It's all about skating!
Got back into skating in 2021 after a 10 year hiatus from a knee injury. My skating is somewhat limited from some old injuries, but these old injuries allow me to push myself in a different way now.
The goal of my channel is to make inline skating related content. This content includes videos of unboxing products I’m interested in, giving initial impressions, giving honest unbiased reviews of products that I review after breaking in and skating for a while and pay for with my own money, capture my new progress skating, challenges, and checking out new skate parks, all while enjoying what I love - rollerblading!

S3:E1 Birthday Session - Goodbye 39! Hello 40!
I appreciate you posting your age. You are showing ppl that you still got it into your 40s. I’m right around the corner myself.
Happy Birthday Jordan.
Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
Six months on, how do you still rate them.
Nice review and some good skating 👍
Super helpful video, definitely seems like you could use this bag on it's own for a shorter trip
Nice one Wyo, hope all is well man
looks fun
for the shock absorbers look into the fp insoles give em a try
I second this! Once I tried these I put them in all my skates. They are definitely keeping my knees from becoming handicapped 😂 I’ve tried the heat moldable game changers and the ones with the standard arch support and I think I prefer the non heat moldable ones, but both types are great for shock absorption
@@c6moneypit8thanks it was just a thought glad you tried em. I just ordered twister xt and fp insoles and hope to ride again
please add the gear your using ive been looking and wanting to get back into skating
In this video I am riding the echo verve skates with stock frames and liners and Cymatics wheels. For pads I have Rook gloves, Gform elbow and knee pads, Triple 8 Bumsaver II crashshorts, and the S1 lifer helmet.
@@Jordan.Skates thanks for listing everything
HI Jordan. I am looking to purchase my 1st pair of skates mostly for city skating, trail skating fitness oriented. In $250-$350 range, what would be your top 3 brand and model recommendations, wheel sizes? Thank you
I think the FR1 Deluxe with Intuition and Rollerblade lightnings have been great. I have not ridden any other brands. For the FR you can measure your foot and see what it matches best for shell length as that would determine if the FR liner or intuition liner may be better for you. the FR liner would put the FR1 in your price point. I would say 90mm wheels is really the sweet spot for trail skating if you want a 4 wheel set up. I like the endless frames because i can switch between 90 and 110 mm depending on what i am skating.
@@Jordan.Skates Thank you. Appreciate your quick response and feedback.
is this the thorton location ?
Yes it is! First time there and was a pretty fun little park
Great video, how did you go with the shock absorbtion changes, the wood would be a lot more forgiving than the concrete, but it looked like you were lacing those tricks.
Switching to the intuition shock absorber and standard omni insole was a game changer for these skates. They are feeling good. Cuff is a little stiffer still for some topsides and hoping that breaks in more.
Dude this place is wicked, I am thinking of starting my own indoor skate park, and just figuring out how much it would cost and all that. I know most indoor skate parks fail, so it would definitely be risky, and it's why this place is very diverse with things you can do. I'll figure out something. Just seeing indoor parks get me hyped and keep planning it. Good Video!
The biggest thing with indoor parks is bringing in enough revenue to stay a float. Big warehouses are expensive with utilities. This place has classes, restaurant, and rentals for a variety of sports in a ski popular area so definitely need some diversity to make it successful. We just had an indoor parks close down so it’s a hard business and most skaters are not good entrepreneurs.
I have the same thought swirling in the back of my mind. The closest indoor park to me is about 1.5 hours away and isn't nearly as huge as this one. Cost and customers are a huge unknown so might just have to "settle" for a small mini in the garage. Either way I'd still have to win a small fortune in the lottery
@@MichaelMarcos For sure, the way I plan on doing it is hosting monthly tournaments bigger ones to get the attention of bladers, bmxer, and scooters only because those markets need to expand. Skateboarding is good, but that market is already too expensive/saturated due to Olympics, Xgames and such. It'll be tied to a extreme sports themed restaurant, and there will be coffee/shakes/slushies etc. It'll have a huge indoor park, plus outdoor park. I already have the land and building, just would have to build the park indoor/outdoor. Another thing on the same property, there will be a hotel, not only for the skatepark, but because my town is expanding and only has one hotel in town, have to drive to the bigger city over and town over for hotel. Even though we're a town that has about 30k people, the layout of the town is quite sad. I would definitely be losing so much money for the first several years for doing the skate park, but I honestly think it would be worth it. Potentially, seeing inline and other extreme sports grow at least in my area, would definitely be part of the dream. The hotel will come first, and then the restaurant and park would open close at the same time. I definitely will reach out to THEM, OMI or any other skate companies that would want to sponsor it or do something. I'm 31 now, but for this to happen it'll probably be around late 30's early 40's. To make it as perfect as I want it. Plus all the legal things and such.
