I don't know how that happened, weird hub?? But anyways, don't even matter, the motor is gone. @@Kaptur.Garage better clear will make the crappiest paint job look good. 🤣 🤣 🤣 That was molten red, suppose to be red and once I added the mica pearl (or whatever someone wants to call it) it changed the color. I had no clue what I did but it ended up that color. Which kinda matches my Harley.

@@DuctTapes78 ahhh, I tell you it came out really good. I have the follow up videos rdy to watch to see the process. But based off just the initial paint job itself it came out like a mirror. I couldn’t see if any orange peel at all. I’ll be trying out there jet black with the Finish 1 clear. I didn’t catch what primer you used if it was mentioned in this video or a previous one.

I wet sanded the clear with 1500 and buffed the heck out of it. And I just used some rustoleum primer.

But I also went also went 2:1 on the last coat of clear and waited 2 weeks to wet sand it.

@@DuctTapes78 I didn't say they weren't. They have limitations, but as long as you are working within them, you are great. We had one that at some point was wired up as a 12v system. I figured out that that was wrong, but it still worked well enough for our needs so I didn't try to fix it. Also if it ever comes up, they are BCI group 1 batteries and try to get all 4 with as close as possible date codes. Those were a couple of our headaches with them.

Ctowns are pretty hard to diagnose. Then new ones are even worse. I use to go and work at Schnucks (a grocery store chain where I live) that's all they have is Crown. Head scratcher sometimes.

I'd like to have one of these older ones for the shop to work on golf carts and stuff, they'd make a great lift for em.

The batteries were a little weak, but that booger fired right up and I didn't realize it had a button for the glow plugs so it was a cold start. It's 63°F here right now too.

Cheapest option is the way your going. I should have just don't that. I cut the engine up so i could put the tractor back together and sold the head on Ebay. I'm going to probably repower it with a Wisconsin Engine.

@@jasonharlan6100 I polished a few cranks by hand. Super fine sand paper 1500 and 2000 grit, wd-40 and a some strips of cloth.

What are you doing to yours?

86 c10, putting vortec heads, first gen block , thumper comp cam. Did you have to do a bypass on the coolant ports to keep the heads cool? The vortec heads don’t have the same port and blocks it. I saw someone drill some holes in the thermostat so some coolant still runs through when it’s closed.

@@keepit01 the thing with that is the water pump, if you're using the serpentine belt set up, make sure you use the vortec water pump. The belt routing turns the pump backwards or vice-versa. The fins on the pump are different then the v belt style. Just make sure your using the right pump with the right belt set up. I'm running an electric water pump. If you look at my last couple videos you'll see it on the stand.

I have a stainless pot already, the videos are in my playlist. I don't do acid mashes like lemons or anything. The pots are thicker walled then the stainless. It won't have any pressure in the pot, unless it's ran with a thumper. I've also seen submarine pots that were build with aluminum. And building this aluminum one isn't cheap by any means. It's a good $400 build. Granted, some of the cost is in the welding material.
