Looks interesting, how ever for the price i wold at least expect to be power not manually operated. At the end of the day this is not the only product that offers this type of solution, for hundreds of $ less🤷‍♂️

Finding customers who have been looking for a better solution, yes. Getting great user feedback. Building life long friends along the way. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I agree with the KISS principle...for user experience. Simple to raise and lower the wheels. No lubrication needed, even in salt water, unlike the competition. No needing to get out and lift up the side of the kayak to insert or remove the wheel on each side. That sounds complicated. Make it easy for the user -- they will appreciate it.

@ I was referring to the number of moving parts in regards to the K.I.S.S principle. More pieces always equates to higher percentage of failure, every time.

Yes, we have over 15 mounting groups and various leg sweeps to fit most kayaks. Shearwater - no problem. Wilderness Recon 120 will take a new mount to engage with the narrow tapered gunwale. At last count, we have fit up and sold to over different 30 kayak designs.

I called Nucanoe support. The Unlimited version would work best. There is 2” from rails to top of gunwale on the F10. The Unlimited version comes with a 2” lift kit in the mount. -David

Sounds like an interesting approach.

My second customer used a scupper cart on his PA 12. He injured his shoulder rotating kayak to pull out wheels. Now he has 18 months of easy Launches with the Freedom Launcher. It was a no brainer for him.

There are definitely choices out there that cost less. No question about that. We exist to offer a different experience for those who want it.

If the cart is working for you, that’s great!

Landing gear is way better than a cart for some people. Love these. Added mine a year ago. Totally eliminated the need to pick up the kayak and get it on the cart. You don’t have to pick it up like in this video. That’s just an example of how smoothly they drop down. You generally drop them down in the water before getting out.

Some of my buddies say they either want to haul in the back of their pickup or the ramps are really busy on weekends… so they want to use kayak wheels of some sort. What part of Australia are you from? I’ve been able to visit for work (previous job)… absolutely loved it!

I wish I could have stayed longer but it was a whirlwind trip. I'm getting ready to ship product to a PA 14 customer today. And yep, he shared a pic of his ride on a trailer... but he still wants other wheels. Everybody has their own game!

Ron, thanks for the suggestion. Actually, I made these as a prototype for a couple of buddies who load into the back of their pickups. Lowering on this trailer may help. Except for the mudflats.

Glad to hear it, mate! Some rams get very busy on the weekends here in the states so people prefer to put in in other ways. This device was actually requested by a PA 14 customer! Things change after back surgery!

Hi, thanks for looking at the video and giving a great comment! I noticed the shakes as well as I was recording. The Railblaza wheel has almost zero shock absorbing qualities and the frame is rigid, but there is necessary play in the locking pin. This particular ramp seemed to put the frame in resonance with the strong grooved surface every 1.5" or so. I haven't found that effect on other ramps. I should try the same launch with the balloon tires... they really absorb the road noise much better. Fortunately, we are approaching 1,000 launches across the entire fleet and the system is holding up really well!! Even on Hobie PA 14 or a 15' squareback canoe loaded up to #230 lb. So far we have configurations installed on over 30 different kayak hull designs and uniformly working great!!

Haha... actually everybody is going to have a first time... but few of us want others to see our "first time". That morning it was spitting rain so we had a short window to shoot. Geoff is a volunteer who did his first launch of a Hobie Outback using both the scupper cart and the Freedom Launcher. I'm sure with practice it would get easier. I keep the scupper cart in storage. The Freedom Launcher goes everywhere the Outback goes.

That's a fair perspective. There are many other options that cost less. For those who are 65+ and injured their bodies using other solutions, the cost becomes less of an issue... it's nice to have options on the feature/cost spectrum.

It has been by far the best money I’ve spent on my kayak. I looked at all the other options too. These have the best features. Super easy. Super sturdy. Love them