Will this bag be part of your carry-on? Are you allowed have helmets strapped to outside in the overhead compartment? I've never traveled with skates before so not sure how it works.
That’s the plan is to carry on and probably just have pads and clothes in suitcase. I want the big bag to take all my gear around when i am there for skating. Most airlines don’t care about a strapped helmet as long as it fits in the overhead, and size of overhead and carry on can vary by airline. I’ve traveled with skates and no issues. I have heard airlines crack down on attached aluminum frames because they consider them a weapon.
Which size are you wearing? Thank you :)
These were the 42-43
Great review thx !! Love your technical style of reviewing stuff 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Appreciate your support!
thanks for showing it loaded up. I also have the Murdah Militia bag and have the same issue with the zippers fraying/straps after a couple years. imo nothing beats the quality of the Eisenbergs Skatepark backpacks with the padded skate holsters on the sides, especially the zippers. no idea why no one else has even come close to the quality, it just doesn't make sense. hopefully this Kizer bag is similar materials.
I never got to try the Eisenburgs. I know MM is working on a new bag so curious to see if the stitching issues get fixed. The old style 50/50 bag was padded with skates on the size and has held up for my weekend bag where I don’t need to bring as much. Thanks for watching!
best inline review channel on youtube and its not even close
Thanks for the support!
The Kizer bag is nice. Can you do a short video on the senate bag?
Anything you are looking to know with the senate bag?
Thanks really helpful information
Glad you found it useful!
This was cool man, I've been using mine for a couple months and they're the first new skates I've bought and first anti rocker so it's been quite a learning curve from the aeons. I am noticing i get a pressure point on the inside where cuff and boot meet at the top of the laces, haven't quite figured out what to do about it yet, or if one of my feet is a slightly different shape. This video made me curious what some of your ideal skate set ups are, and also have you tried riding these flat?
how tight are you making the cuff? have you tried lacing up the skate and liner with one lace and leaving the cuff a little looser for flex? ikve skated a bunch of flat feames on factions/blanks/ag15s but still trying to dial in verves before changing out frames. my favorite anti rocker frame so far is the fluid 4 and a big fan of the oysi flat frames
have you been to beehive skate shop?
I've stopped by a few times and always look at their inventory online first when i need something. I live in the golden/arvada area and don't make it downtown much.
Awesom review man as always
much appreciated! thanks for watching
Great review as always! Happy new year! 🎉
thanks for watching!
Witch size of grindwheels you swappt in?
Think I was using the Dead anti rockers (45mm 100a)
Great review!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome review as always! Your skating is great too! Maybe try some of the phlebo buffers to help with the shock absorption. All the best for 2025! Keep smashing it 🔥🔥🔥
I have a pair of phlebos laying around. I am swapping the insole and shock absorber and will see if that makes more improvements first. Hope you have a happy new year as well and thank for watching!
How do you compare nomad to stock liners of your rb lightning? I have lightning 80 with stock liners and I'm considering change to nomad or intuition to reduce the volume and increase support of the liner.
The nomad is thinner than the stock liner so took a bit of playing around with the memory buckles to get it fitted right.
@@Jordan.Skates and how about the support against forward flex? I have quite a lot of movement in my ankles, so this is very important for me.
@@mikoajjanczak5605 I feel like the nomads can lace tighter to help reduce forward flex.
@@Jordan.Skates Good news. Thank you for the answers and for being fast answering.
6:12 Simple solution to shell getting too big over time: Once it stretched get yourself a nice set of $35 (on sale) VALSOLE Heavy Duty Support Pain Relief orthotics off (the company named after a rain forest in Brazil). Cheaper and better for your feet too than going with Intuition liner.
I've looked at those insoles. Part of the issue is that the skate is way too wide and there appears to be quite a bit of volume needing filled.
thanks for the review. In my RB and Lightning Skates I glued a USD shock absorber onto the existing shock absorber. It works very well. But yes, a removable shock absorber on the liner would be cool. Like it is done on the MyFit crown liner, for example.
agreed!
The backside at 10:23 has me literally ordering a pair right now.
awesome!
bro where have you been all my life. we need more of this
Much appreciated!
I appreciate that you do your reviews after skating them for a good period of time.
Thanks! That was the main reason I started my channel because i felt full reviews after a couple of sessions didn't cut it since we all know the feel of a skate changes over time.
