Hi, great video, thanks for uploading this, If user clear their localStorage (clear Browser data), how to decrypt the old messages from DB?
It's impossible by design. That data is lost forever. That is the whole point of forward secrecy. In fact, it is recommended to enable an option to automatically delete all messages older than a specificied time (TTL). Backups need to be encrypted and stored in more standard ways like symmetric encryption.

Our motive as an organisation is to be able to encourage employees for overall development alongside tech skills. We should have however mentioned that this is an internal video and showcasing the research of E2EE. I am sure we will have great content and delivery coming from her. :)
