GE Power Returns to the Surfliner! 9/7-9/12/24
Surfliner’s Siemens SC44 chargers have recently been quite unreliable, which called for some older GE power to be sent out in place of the chargers as they were being repaired.

Santa Barbara sub got some good action this week. I did miss a few things but overall caught the best of it, including a strange BNSF unit that made it onto the hauler powerset. I went out pretty late to see a very late Amtrak 794 with a locomotive from the Coast Starlight, they had broken down in San Luis Obispo and needed to borrow some power. Coast gave me some suprises the day before my 15th birthday. The Baretable train was no surprise as there were 2 before it and that train in particular had been on the coast for 4 days. Glad ya got 852 and 868. Yeah I knew about 868 on 117 for awhile. It was 119 the day before, so I was thinking back on what you told me about rotations and went out. 868 on 119 was a what the hell moment, and I chased it on my bike from one end of the siding to another but I didn’t include the clip from Spring Rd.
