“The form of life of the Order of the Poor Sisters, which the Blessed Francis founded, is this: to observe the holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Rule of St. Clare is so demanding precisely because it is so simple. What she and St. Francis desired solely was the closest possible union with God by the closest possible imitation of the God-Man. Nothing, then, could be more logical than to take His Gospel as their form of life.
A vocation is so mysterious a gift, a thing so locked in the inner court of the soul, that no one can properly describe or explain it. What can be said is that a true vocation is a call so compelling that a soul must loosen its hold on the dearest and even the holiest of its loves to rise up and follow the summons.
To anyone who thinks that the Gospel cannot be taken quite literally today, we can only borrow Our Lord’s words to St. Andrew: “Come and see!”

First Profession of Sister Maria Antonia of the Holy Wounds of Jesus
On November 1, 2023, solemnity of All Saints, our eldest novice, Sister Maria Antonia of the Holy Wounds of Jesus, professed her first vows (chastity, poverty, obedience, and enclosure), receiving the black veil and knotted cord at the profession ceremony within Holy Mass. The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Peter Baldacchino (bishop pf the Diocese of Las Cruces), with Father Daniel Cardo (pastor of Holy Name Parish in Denver) and Father Larry Bernard, O.F.M., (chaplain of the Roswell Poor Clares) concelebrating. Much to our joy, numerous family and friends were able to attend. We are so happy to have this video, beautifully made by one of Sister's friends, to share with you, and to commemorate our Sister's espousals to Jesus Christ, the Most High King.

This nun issue is totally un-biblical and a catholic fabrication. Subjecting God's children to unfair treatment and absolute misery. This isn't worship. It's for the glorification of the catholic "church". vows (chastity, poverty, and enclosure) what is even that? 100% not christianty
What a radiant and contagious smile Sister Maria Antonia expresses. Her First Profession brought me to tears and brings me hope to see a young woman find her home in a Traditional Catholic Monastery. I will keep her and the rest of the sisters in my prayers. We must support and pray for more Vocations for this treasure to remain flourishing. Salve Maria!

I'm sorry: I'm Catholic to my core, but I have to question the value of nuns (or monks) living in sequestered isolation like this. The world is desperately short of Catholic front-line troops to help address its massive problems, and it just seems an unjustifiable waste for any members of dwindling religious orders to effectively hide away. I know they pray and stuff, but faith and good works, you know?
They are the support staff for those in the front lines in the same way that Mary was for Christ and the Apostles. The Church and the world need their sacrificial prayers.
@@mitchellguidry1078 Yeah - but soon there won't be any vowed religious in the front line, because they will have been murdered or simply died of old age, while their putative replacements are all cloistered away praying.
My deep admiration and respect for people like Sr. Maria Antonia who give their all for Jesus. A special call for special people.
