Johnny was really happy with the sound, mix, and performance on this one. He asked me to print a special drums-only mix. He played this to a click track and did it by memory as none of the other parts had been cut yet. We had to do things ass-backwards so the echos would sync to the tempo of the song. Today... ya' just click a mouse.
This is awesome!!!! To those of us who grew up in this precious town--wonderful memories. Wish we could turn back the hands of time.
This is awesome. I am too young to remember any of this, but my other family will love it!
Rosita is so cool. She's so good at guitars 😊
Thank you for the WONDERFUL video! Did he shoot a part 2?

As a member of the Northrop Big Orange Pride this year, it was gonna be you, Chesterton (who we beat AT Chesterton) or us. What an end to state finals in Terre Haute.
Takes me back to good memories. Thank you. :)
That one down vote is Ben Gay...I'm sure of it. ;)

Wow! A true blast from the past. I remember watching your band flood the field, marching in with that awesome cadence. A cadence we(redacted) tried to steal and use as our own.
What'd they place?
This is the prelims performance. I'm not sure. Overall, we placed 7th in finals, and drums won.

my home I miss it word up
My sister, my classmates and I were all in this parade on bicycles we'd decorated with crepe paper. The centennial was a HUGE deal in town. The celebration went on for at least a week. My father was on the town police force they were all required to grow beards for the occasion . School children and teachers wore clothing to school as if it were a hundred years earlier. My mother made costumes for my sister and me and our two best friends. I believe if a man was caught in town without a beard and an excuse not to have one they were tarred and feathered (really just karo syrup and pillow feathers). The entire town was involved and participated in dressing up for the event not just the people in the parade. There were centennial parties. There was a special addition of the town newspaper with a lot of information about the history of the town. I was ten years old in 1967, my sister was 9, we will never forget Rocky Mount's Centennial. It was a wonderful little town when we lived there. The citizen's love for and pride in their town was evident during those days. My father's family helped found the town and my father was born and raised there. It is a shame what has happened to this once proud Mayberryeske town.
Scott, Thank you for posting this video. I was in the parade when I was 6 years old. I'm on the KFC float with the REAL Colonel Harland Sander. I'm the little one with short dark hair. We only have 1 or 2 pictures of that day. Now we can see it here. This is great!!
LOVE this!!!
just listening makes me feel better. thank you so much!
I could listen to this guy play all day. :)
