thanks for the suggestion. To be honest, I never tried using spikes. I guess I prefer hitting predators rather than fixing a wall with spikes. Where is excitement in that? 😝

I probably would've cleared the jaguars before they destroyed the East wall (at 4:50) if I had the shotgun back pack on me. In this run I went with the Survival Backpack for the +5% movement speed since I found myself doing a lot of running around to track down stuck animals.

@Hellfire4WD thanks for the feedback! For ammo types, I've been sticking with standard slugs but I'm curious to try your dual-ammo approach. What's your preferred secondary ammo type that you've found effective? Regarding the base design, I tried a larger pyramid structure with a concrete core (ua-cam.com/video/Tg4jI_76q3M/v-deo.htmlsi=ChYdlMM8olj0fXt9&t=2930) but found it to be an overkill. Your ramp-diamond setup sounds interesting. Can you share a video?

Also, pro tip when dealing with bears, just move sideways. They always run at you in a straight line

@amdsam1 That's exactly my tactics, except sometime trees and rocks can get in the way so I prefer to run at a roughly 45% angle to see where I'm going 😊

@michaelting1496 mine do :) I'm not 100% certain, but it seems that all tamed creatures plus other players if you do co-op, get shared XP regardless of their location on the map. I actually tried the floors with manholes in the past, but I kept having the same issue - just ended up shooting at the floor like I'm doing here in my other video :) ua-cam.com/video/prRxUXfAQmE/v-deo.html

Thanks @allannielsen4752! I tried using the beams (as shown here: ua-cam.com/video/prUhJ85r5xo/v-deo.html) and unfortunately they don't prevent bears from climbing up. The Vapor Condenser unlocks at level 30, so at the point where you can craft composites, you'll likely be level 35-40 anyway. You can still achieve this with stone pieces and a rifle - it's just more challenging! Hope this helps with your build!

I honestly appreciate it for one reason- I was able to see how deliberately tiresome and tedious this game is and issue a refund while I was still in the 2 hour window.

You're right about SIMPL3 missions giving XP, but they're often time-consuming compared to other methods. For instance: - A hard SIMPL3 mission gives 15,000 XP - Killing and skinning 4 wolves yields about 14,000 XP (no buffs) The drone mission is actually great for XP farming: 1. It spawns wolves and higher-tier animals 2. You can redo it immediately if you fail (drone destroyed or timer runs out) My strategy: Start the drone mission late, kill animals, and let the timer run out so the mission fails. This way, you get XP from kills and can repeat the mission. Even if you forget about the drone entirely, it's fine - the mission will reappear in your CONT4CT Device.

@@DeepDiveGames Very true. Some people are afraid of the wolves and go to great measures to avoid them - you are abviously not one of them. Standing in the entrance to an arctic biome and massacre snow wolves and snow leopards can be very good for xp. Avoiding a polar bear biome makes life a little easier...

Have you tried another factory? Most of them should have at least one. Share a video of your flythrough.

That's definitely an option, but it requires to spend a tech point to unlock. I prefer to save most of the early points on the items in tiers 3 and 4. Eventually there are enough tech points to unlock everything, but I usually unlock nice to haves in T1 & T2 last.

@@DeepDiveGames I understand your point but you never run out of tech points, when you reach lvl 60 you continue to get tech points for as long as you play this character or senario :)

You are right, eventually there are enough tech points to unlock everything, but that takes time. My preference is to unlock most of the tech items in tiers 3 and 4 by the time I reach level 35 as that will have a greater impact on my experience in the open world mode. You'll see it in my next two videos :)

@@DeepDiveGames I look forward to it although with that system I am usually well into electrics by lvl 32 as I work the bare bones of lvl 1 then again the bare bones of lvl 2 and normally go into lvl 3 with a spare 12 to 15 points which i then only use at lvl 3 for the first of anything good, I can then arrive at lvl 4 with about 10 to 12 points for the really good stuff. it does make a bit of a drag out of lvl 1 and 2 but pays off when you get the good pew pew's early at lvl 4 :)

Here are a couple of things to check (image for reference ibb.co/hgVB8Xk ): 1. Check that you have a purple halo around your cockpit. The purple halo indicates the scanner mode is enabled. If you see another color, then a wrong mode is enabled. 2. The sound wave indicator (only works in scanner mode) will be a flat line of dots unless there is a leak near by. If it larger on one side, that is the direction to turn towards to. Do you have a video of your fly through that you can share?
