower of all unseen. Quran 4:157 And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allāh." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Quran 2:136 Say, ˹O believers,˺ “We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; and what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.”

There is a lot that can be said about all the points you mention which I definitely agree with you on. Christianity has its challenging aspects which we need to let go of however there are a lot of positives that we can appreciate the Christian view for and help ourselves understand our evolving idea of what God is even with its limitations. It doesn't have to be literal truth, we do not have to "believe" and we can continue to question while also finding deep meaning for our lives through Christianity...

You're very welcome! It's in the struggle and feeling the discomfort and resistance towards doing it and doing it anyway that you get to understand yourself alot more. The struggle helps you become aware of how you self sabotage and you find ways to not fight yourself but work with yourself towards the goal! Be gentle with yourself but also hold yourself accountable, it's a very delicate balance that each of us have to learn. All the best with your assignment 🙏🏽

It has been quite a journey, filled with struggles. I even transitioned from Christianity to Islam initially, due to my concerns about the Trinity and the alterations in the Bible. At first, I believed it was the right path for me, but it didn't turn out as I expected. The version of Islam I encountered wasn't the one I had envisioned for myself. When I left Christianity for Islam, my Christian friends and family remained supportive. However, when I eventually decided to embrace a life free from religious constraints, I lost many of my Muslim friends. One of them even went so far as to say that, had I been in a Muslim-majority country, I might have faced dire consequences for leaving Islam. I heard stories of Islamic countries punishing apostates, but I was initially skeptical, thinking that these accounts were meant to intimidate me. During my time as a Muslim, I started missing my Christian life. I longed to address God as my Father and participate in all-night prayer sessions and Christian festivals, experiences that felt closer to me during my Christian years. As a Christian, I felt like I was part of God's family, while as a Muslim, I felt more like a servant of Allah. Additionally, I began to see imperfections in the Quran, which I had previously considered flawless. After I made the decision to leave Islam, my longing to return to Christianity intensified. My life took a difficult turn, and I realized that the stories of people finding greater happiness after leaving Christianity didn't fully apply to me. When I compare my life now to my Christian years, I must admit that I had a fulfilling life as a Christian. The pursuit of truth brought a considerable emotional burden. In May of this year, I accompanied my friends to a Christian all-night event. I told myself to put aside my reservations and just focus on worship. The experience was incredibly uplifting, and it led me to return to Christianity after a five-year absence. The presence of the Holy Spirit is undoubtedly real, not just because I've read about it in a book but because I felt His presence after a long five-year journey. Although there are moments when I still have doubts about certain aspects of the Bible, I'm determined to focus on God and the Holy Spirit. The reality of the Holy Spirit's presence is undeniable. Even though I have embraced Christianity once more, I want to emphasize that I respect everyone's religious choices and do not judge or condemn anyone based on their beliefs.

EJ, first of all I'd like to give my heartfelt appreciation to you for taking the time to share with me such an intimate journey you've had so far in your spirituality. I commend you for questioning... A lot of us stagnate in our spiritual growth not because we don't have questions but because we get comfortable in what we think we know as facts, that being with those questions without trying to come to some final conclusion feels like a death of who we are. Don't take your converting to Islam and than back to Christianity as a mistake but a very big growth point in understanding yourself and the God of your understanding "all things work out for good for those who love God". I interpret the word "love" here to mean those who desire to know God intimately....and that is what I am reading between the lines and seeing as your driving force EJ. I also commend you for having the self trust and willingness to see when a choice you've made doesn't make sense to you anymore, not a lot of people have the guts to admit that and make a different choice🙌 One thing I'm learning as I grow spiritually is that the questions are key to us having a deeper realization of God in our lives personally in direct experience and not from the second hand opinions of others. I left my mainstream Christian church I was a very active part of 3 years ago and decided to learn the Bible, pray on script, meditate on it and learn from biblical scholars online on my own because I could see that the interpretations the leaders of the church had were theirs, they didn't understand the bible in depth and most of the time they impressed their opinions as God's word and Jesus's teachings to suit their manipulative, fear mongering ways. It was the best decision I could have made. Don't get me wrong, community is a powerful part of spiritual growth that every person must immerse themselves into as part of an intentional path to God however ultimately "every man must workout their own salvation" meaning the bible, the teaching of Jesus are pointers to an Absolute Truth that each of us have to discover on our own if we are but willing to persistently "keep on knocking" (questioning) for the door of Absolute Truth to open🙏🏽

    1. Agree with Omega - being in a third world country does limit what you can achieve financially because of how the system is set up. 2. An adult should know that day to day living is mundane. I feel like these are superficial, a sign that there's immaturity in how we approach relationships - expecting men to be rich, expecting women to look a certain way, expecting day to day life to be an extravaganza... There's a lot of healing and growing up to do.
