Making Race Bike Number Plates

I used to pay other companies for number plates, but I found that I had more creative freedom and control over quality by learning how to design them myself and have them printed, laminated, and cut by a local printer.
I design number plates for MotoAmerica racers and local club racers. Since I race a Yamaha R1, I have templates ready to go for the 2020-2023 bodywork as well as the 2015-2019 bodywork. I also have R6s and other bikes.
Since there are a lot of bikes that I don't have templates for, sometimes I need for you to make a template and take a photo of it so that your number plates fit your bike perfectly. In this video, I show you how to do that step-by-step.

Last lap pass on my buddy Fritz in Formula 40. This is his on-board footage on his CBR 1000. I was held up for a good part of the race and had to catch up to Fritz. Video starts with a block pass into turn 5. Was a great weekend and Fritz and I both had new personal best lap times.

I had a pretty huge crash in a racing practice in 2019 that sidelined me for the 2019 season. I had hoped to ride again in 2020 but the Covid-19 pandemic pretty much nixed that idea. 2021 is half gone but I have spent some time in the garage as of late to get the bike and its electronics 100%.
