This might be the last, best time of the year to walk that trail. When the lake rises even a little the trail can get submerged not too far along the way. Rains start tomorrow!

Very nice, Angel! You caught the light just right in your shot at 2:33. I like your notes, too. You mention the relationship of Tacoma's name to Mt. Rainier, and on that score Tacoma has a huge advantage over the mountain, which is the victim of one of the worst federal naming crimes in Pacific Northwest history: Sticking it with the name of a dude no one knows or would ever care about, who never saw the mountain, nor even set foot in the continental United States.