AFAIK yellow Intuiition doesn't have antibacterial coating, maybe the Primes does
Correct - intuitions get very smelly over time
Have you guys ever stopped to consider that maybe you shouldn’t be trying to fit your foot into the smallest size possible and instead opt for a size that’s going to give your foot a little room to breathe? “Downsizing” is not healthy for your feet and it doesn’t improve the responsiveness of your skate THAT much
So I normally don't try to downsize and tend to want to ride a skate stock and size it stock based on my foot length. Per Standard sizing, my foot really falls between shell sizes (slightly too big for medium and too small for large). I reached out to law to talk to him about it because I had concerns that the large would be too big since my foot was at the very bottom of the size chart. He indicated that the medium would be the best size for me and should work if I use the additional shock absorber. In turn, the shell felt decent length and width wise which was consistent with what Law told me, it was just the pressure points around the ankle and some pressure at the top of the toe box, which was a common issue with the V1. It was a lot of effort to try and make them work. My goal is to try out the Large V2 at winterclash before trying them again to see how the large actually fit. I appreciate the insight and agree that we should not be cramming into smaller shell sizes to make somethin work.
i couldnt run 60mm on the middle wheels cause even with the flat bolts the wheels craps. had to use 58mm
yo for skate liner smell, wash with room temp water and antibacterial soap, let them air dry then put "Odor control foot powder" in side (you can get it from walgreens. it will keep down on smell and feet sweat)
I’m having the same issue with my ankle :\
Supposedly the issue is fixed with V2 but I am holding off until I hear more about the new versions.
I love your very in depth detailed review of these skates, especially relating to how these fit. You just got yourself a new subscriber - keep up the good work!
Really appreciate the kind words!
So I'm fairly certain I know why your wheels were rubbing on the frame bolts. It might seem unintuitive but it is most likely because you are using the frame bolts that came with the frame. I had a similar issue and when I looked at the frame bolts you can see there is a small bevel/ridge at the base of the threading on the bolts. This makes it so the bolt does not actually fully recess into the frame as it should. I have no idea why they include bolts that don't actually work with the frames but you'll notice if you try and place the bolt into the frame while it is not attached to your skate the bolt will wiggle around a bit rather than sitting flatly in the frame. You want to find a flanged button head socket cap bolt which will work with this Oysi frame as well others. Hope this helps and here's an Amazon link to the bolt kit I used for these frames www.amazon.com/dp/B07RGC14RZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 I went for the 10-25mm kit(generally a good kit to have).
that was a long ass ao soul! props brother
Thanks!
Where is that coping ledge? Which Skatepark is this?
it's at the Turnberry park in Commerce City, CO
Have you ridden the TNECs? Wonder how these two compare once broken in
I rode the TNEC's frame and skate for a little bit. I had the standalone frame that was rockered and it was fine for ledges but hated skating park with it. I thought the hblock was similar with locking in but needed way more breaking in. FR felt better out of the box. The frame on the skate felt better but the skate hurt my knees due to lack of good shock absorbers
this frame is for people who enjoy anti rocker.period.i have a pair. they grind really well but i prefer flat so im prolly gonna sell em
Agreed. Excellent frame
@@Jordan.Skates forsure brother! tbh i would call it the best anti rocker frame, hands down.
but if were talking best flat frame id have to say featherlite 4s which surprises sum people but then they skate it and singing a different tune. the fr oysi frames is a gem to
@@Jordan.Skates have you tried the AG60? that frame looks tight. same with the diridaris. i had a pair of the 50/50 balance twos they slide super good but not a big enough split for skatin 60mm. so i figure the 50.50 primes would be perfect. hahahaha mane i could talk frames all day lmfao
Very informative thank you, any grinds you didn't like or feel comfortable doing on those frames?
Once the hblocks broke in everything felt solid. I didn’t feel that the hblock was tall or that it was hard to get boot down
@Jordan.Skates thanks for the feedback
Best flat frame ever!!! You killed it in em. Definitely run round or bullet 60s... squares, some fit,.some might not. The grinding sound and feel on these 🤘
Thanks! They really are great frames
What a lovely backdrop. The leaves are beautiful.
I’m surprised my trees still look like this! I was also impressed when editing
As always, excellent review! I’m very keen to try these out. Currently using iqon AG60 with 88a wheels as the local skatepark is very slippery but I’m experiencing some wheel bite on ledges. I’m hoping the FR frames will offer better wheel bite protection.
Try 58mm and under I got wheel bite with 60 58 works fine
The FR have more bite protection but you can got with a little smaller wheels which can help reduce any bite
Good luck finding them sold out all over the world
I’ve heard they are getting restocked soon.
@@Jordan.Skates yayyyyy
