I wrote this piece in high school and later recorded it in college. Although this video is nearly 10 years old, it is still so dear to me and I wanted to share it. Special thanks to Dylan Buser for filming and editing every bit of this. Hope you enjoy! ALSO: I feel like I have to say this as a piano teacher - this is an older video and there are some technique issues. But we learn and we grow!

    I am here 3 years too late but started my Invisalign journey like 1 month ago and it has been a ride.. can relate to you so much, the first 4 days I was regretting everything and complaining, it got so much better now and I can’t wait for the results.

    I start my journey next week and I’m so nervous about how I’ll cope with the aligners, pain etc. i get a really dry mouth anyway from the meditation I’m on and I’ve chewed gum for years to help that I was wondering if it’s safe to have a little mint with xylitol in my mouth to replace the gum. I wouldn’t chew it just have it at the side of my cheek😊 I’m excited but really worried at the same time. Your teeth look amazing😍❤️

    Hello, thank you so much for sharing your journey. I am happy for you, you are very beautiful! I wanted to ask you something, if you could give some feedback on that. Did you notice your face shape or your lips change along the process? My biggest concern is experiencing unforeseen changes, like a hollowed face or smaller lips, and that I could like my teeth better but not the general look of my face that could change along. Also, I used to like my imperfect front teeth as they looked unique, but now I feel they're moving too much, so I'm a bit annoyed by that. Were you scared of not recognizing yourself and lose your uniqueness at the end of the process? These are my biggest concerns, as I'm just scared I will not look as myself anymore and that I could standardize my face (that applies to my fear, it's not a judgement on your choice that I totally respect and value, you look great as I said and you look luminously happy!)

    Thank you so much. My bottom teeth are a mess and I have buttons on basically everything, top and bottom, almost all the way to the back. My ortho said to go from one side but your technique works so much better. Just went for a test run and it only took me about 10/15 seconds with your method, whereas every other time so far it's taken about five minute (with lots of huffing!). THANK YOU!!

    I'm on day 6 of my 20 week treatment. I struggled a lot to get the trays out on the first day. Then I found your video. I have attachments on almost all of my front teeth both top and bottom. It was a struggle and was painful as well. The trick for the top ones doesn't really work for me, two of my top incisors are quite stubborn. BUT, the pulling method for the botttom teeth made it SO much easier. Thanks a LOT!!!

    • @keerthanavarma6933
      @keerthanavarma6933 Місяць тому

      @@cinnamorollLFJPM yeah kind of.. I pull the aligners out from my molars on both sides. It is the lateral incisors that I have trouble with. So I use my right thumb to pull the right side of the removed part of the aligner towards my cheek and hook the orthokey or my left index finger on the backside of the tooth and pull down on the aligner. this seems to pop it off. if it is still on my left incisor I can just pull it down with no effort. Every set is slightly different. A method that worked for one set might not work as well for the next. so it is basically a trail and error for me every wednesday morning cuz I put on a new set on tuesday nights.

    Glad I saw this. I'm only 4 weeks in... it's all so fiddly, tbh I regret not going for clear braces - I work a very senior corporate job, have severe ADHD, and don't get to stop for meals at work, and I have low appetite issues already - I *don't* want to lose weight, and if I were to stick to these rules it would cause me bigger problems. I'm a slow eater and can't shovel in 3 meals a day. I have to find a way that's practical, like you have. Proper brush at start and end of day. My guess is that Invisalign gives these rules to cover themselves legally. I trust myself to know when it's OK to bend them. Thanks for validation!

    This was very insightful Jess! I think it’s unfortunate that now that people are more on board with “traditional” living it’s also a time where it’s much harder to raise a family/support yourselves on 1 income. However, I’m thankful to live in a time where being a stay at home wife/mom or being a working woman are both seen as valid options, since this has not been the case through most of history and women in the past couldn’t even make that decision for themselves.

    • @JessLotte

      Thank you! 🥹 I could not agree more. I’m grateful for our ability to pursue paths we truly desire when it wasn’t that simple for women generations ago. Hopefully we see that within our lifetime 😊

I have a total of 48 trays for THE FIRST ROUND, with an oral surgery next month, and possible jaw surgery after through all 48 trays if that seems needed at that point... Hi Jess, I am not a traditional housewife myself. I am married and we both work. We both take care of the children and do the housework together. I think it is important to be independent as a woman. As women, we have also fought to be equal with men. That doesn't mean I look like a man or think like a man. I still enjoy dressing and behaving like a woman. This works well for us. We must not forget that women have fought for this for a long time. We are happy this way. And everyone has to do what feels right. Thank you for this interesting video.

    I think the trad wives should be allowed to do whatever they want to do. That is feminism. However when you start assigning moral value to it is when it gets murky. On the left side of the aisle most of us just want everyone to be able to live the life they want to live. Most of the trad wife’s I’ve watched are actively encouraging you to live like them and if you don’t want to, you’re somehow failed morally.

    It's helpful to remember that for the vast majority of human history, women of status and wealth had the privilege of not having to work. Having to work was seen as a lower-class necessity, as domestic servants did most of the housework for the upper classes. For a brief period of time (circa mid-twentieth century), Western society became wealthy and productive enough to allow a socioeconomic family model resembling what had traditionally been possible only for the aristocracy. It's not all so cut and dried, but the "traditional" family model was better suited for preventing burnout for both mother and fathers. The mothers could focus on the children and the home (enormous tasks) without having to worry about the income. The father could toil away for endless hours and the only thing preventing burnout was knowing he had a loving family to support and come home to after a long day at work.

    I found most tradwifes have an inheritance, or own the house, or getting help from parents that enable them to stay home. Most are not fully relying on husbands for their support, but they'll go online and lie telling everyone that their husband is supporting them . Forgetting some of us know them in real life outside facebook, and know they're full of bs. Most tradwives are smug and seem to think they're superior to women who have to work for a living, and sometimes take sadistic joy in rubbing it in that they don't have to work, and have a "good" man to support them, when you KNOW dam well they have an inheritance that's allowing them their trad life.
